Gadh Mukteshwar famous as Gadh Ganga is a holy place near Delhi. it is around 90 KMs from Delhi. Pilgrims come here for a holy dip in Ganga River and visit some old temples here. You can also enjoy boating at Gadh Ganga for Rs 100 to 200 per head.

गढ़मुक्तेश्वर, भारत के उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य के हापुड़ जिले का शहर एवं तहसील मुख्यालय है। इसे गढ़वाल राजाओं ने बसाया था। गंगा नदी के किनारे बसा यह शहर गढ़वाल राजाओं की राजधानी था; बाद में इसपर पृथ्वीराज चौहान का अधिकार हो गया।
'गढ़मुक्तेश्वर' राष्ट्रीय राजधानी दिल्ली से १०० किलोमीटर दूर 'राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग संख्या 9' पर बसा है। गढ़मुक्तेश्वर मेरठ से 42 किलोमीटर दूर स्थित है और गंगा नदी के दाहिने किनारे पर बसा है। विकास की दृष्टि से गढ़मुक्तेश्वर सबसे पिछड़ी तहसील मानी जाती है, किन्तु सांस्कृतिक दृष्टि से अत्यंत महत्त्वपूर्ण है। यहाँ कार्तिक पूर्णिमा के अवसर पर लगने वाला गंगा स्नान पर्व उत्तर भारत का सबसे बड़ा मेला माना जाता है।
शिवपुराण के अनुसार, यहाँ पर अभिशप्त शिवगणों की पिशाच योनि से मुक्ति हुई थी, इसलिए इस तीर्थ का नाम 'गढ़मुक्तेश्वर' अर्थात् 'गणमुक्तेश्वर (गणों को मुक्त करने वाले ईश्वर) नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुआ।

Some Information About Garhmukteshwar:-
Garhmukteshwar (also spelled Garhmukhteshwar) is a town and a municipal board in Hapur district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.Garhmukteshwar is situated on the National Highway 24 joining New Delhi with Lucknow. The town is 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from the Ganges River and around 100 kilometres (62 mi) from New Delhi, making it the closest major place of habitation to that river from India's capital city.Garhmukteshwar is an ancient place that is mentioned in the Bhagavata Purana and the Mahabharata. It was a part of ancient Hastinapur, the capital of the Pandavas. An ancient fort, repaired by the Maratha leader Mir Bhawan, became, under the British, the headquarters of the tehsil. The name of the town is derived from the temple of Mukteshwar Mahadeva, dedicated to the goddess Ganga who is worshipped there in four temples. The town has 80 sati pillars, marking the spots where Hindu widows are said to have become satimata. The town also has a mosque, built by Gays-ud-din Balban, that bears an inscription in Arabic dating to 682 Hijri (1283 A.D.).The ancient Ganga Temple once had around 100 steps leading down to the river. 85 of these are still intact. Devotees from all around the country come to the temple to witness the Ganges and the white stone idol of Brahma.
Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple is an ancient Shiva temple in the town. It has Shiva lingam in the temple which is believed to have been constructed by the sage Parshuram.
Nahush Koop is a well whose water comes from the Ganges. King Nahush performed a yajna here.
Meerabai ki Reti is a tourist destination located just opposite to the Mukteshwar temple. It is a sandy stretch of land where, according to folklore, Meerabai used to stay and offer prayers.
Brijghat has many temples like as Vedant Mandir, Hanuman Mandir, Amrit Parisar.
There are two railways stations in the town named Garhmukteshwar (City) and Garhmukteshwar Bridge (Brijghat). They are on the Delhi-Moradabad line.

Gadh Mukteshwar famous as Gadh Ganga is a holy place near Delhi. it is around 90 KMs from Delhi. Pilgrims come here for a holy dip in Ganga River and visit some old temples here. You can also enjoy boating at Gadh Ganga for Rs 100 to 200 per head. Direct buses available from Delhi for Gadh Ganga.
गढ़मुक्तेश्वर, भारत के उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य के हापुड़ जिले का शहर एवं तहसील मुख्यालय है। इसे गढ़वाल राजाओं ने बसाया था। गंगा नदी के किनारे बसा यह शहर गढ़वाल राजाओं की राजधानी था; बाद में इसपर पृथ्वीराज चौहान का अधिकार हो गया।
'गढ़मुक्तेश्वर' राष्ट्रीय राजधानी दिल्ली से १०० किलोमीटर दूर 'राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग संख्या 9' पर बसा है। गढ़मुक्तेश्वर मेरठ से 42 किलोमीटर दूर स्थित है और गंगा नदी के दाहिने किनारे पर बसा है। विकास की दृष्टि से गढ़मुक्तेश्वर सबसे पिछड़ी तहसील मानी जाती है, किन्तु सांस्कृतिक दृष्टि से अत्यंत महत्त्वपूर्ण है। यहाँ कार्तिक पूर्णिमा के अवसर पर लगने वाला गंगा स्नान पर्व उत्तर भारत का सबसे बड़ा मेला माना जाता है।
शिवपुराण के अनुसार, यहाँ पर अभिशप्त शिवगणों की पिशाच योनि से मुक्ति हुई थी, इसलिए इस तीर्थ का नाम 'गढ़मुक्तेश्वर' अर्थात् 'गणमुक्तेश्वर (गणों को मुक्त करने वाले ईश्वर) नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुआ।
Garhmukteshwar (Tehsil / Block (CD) in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh state, India), is an ancient place that is mentioned in the Bhagavata Purana and the Mahabharata. There are claims that it was a part of ancient Hastinapur, the capital of the Pandavas. An ancient fort, repaired by the Maratha leader Mir Bhawan, became, under the British, the headquarters of the tehsil. The name of the town is derived from the temple of Mukteshwar Mahadeva, dedicated to the goddess Ganga who is worshipped there in four temples. The town has 80 sati pillars, marking the spots where Hindu widows are said to have become Sati-Mata.
