After Stockholm and Copenhagen we rode a night train (but didn't get a bunk room - bad idea) to Berlin. After a few days there we rode a train to the Thuringia region, where we were shown around by our wonderful hosts to castles, festivals, and a hike.

Hier ist ein kleiner Einblick zur Stadt Gotha (Thüringen). Die Besichtigung der Stadt ist auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert. Zudem gibt es einige Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Stadt selbst und schöne fotomotive. Hoffe ihnen gefallen die Impressionen der Stadt. LG
Gotha ist die fünftgrößte Stadt des Freistaats Thüringen und Kreisstadt des Landkreises Gotha. Gotha war von 1640 bis 1825 Residenzstadt des Herzogtums Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg und ab 1826 Haupt- und Residenzstadt des Herzogtums Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha. Im Jahre 1820 wurde in der Stadt mit der Gothaer Versicherung das deutsche Versicherungswesen begründet. Im Gothaer Tivoli gründete sich 1875 die Sozialistische Arbeiterpartei Deutschlands (SAP), die sich später in SPD umbenannte.
Das barocke Schloss Friedenstein dominiert das Stadtbild. Es war bis 1825 Residenz der Herzöge von Sachsen-Gotha-Altenburg, sowie von da an bis 1918 derer von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha.
