It's one of the busiest places in Gangtok. At MG Marg you can find a plenty of food joints , shopping outlets, bars, hotels, casino and much more. Moving ahead of MG Marg you can visit the famous ropeway of Gangtok. From there go to Do-drul Chorten situated at Namgyal Institute of Tibetology Gangtok. Do-drul Chorten is a very peaceful place and a must visit places in Gangtok.
To visit other tourist attraction in Gangtok you need to hire a taxi for a day. There are 10 points like The Banjhakri Falls and Energy Park, Tashi Viewpoint , Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok, Lahasa Falls that can be easily covered in one day.

TOUR ITINERARY:
DAY 1: NJP/BAGDOGRA TO GANGTOK
Our representative will Meet and Greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station/Bagdogra and transfer to Gangtok (5,480 ft.) 124 km (77 mi). The drive will take you through a bank of river Tista with a beautiful view of mountains and river. On arrival Check-in to hotel and rest. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
DAY 2: TSOMGO LAKE & BABA MANDIR (Optional Nathula Pass)
After Breakfast will have a Full day Excursion OF Tsomgo Lake. The water in this lake has been accumulated from the melting snow on the mountains located nearby. Post covering Tsomgo Laje we will proceed to Baba Mandir, which is a distinguished sightseeing place of Sikkim. This “mandir” or shrine is dedicated to “Baba” Harbhajan Singh, who was a soldier of the Indian Army.
Optional: Nathula Pass on direct payment basis (3500-5000) depending on the permit.
DAY 3: GANGTOK SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast will have a sightseeing of Gangtok which includes Tashi viewpoint, Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok, Bakhtang Waterfall, Enchey Monastery, Flower exhibition centre, handicraft centre(closed on Sunday), Chorten Stupa, Institute of Tibetology, Ropeway Overnight at Gangtok.
DAY 4: GANGTOK TO DARJEELING
After having breakfast move towards Darjeeling which is a beautiful hill town set in West Bengal which is known for its tea plantations. The place makes one experience the most breath-taking views of the Himalayas. on the way visit to Triveni viewpoint. After reaching Darjeeling, check-in to the hotel and after fresh up can have a Toy Train ride (BY OWN) free to roam Darjeeling market in the evening.
DAY 5: TIGER HILL & DARJEELING SIGHTSEEING
Early Morning at 3:45 am will move towards tiger hill. It is famous for its panoramic view of Mount Everest and MT Kanchenjunga together and early morning sunrise. On the way back to hotel visit the famous Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After breakfast will have sightseeing which includes, Japanese temple, Peace pagoda, Ava art gallery, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Ropeway, Tenzing Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre (Closed on Sunday).
DAY 6: KURSEONG VISIT & DROP TO BAGDOGRA
After having breakfast will move towards Airport/NJP via Kurseong.

1.Nathu La
Nathu La has located 56 km from Gangtok and used to be a corridor from India to Tibet. The road is one of the world's highest motorable ways and is surrounded by rich alpha pine trees. The road was closed in 1961 but was reopened in 2006.
2.Hanuman Tok
Hanuman Tok is a famous temple of Lord Hanuman and is maintained by the Indian Army. The temple is situated at the height of 7200 feet, just opposite to the Kanchenjunga peak, the third highest peak in the world. The serenity of Hanuman Tok makes it an excellent spot for you to rest, meditate, and get all charged up.
3.Namgyal Institute of Tibetology
Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is one of its kind that preserves the culture and glorious past of the country with utmost dedication. Despite being a place for study and research of the Buddhist culture, the institute has emerged as a significant tourist attraction in Gangtok. The building is built in Tibetan architectural style with tall golden towers that are attractive.
4.Rumtek Monastery
Rumtek Monastery is one of the largest monasteries in Sikkim and was formerly called as Dharma Chakra Centre. Green mountains surround the monastery, thus giving a visual treat for tourists visiting the place. Rumtek Monastery was established to spread the Buddhist teachings around the world.
5.Pemayangtse Monastery
Pemayangtse Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries situated in the Pelling region of Sikkim. The monastery stands still on the historical Rabdentse ruins of Sikkim. The shrine is dedicated to Padmasambhava, who revived Buddhism in Tibet. The monastery stands at an elevation of 2085 meters (6840 feet) above the sea level provides an iconic and eye-pleasing site.
6.Phodong Monastery
Phodong Monastery is the most important Buddhist monastery in Sikkim. The monastery is not only an important place for Buddhists but also a famous place for tourism. The monastery is located at a vantage point at the height of 4500m, which provides a beautiful view of lush green hills.
7.Khecheopalri Lake
Khecheopalri Lake is a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists. The lake is located at an altitude of 1700m above sea level and is part of the Buddhist pilgrimage circuit. The lake is often referred to as wish-fulfilling lake, and pilgrims from around the world visit the place in the hope of getting their wishes fulfilled.
8.Sikkim Himalayan Zoological Park
Sikkim Himalayan Zoological Park or Kanchenjunga National Park is named after the highest mountain peak in the world. The park is recently included in the UNESCO's world heritage sites and lies partly in Nepal and Sikkim. The place is treated as a paradise for trekking and is home for rare species of flora and fauna. The park has numerous glaciers inside and Zemu glacier being the most significant one.
9.Ganesh Tok
Ganesh Tok is a small temple with a viewpoint that offers a stunning view of the mountains dusted with snow. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesh, and the temple is so small that only one person can fit at a time. Saramsa Garden is also known as Ipecac Garden, is located at a distance of 14km from Gangtok. The large greenhouse is constructed to preserve the rare Orchid plants. The mesmerizing garden and exquisite range of different colored flowers bring you one step closer to nature.

Gangtok in 2 minutes | 10 points | Local Sightseeing in Sikkim | Tour Vlog
Cabs ply from Siliguri railway station (Bagdogra airport, NJP railway station) to Gangtok at regular intervals. The cab costs Rs 250 per head and the travel is around 4 hours.
Foreigners entering Sikkim need to ensure that they have the required permission as they may be subjected to Inner Land permit. (
This is a day tour of Gangtok. The 10 points include Ropeway, Ganesh Tok, Nanyang Institute of Tibetology, Tashi View Point, Gonjang Monastery, Do Drul Chorten Stupa, Bakthang Waterfalls, MG Marg et al. The tour starts at 9 AM in the morning and finishes up at around 3-4PM. The cost of a cab is around 1800. It can be reduced by negotiation.
