Fritzlar im Mittelalter Stadtmodell in Holz historische Altstadt, Stadtmauer, Warten,Tore und Türme

Der Künstler Johann Steffen hat im Grauen Turm die Stadt Fritzlar nachgebaut - komplett in Holz.
Bei dem Stadtmodell geht es in erster Linie um die Stadt mit den historischen Bauten, des weiteren um das Verteidigungssytem, das im 13. Jahrhundert aufgebaut wurde. Es bestand aus sieben Türmen ( Warten ), von denen fünf bis heute existieren. Eine wurde bereits im 15. Jahrhundert zerstört, eine zweite fiel dem Bau des Flugplatzes 1936 zum Opfer. Zwischen den Warten, auch das sieht man im Modell, verlief eine Landwehr ein aus zwei bis drei Meter hohen Hecken bestehender Streifen. So sollte dafür gesorgt werden, dass Angreifer nur auf bestimmten Wegen Richtung Stadt vorrückten. Zentral für das Frühwarnsystem war der mächtige Graue Turm, der im Jahr 1274 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wurde. Die Warten waren so um die Stadt verteilt, dass anrückende Feinde früh entdeckt werden konnten. Per Fahne und bei Nacht per Fackel wurde Alarm gegeben, so war die Stadt gewarnt. Dieses System soll man im Grauen Turm nachvollziehen können. Per Knopfdruck senden die Warten Lichtsignale an den Grauen Turm - per Laserstrahl.

Fritzlar + Wabern - Ein Flug durch die CTR Fritzlar
Das Video entstand Mitte März 2022 und zeigt einen Flug durch die CTR Fritzlar.
Beim Durchfliegen der CTR sollte man die Informationen der AIP VFR berücksichtigen und einen Überflug der Orte unter einer bestimmten Höhe vermeiden. Ich habe den Überflug der Orte gleich ganz vermieden.
Direkt neben der historischen Stadt Fritzlar liegt der Flugplatz des Kampfhubschrauberregiment 36 „Kurhessen“.
In der Gegen um Fritzlar liegen große Agraranbaugebiete, unter anderem für einen Hersteller von Sauerkraut. Bei Wabern sieht man bereits von weitem die Zuckerfabrik mit ihren Gleisanlagen.

When flying through the CTR, one should take into account the AIP VFR information and avoid flying over the towns below a certain altitude. I avoided flying over the towns altogether right away.
Right next to the historic town of Fritzlar is the airfield of the combat helicopter regiment 36 Kurhessen.
In the area around Fritzlar there are large agricultural areas, among others for a producer of sauerkraut. Near Wabern, the sugar factory with its railroad tracks can be seen from afar.

In this video we're leaving the Edersee and visit the medievel town of Fritzlar.
I lost almost all of my footage of staying at the Edersee so there is not alot to show about that anymore.
We had also trouble with shooting video in Fritzlar because of my gimbal failure. But with photographs and some footage, you get a good feeling what it looked like.

Einmal Brötchen holen mit einer kurzen Autotour durch Fritzlar. Über Nacht hat es ca.10 cm
geschneit.
Stadtbefestigung Fritzlar
Die etwa 2,7 km lange, 7,5 bis 10 m hohe und an ihrer Basis durchschnittlich 3 m dicke Stadtmauer war an strategischen Stellen mit Türmen versehen. Von den einst 23 Wehrtürmen stehen heute noch lediglich zehn (Turmstümpfe 9). Mit 37 m Höhe ist der 1274 erstmals erwähnte „Graue Turm“ der höchste noch stehende städtische Wachturm in Deutschland.
Außerhalb der Stadt stehen noch heute fünf der ehemals sieben Warten.
