Things to do in Landshut, Germany Travel Guide
The following video will highlight the best things to do in Landshut.
Landshut is a city by the River Isar in Bavaria, southern Germany. It’s well known for the Trausnitz Castle, with its views across the old town.
We stayed in Landshut by accident as we booked accommodation in Munich in the wrong month - the accommodation that was left was either super pricey or pretty crappy. So we booked ourselves into Landshut, which is only a 50 min train ride away from Munich.
What to do in Landshut:
1. Walk down Altstadt
2. Walk down Neustadt
3. Enjoy a late afternoon stroll by the river
4. Walk to Trausnitz Castle and check out the beautiful views over the old town.
5. Visit St Martin's Church

Landshut, Germany - the colourful houses of Landshut, the architecture of Landshut in Germany. Let's travel to the town of Landshut in Germany and let's admire the traditional colorful gothic houses in the Old Town of Landshut, historical town in Bavaria (close to Munich), Germany. Landshut is a town in Bavaria in the south-east of Germany. Landshut is situated in the centre of Lower Bavaria, and is part of the Alpine foothills. The River Isar runs through the city centre. Landshut is about 72 kilometres (45 mi) northeast of Munich.
Landshut was founded in 1204, when the duke of Bavaria built a fortress there, and was chartered in 1279. It remained a ducal seat until 1503 and was the site of the university of the Bavarian state from 1802 to 1826. An important rail junction, Landshut received more than 12,000 refugees after World War II, stimulating new industries such as electrotechnics and machinery. Other industries include brewing, milling, chocolate making, printing, and the manufacture of textiles and clothing, wood and paper products, and glass goods.
The city retains its medieval character. It is dominated by the ducal castle of Trausnitz (13th–16th century) and by the Gothic church of St. Martin (1389–1450), with one of the world’s highest brick steeples (436 feet [133 metres]). Other landmarks include the Renaissance ducal palace (1536–43); the Cistercian nunnery of Seligenthal (founded 1232), with a Rococo church; and the former Dominican monastery, which was the seat of the university. There are other medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings, as well as many colorful gothic houses.

Walking in FREISING, Germany
Freising / Germany is a town in Bavaria, located North of Munich close to the Munich airport. The city is also known for housing a campus of Munich University for brewery courses. The nearby Weihenstephan brewery was founded in 1040 and is the oldest one in the world.
We start out tour on an October day at the town square with town hall and St. George's Church. We have a look inside the church and then walk on the main street towards the east.
After the Angerbaderstreet we check out some streets north of the central main street and soon also south of that street. We are well on our way to the Domberg, a hill with the Freising Cathedral.
It only takes us a few minutes to get up the hill. A bit out of breath we visit the Freising Cathedral (Dom St. Maria und St. Korbinian) and enjoy a view from the Domberg Observation platform (Aussichtsplattform Domberg).
It's time to go down the the town again. We get to the town square once again and check out the western part of the main street (Obere Haupstraße) before we end our tour

We start out tour on an October day at the town square with town hall and St. George's Church. We have a look inside the church and then walk on the main street towards the east.

Note: during my visit a bit of construction happened in the center so the walk is a bit cut short though should still give a good impression of this rather typical Bavarian town.

Landshut, Germany - the Church of Saint Martin (Saint Martin's Church) in Landshut. Let's travel to Germany and let's visit the city of Landshut. We will go to The Church of St. Martin in Landshut which is a medieval church in the German city located in the state of Bavaria. The Church of St. Martin in Landshut is a Brick Gothic landmark and it is the tallest church in Bavaria, and the tallest brick building as well as church in the world. It is also the 2nd tallest brick structure in the world (after Anaconda Smelter Stack), made without steel supports. St. Martin's church has a height of 130.6 metres (428 ft).
Landshut is a city straddling the River Isar in Bavaria, southern Germany. It’s known for the medieval Trausnitz Castle, with its views across the old town. Within the castle is the Chamber of Art and Curiosities, displaying artifacts collected by the Wittelsbach dukes. In the old town, Gothic St. Martin’s Church has a tall brick tower. Close to the Isar is the Ländtor, a gate from the town’s medieval fortifications.

Этот небольшой европейский город в Германии в средние века был одним из важнейших, так как именно здесь располагалась столица Баварии и проживали баварские короли. Самая высокая католическая церковь на юге Германии из кирпича - 133 метра - одна главных достопримечательностей немецкого Ландсхута. Есть так же в этом городе своя традиция - раз в четыре года устраивать «Ладсхутскую княжескую свадьбу» - представление в костюмах. Традиция существует с 1475 года, когда в городском соборе архиепископом Зальцбурга были повенчаны польская принцесса и сын герцога Ландсхута. Располагается город всего в 50-ти километрах от Мюнхена, и буквально в 10-ти от международного аэропорта, что и делает его одним из привлекательных близлежащих городов для посещения туристов.

Bad Endbach | Travel Tipps | Reiseführer Deutsch
Bad Endbach liegt zwischen 300 und 500 m über N.N. im Lahn-Dill-Bergland am westlichen Rand des Landkreises Marburg-Biedenkopf in Mittelhessen. Die Mittelgebirgsregion liegt 20 Kilometer westlich von Marburg, 15 Kilometer östlich von Dillenburg, 20 Kilometer nördlich von Wetzlar und 25 Kilometer nordwestlich von Gießen an den Ausläufern von Rothaargebirge und Westerwald im so genannten Hessischen Hinterland.
Die Anfänge des Kurortes reichen zurück in das Jahr 1947. 1955 wird Endbach Kneipp-Kurort und erhält 1970 den Titel Kneipp-Heilbad. Zu Beginn des Kurwesens florierte der Fremdenverkehr, einhergehend mit einem wirtschaftlichen Aufschwung des Ortes in den 1950er und 1960er Jahren. In den folgenden Jahren reduzierten sich die Übernachtungszahlen (zum Vergleich: 1962 ca. 150.000 Übernachtungen, 2012 ca. 61.000 Übernachtungen).

Landshuter Hochzeit: Plötzlich Prinzessin | Zwischen Spessart und Karwendel | Doku | BR
Seit 1903 findet sie alle vier Jahre statt: Die Landshuter Hochzeit, eines der größten bayerischen Historienspiele, und jedes Mal stellt eine junge Landshuterin die polnische Königstochter Jadwiga dar. Diese Hedwig war wohl nicht sehr glücklich bei ihrer Zwangsheirat. Anders als die jeweilige junge Landshuterin, die sie im goldenen Kleid verkörpern darf.

Kanutour auf der Isar von Freising bis Landshut
In Freising an der Brücke stiegen Hans und ich ein und bei geringem Pegel mussten wir unsere Fahrspur finden um nicht auf Grund zu laufen. Was aber nicht immer gelang und wir treideln mussten. Nach der Amper Mündung hatte wir aber genug Wasser unterm Kiel bis nach Landshut.
