Lavalle Street, Buenos Aires, Argentina Virtual Walking Tour (4K)

I filmed this walking tour in early July at around 4:00 pm. This walk starts on the east end of Lavalle at Avenida Leandro N. Alem. I walk west all the way to Plaza Lavalle. This is a distance of 1.3 km or 0.8 miles.

On this walk, we'll pass directly through the center of downtown Buenos Aires (Microcentro). We'll pass by dozens of restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops. We'll also cross the world's widest avenue, Avenida 9 de Julio. In addition, we'll pass by a few Buenos Aires landmarks including the Obelisk and Teatro Colón.

Lavalle street is a major tourist center in Buenos Aires. Most of the street is a pedestrian-only walking street. This is a great place to go to do some window shopping or to grab a bite to eat. Prices are elevated here as this is basically a tourist attraction. Still, it's a nice place to go for a stroll.

Throughout the video, you might hear some guys yelling 'cambio'. These guys offer currency exchange. On Lavalle, you can change your dollars at the black market rate. Exchanging your dollars here is a great way to save some money while visiting Buenos Aries.

Recorriendo CALLE LAVALLE I BUENOS AIRES I ARGENTINA I 4K Walking Tour VLOG

LINK UBICACION:

About Buenos Aires: Buenos Aires is Argentinas big, cosmopolitan capital city. Its center is the Plaza de Mayo, lined with stately 19th-century buildings including Casa Rosada, the iconic, balconied presidential palace. Other major attractions include Teatro Colón, a grand 1908 opera house with nearly 2,500 seats, and the modern MALBA museum, displaying Latin American art. // Buenos Aires, officially the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (Spanish: Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires), is the capital and largest city of Argentina. The city is located on the western shore of the Río de la Plata, on South Americas southeastern coast. Buenos Aires can be translated as fair winds or good airs, but the former was the meaning intended by the founders in the 16th century, by the use of the original name Real de Nuestra Señora Santa María del Buen Ayre, named after the Madonna of Bonaria in Sardinia, Italy. The city of Buenos Aires is neither part of Buenos Aires Province nor the Provinces capital; rather, it is an autonomous district. In 1880, after decades of political infighting, Buenos Aires was federalized and removed from Buenos Aires Province. The city limits were enlarged to include the towns of Belgrano and Flores; both are now neighborhoods of the city. The 1994 constitutional amendment granted the city autonomy, hence its formal name of Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Its citizens first elected a Chief of Government in 1996; previously, the Mayor was directly appointed by the President of Argentina. // Puerto Madero; the Obelisk on July 9 Avenue; the Caminito in La Boca; façade of the Metropolitan Cathedral; front view of Teatro Colón; Palace of the Argentine National Congress; Casa Rosada. Plaza Lavalle - Buenos Aires - Argentina - walking tour [4K UHD] 2023

Plaza Lavalle is a three-block green space in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is located in the San Nicolás neighborhood, surrounded by Libertad, Lavalle, Talcahuano and Córdoba avenues.
It took its final name by municipal ordinance of September 16, 1878, in memory of Juan Lavalle. Lavalle was a hero of the Independence, of the Brazilian War and protagonist of the civil wars, in which he was especially questioned for having shot Manuel Dorrego. The name of the square itself was due to the persistence of hatred between unitarians and federals generated during the internal struggles, since the square that existed in front of the Dorrego family mansion was named after Lavalle. , the Miró Palace, which was located in the block currently bounded by Viamonte, Libertad, Córdoba and Talcahuano streets. For decades the Dorrego family covered the windows that overlooked the square so that the column erected in memory of Lavalle could not be seen from the mansion. The palace was demolished in 1937 and that space was razed to expand the square without it being decorated in any way, thus giving rise to the north block of it.
In 1867 the first merry-go-round that Buenos Aires had was installed. He came from Germany and stayed for three years. It was driven by a horse.
