This is our (HereWeGo) summer day trip to Gävle, Sweden vlog from Stockholm. The city of Gävle is situated 2 hours drive north of Stockholm. We visited Gävle as part of overnight stop on our way to further north of Sweden. We were pleasantly surprised by the beauty and charm of this small town. The city is dotted with many beautiful art pieces and sculptures. It is also home to the famous Gävlebocken(Gävle goat) which is the world's biggest straw goat and is built every year before Christmas. We particularly enjoyed the old town part called Gamla Gefle, with its charming cobblestone streets and colorful wooden houses decorated with gorgeous blooming roses.

What NOT to Do in Sweden | Avoid These 10 Mistakes!
Swedish people are often polite and friendly, and they don't show their dislike very openly. But there are some things that Swedes HATE above all others! Avoid these pitfalls if you visit Sweden.
This list includes some common and some more unexpected items. They might be especially unexpected if you come from a very different culture compared to the Nordics and Scandinavia.
These are the ten things discussed in this video:
10. Buying a round of drinks for everyone at the table. It might sound like a common thing to do, but you should be wary of that in Sweden.
9. Asking about people's salaries. This is still a very taboo topic in Sweden, so avoid it.
8. Boasting is rude in almost every culture, but it's especially rude in Sweden due to the Law of Jante (Jantelagen).
7. If you mix up Sweden and Denmark, or Sweden and Norway, then you've really gone and annoyed us Swedes...
6. Don't stand on the wrong side of the escalator. Really. This is something only extremely ignorant or rude people do.
5. Many people are atheist or agnostic in Sweden, so discussing your religion is seen as....quite odd.
4. It's common to speak loudly in many cultures. Sweden is NOT one of those cultures.
3. Give people some space! Do not walk too close to people.
2. Here's a silly one that I just had to include: don't talk about the Finnish hockey team. We've been beaten a few too many times by them.
1. And finally, the most important thing not to do: do not EVER cut in line. Seriously. Don't even think about it.

We start the day at the Sothern Heights (Söders höjder) to whitness one of the best views over the city. Our walking tour takes us to the castle, through the cobble streets of the old town, the parliament, the Grand Hotel, Nybroplan, Kungsträdgården, Plattan and Hötorget. We indulge in a delisious lunch at Fern & Fika where we try some healthy versions of traditional Swedish fika treats. The day finishes 20 minutes outsite the city and Drottningholm the castle residence of the Swedish royal family.

Gävle - Sweden's Chigago? | Tour of Norrland's Second Biggest Town
Gävle is a town in the north of Sweden, most famous for having the world's biggest Christmas Yule Goat. But 50 years ago it used to be known as Sweden's Chicago due to rampant violent crime in the city.
Come along as I explore the city and tell you of its history, dating back to 1413 when this was a fishing town and a center for transporting goods from the area of Bergslagen in Sweden, out to the Baltic Sea.

The World's Biggest Christmas Goat | The Gävle Goat
In Gävle, Sweden, you can find the world's largest christmas goat. And this poor goat is burned down almost every year...
I'm on a road trip from Stockholm to the far north of Sweden, and I'm checking out all the weird and wonderful things I can find along the way. This time I explored the town of Gävle.
The Gävle Goat (Gävlebocken) is a gigantic straw goat that's traditionally placed in central Gävle in the beginning of December...and it's also traditionally burned down sometime before or after Christmas. Since 1966, the goat has been destroyed 37 times, even though it's also highly illegal.
Check out this video for more stories about the Gävle Goat - how it was burned down twice in 1992, and how an American tourist spent 18 days in jail for burning it another year. And how it was hit by a car in 1976... The story of the Gävle Goat really is weird and wonderful!
