Goondiwindi QLD: Series 05 Queensland E17 Road Trip Lap of Australia
To avoid the bushfire burning along the coast of NSW, we headed inland. It was a decision that was 'meant to be'. It felt so good to be back in the country, and we met some amazing people whilst discovering the cotton and olive industries, and how the drought is affecting farmers.
We visited Yelarbon, silo art, Coolmunda Organic Olives, The Old Customs House in Goondiwindi and went on the Goondiwindi Cotton town, farm and art tours.
Goondiwindi Queensland - Friendliest town and the Beautiful town.
Goondiwindi is a beautiful small border town in Queensland state located alongside of Macintyre River sharing the border with New South wales. It is about 350km from the Capital city of Brisbane. Some of the tourist attractions are Customs House Museum, Goondiwindi Natural Heritage and Water park, Fishing in Macintyre River, Goondiwindi Cotton Farm tour, River walk, Old Arch Bridge, The knowledge Tree and has heaps of motels to stay. Five major highways passing through this beautiful town. Choices of Fuel stations & Restaurants. Perfect stopover for interstate travellers and campers. Walking along the Riverside or Exercising, Playing in the Riddles Oval or Skateboarding, Cycling. This town has lot to offer for the residents and tourists. One of the serene countryside town in Queensland, Australia. The fauna of Macintyre river are the best. Tall trees makes the suitable habitat for many native birds. It's a bliss for birdwatchers.

We were heading in land to country Queensland and found ourselves in Goondiwindi. Goondiwindi Cotton is a major employer in the region, farming cotton and developing value add products like clothing, soaps and lotions from local cotton. We took the tour to learn more.
Goondiwindi - 4 Free Bush Camps
Goondiwindi now has four relatively new bush camps on their eastside approach from Yalarbon. Unfortunately, there are no facilities. Being fully self-contained is a necessity. Toilets and showers are in town on the east side as the town is entered.
Both Redmond Park (a now-closed free camp) and the Heritage Water and ski park have various levels of facilities.
