The diversity of the Swiss villages has fascinated many visitors, whichever region you visit, the villages all look unique and different. Some people say that you only will get to feel the authentic villages, when you choose to visit one or more of the many traditional villages. But which ones are worth to visit? With this video, I proudly present you my TOP 10 MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES OF SWITZERLAND for the year 2023 in detail. I am sure that you may be familiar with a few of these 10 villages, but the majority on this list will most likely be new to you! This is likely the most detailed travel guide video about Swiss villages here on YouTube! Wonderful Marthalen lays in northern Switzerland in Zürich’s wine land region. The village charms with its many wood frame houses and alleys. Marthalen is best to be visited during Spring and Summer, when the entire landscape shines in green. Nearby attractions would be the village of Rheinau with its monastery and the Rhine falls, Europe’s tallest river waterfall. Gandria in Ticino is a beautiful hanging fishing village just at the boarder to Italy. Gandria is best to be visited by boat from Lugano, Morcote or Porlezza. The village has numerous stairs and alleys and feels like a maze, quite exciting! Poschiavo is located in the Italian-speaking part of the canton of Graubünden. The village is rather large and the most alive among all of these villages on this Top 10 list. The village also has a very interesting history one can learn about in the three local museums. Lessoc is a rather secret village located in Fribourg. It’s less noticed due to the more famous nearby towns of Gruyères and Château d’Oex. Lessoc is great for those visitors who want to avoid crowds. Sonogno is the uppermost village in the very touristy Valle Verzasca. It’s very popular among Swiss and German visitors but remains rather unknown to the rest of the world. The village charms with its traditional stone houses and alleys. Albinen is the hidden gem of this list. It’s very similar to Grimentz but the core is larger and there are more details to discover. The village is very raw, alone this fact is a strong reason for anyone to come here. Albinen is best to be combined with nearby Leukerbad, the Swiss oasis of wellness. Morcote remains a favorite for anyone who loves alluring villages. It’s similar to Gandria but busier. Consider climbing the hill to enjoy a great vista down to the church. Lungern is probably the most popular village on this Top 10 villages list. Lungern has been admired for its green hills and turquoise lake, definitely a wonderful alpine oasis to visit. Iseltwald, the winner of Last years’ Top 10 villages list does not seize to amaze its visitors. The village is full of these wonderful wooden houses that well blend with the lake and the green hills. Iseltwald is great to be included into a holiday at Interlaken. The winner of this year’s Top 10 Swiss Villages is Bosco Gurin! This place remains very raw despite its incredible beauty! Lauterbrunnen | Magical land of Switzerland ????????| Winter ❄️
Lauterbrunnen is situated in one of the most impressive trough valleys in the Alps, between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. With its 72 thundering waterfalls, secluded valleys, colourful alpine meadows and lonely mountain inns, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the biggest nature conservation areas in Switzerland.
The very name ‘Lauter Brunnen’ (‘many fountains’) suggests the magnificence of this landscape. There are 72 waterfalls in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the most famous being the Staubbach Falls. Plunging almost 300 metres from an overhanging rock face, they are one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in Europe. In 1779, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe visited the valley, and was inspired by the roaring waters to write his well-known poem ‘Spirit song over the waters’
Another deafening natural phenomenon are the Trümmelbach Falls in the ‘Black Monk’ mountain, hidden behind mighty rock faces. Up to 20,000 litres of water per second cascade over the ten glacier falls from a total height of about 200 metres. This spectacle can only be reached in summer by tunnel lift.
Winter
The expansive ski regions of Wengen-Kleine Scheidegg and Mürren-Schilthorn are quickly reached by mountain railway. There are 45 transport facilities altogether in the Jungfrau region as well as 213 km of piste, fun parks, 100 km of winter hiking trails and 50 km of toboggan run. The Lauterbrunnen Valley also boasts plenty of cross-country ski trails.
Summer
The valley town of Lauterbrunnen (795 m) is the starting point for some of the best known excursion destinations in the Jungfrau region. A rack railway links Lauterbrunnen with the sunny terrace of Wengen on the eastern flank of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and the Kleinen Scheidegg, the station where you change trains for the onward journey to the Jungfraujoch.
On the opposite side of the valley is the holiday resort of Mürren, accessible from Lauterbrunnen and Stechelberg. The cableway from Stechelberg continues to the peak of the Schilthorn at 2971 m, famous for being the setting where the 007 classic, ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ was filmed.
A few kilometres further up the valley from Lauterbrunnen, accessible along a narrow mountain road, is the peaceful little mountain village of Isenfluh, perched on a steep rock terrace at 1024 m, and starting point for walks in the romantic Saustal and further to Mürren and the Lobhorn mountains.

Walking tour in Bern, Switzerland 2021/Frutigen, One Of Switzerland's Hidden Gems
A walking tour is one of the many ways to enjoy expensive Switzerland without costing you a fortune. All you got to do is know where to go and what the weather will be like. You don't necessarily have to target the popular tourist spots, if you're on a budget. Since Switzerland is blessed with breathtaking alpine landscape, almost everywhere, you won't have a hard time looking for the perfect spot for your budget.
On this video, Frutigen, a small, peaceful town in the the Bernese Oberland (Bernese Highlands) is displayed. Frutigen, 800 meters above sea level, is surrounded by mountains. Niesen, Männliflue, Gehrihorn and Drunengalm. In summer, it is a paradise for hikers and cyclists; in winter, it is the skiers’ gateway to the mountains. Frutigen is connected with nearby Adelboden. Buses to Adelboden start from the Frutigen railway station.

Then the journey continues to the gondola base station of the touristic and very lovely Engstligenalp, which is very well worth a visit!

Autumn Beauty of BLAUSEE - Switzerland's Hidden Gem
Here I am again, sharing you my shots of the Autumn Beauty of Blausee, Switzerland and how to get there. When you search for your Train schedule, type your location and FRUTIGEN as your destination. When you get to Frutigen, the Bus Station is just when you get out of the station. Bus to Bluasee direction Kandersteg is every hour. From Frutigen every 00:27, from Balusee back to Frutigen every 00:08. Trip takes 20 mins.
Entrance fee to Blausee Natural Park depends on the season and if there's a boat ride. We were chage Chf 10.- as the boat is not working or nobody to man it, or it is just during summertime. The Lake is just small, but it is not the only thing that will make you admire what you see, but also the natural landscape of the woods where you will be passing IN & OUT of the Park. I love this season (November) in the woods. There's a lot of colors that your eyes will catch, besides it is now brighter than during the summer when the trees have lush leaves, now the sunlight can freely come in as some leaves have already fallen. There's a picnic site with bar-b-q pits beside the Kiddie Playground.
Passing by the wooden bridge, you will spot that sunken girl statue. It will make you wonder, what is it and how come it is in there, and what's the story behind it? There's is this story or a legend, to this statue of the girl that was created 1998 and with it is a sad story.
The Sad Legend of the Sunken Girl Statue of Blausee....
There's a plaque next to the statue that states: “In memory of the legend of the Blausee. The artist and sculptor Raphael Fuchs carved this statue of the beautiful young girl who was found dead in this lake many years ago. This was the place where she used to spend many romantic hours with her lover. After his sudden death, which she could hardly accept, she continue going to the Lake every night until she eventually died of grief herself”. The blueness of the lake was assumed or said to be caused by her tears.
