मैनपुरी आगरा मण्डल का एक प्रमुख शहर एवं लोकसभा क्षेत्र है। किलों के लिए प्रसिद्ध मैनपुरी उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य का एक जिला है। अकबर औछा, अम्बरपुर वेटलैंड, समान वन्यजीव अभ्यारण, बर्नहाल और करीमगंज आदि यहां के प्रमुख स्थलों में से है। ऐतिहासिक दृष्टि से भी यह स्थान काफी महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है।
मैनपुरी का पुराना नाम क्या है?
मैनपुरी से जुड़े मयन ऋषि के नाम पर पहले मैनपुरी को मयनपुरी कहा जाता था लेकिन धीरे-धीरे इसे मैनपुरी कहा जाने लगा। हालांकि अभी बोर्ड में इस प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी मिली है। अब सरकार तय करेगी कि मैनपुरी का नाम मैनपुरी ही रहेगा या मयन नगर कर दिया जाएगा
शीतला माता मंदिर मैनपुरी जिले का एक प्रसिद्ध मंदिर है। यह एक प्राचीन मंदिर है। यह मंदिर शीतला माता को समर्पित है। इस मंदिर की स्थापना मैनपुरी के राजा के द्वारा की गई थी।
मैनपुरी जिला स्थित अम्बरपुर वेटलैंड करहल-किशनी मार्ग पर स्थित है। इस जगह पर विश्व के सबसे लम्बे उड़ने वाले 400 सारस मौजूद है। इसके समीप पर ही कुदिईया वेटलैंड स्थित है। बरेली-इटावा मार्ग पर स्थित बेवार शहर मैनपुरी के पूर्व से 27 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है।

A View of Mainpuri, UttarPradesh, India
Mainpuri is a city and a municipal board in Mainpuri district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is the administrative headquarters of the Mainpuri district and is situated to the north-east of Agra and is 270 km from New Delhi. Mainpuri forms part of ancient legendary region of Lord Krishna's land called Braj.
As of 2001 India census,[5] Mainpuri had a population of 89,535. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Mainpuri has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 74%, and female literacy is 64%. In Mainpuri, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age. People speak Kannauji and Braj Bhasha in day to day communication.
The city has some very old and popular Hindu temples. These include Sheetla Devi Temple, where every year during March/April, a Rural Exhibition-cum-Trade Fair is held for 20 days. Bhimsen Mandir is an ancient Shiva temple and Falahari Ashram situated on Jyoti-Devi Road has very rare Statue of Goddess Durga with 18 Arms.Another ancient Shiv temple is Chandeshwar Mandir situated on chandeshwar road,the road begins from maharaja Tej Singh chuarah, near the bridge of river Isan, and terminates on Ashram road. Also located on Devi road are twin Shiv Temples of Kale Mahadev and Shweat Mahadev. Hanuman Temple situated on old Tehsil Road is visited by thousands on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Mainpuri district is one of the districts in Agra division of Uttar Pradesh state of India. Mainpuri town is the district headquarters. It consists of six tehsils, namely Mainpuri, Bhongaon, Karhal, Kishni kurawali and Ghiror.
According to the 2011 census Mainpuri district has a population of 1,847,194,[1] roughly equal to the nation of Kosovo[2] or the US state of West Virginia.[3] This gives it a ranking of 255th in India (out of a total of 640).[1] The district has a population density of 670 inhabitants per square kilometre (1,700/sq mi) .[1] Its population growth rate over the decade 2001-2011 was 15.69%.[1] Mainpuri has a sex ratio of 876 females for every 1000 males,[1] and a literacy rate of 78.26%.[1]
In Mainpuri, 35% of the 12.3 lakh voters are Yadavs. The other dominant castes are the Shakya, Rajputs, Bhrahmins, SCs and Muslims.
Mainpuri is well connected with other parts of the state by road and broad gauge railway so one can also visit Mainpuri by train. Currently, the only two trains are the Kalindi express and the Kanpur Anand Vihar express, which connect Mainpuri to Delhi and Kanpur. The city is also linked by railways to Farrukhabad and Shikohabad, Etawah and Kanpur. Major cities within a 300 kilometres (190 mi) range of Mainpuri include Agra, Delhi, Bareilly, Meerut, Firozabad, Shikohabad, Etawah, Gwalior and Kanpur.
The Agra Lucknow Expressway connects Mainpuri to Lucknow.

One of my all-time favourite comfort foods is the Kundapur Ghee Roast. A dish born decades ago in a tiny eatery called Shetty Lunch Home in the then sleepy hamlet of Kundapur along the South Canara coastline. Over the years, this spicy preparation has conquered palates across the country and beyond. What gives this dish its soul is the roasted Kundapur Masala, that manifests itself in the spicy, tangy, robust flavours of this preparation. Over the years, I have tasted many ghee roasts and watched its making in illustrious kitchens, including Shetty Lunch Home. This recipe, my ode to the dish and its creators, is versatile enough to be made not only with chicken, the original chicken ghee roast, but also with prawns, paneer or any veggie of your choice. Enjoy, stay safe and happy cooking.
1 kg chicken or prawn or vegetable of your choice
For the marinade:
4 to 5 tbsp yoghurt
1 to 1 ½ tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp chilli powder
1 to 2 tsp salt (to taste)
1 tsp lemon juice/ vinegar
For the Kundapur Masala
8 dried Guntur chillies
10 dried Byadgi chillies
2 Tsp peppercorns
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
2 tbsp coriander seeds
2 tbsp thick tamarind pulp
16 - 20 garlic cloves
Water as required
To cook:
6 to 8 tbsp ghee
20-30 nos curry leaves
Salt as required
1 tsp jaggery
1 tsp vinegar
A pinch of coriander powder

Kant town , Shahjahanpur
Kant (Shahjahanpur) is a town and a nagar panchayat of Shahjahanpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Kant is located at 27.8°N 79.8°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 485 metres (147 feet).
Kant was headquarters of British academy in 1940. It is the most growing town of Shahjahanpur just 10 km away from the main Shahjahanpur city. One freedom fighter belongs to Kant.
As of 2011 India census,[2] Kant had a population of 7301. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Kant has an average literacy rate of 87%, higher than the national average of 74%: male literacy is 88%, and female literacy is 86%. In Kant, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age
