Palmarin Ecolodge || Fatick SENEGAL ???????? || Vlog || Sleep in Africa

(English subtitles available)
Sleep in Africa & @byjudingz from @traveling.africans partnered with Emma, the woman behind the beautiful Instagram account @girlaroundafrica.

Emma is a French-Nigerien creative based in Dakar, Senegal. She is taking you to the Palmarin ecolodge located in the Siné Saloum.
If it is not already done, we HIGHLY encourage you to visit and follow @girlaroundafrica for more content related to travel in Africa. ????

@ecolodgepalmarin is a peaceful haven located in the region of Sine Saloum. The ecolodge is located between the seafront and the Saloum estuary, which offers calm and a scenic experience. The particularity of the lodge is probably the originality of its 22 bungalows architecture.
Their colors create a nice contrast with the bleu of the sea. The interesting fact is that the bungalows are painted by hand by the artisans of the ecolodge.

Price per night goes from to 48 to 76$.

Some activities such as biking, fishing, horse-drawn carriage or pirogue rides are included in the price. The lodge also has a nice swimming pool.

⚜️ Our recommendations : the ecolodge is ideal for family or friend trips. We definitely recommend you staying there if you are looking for a quietful place in Sine Saloum.

Special shoutout to the Palmarin ecolodge team!

Balade dans le Sine Saloum

Ecotheraphy in Africa, Nature, Senegal, Sine Saloum, Rayman Mufasa Vlog 6

Hi all, it's your boy Rayman Mufasa AKA your Ray of Sunshine travelling through the Continent, exploring alternative ways of living. Here I showcase to you my second week in Senegal where I take you on a road trip to Sine-Saloum, Don't forget to Like, Share, Comment, Subscribe.

Ecotherapy can involve loosely structured activities, such as walking along the beach or going for a hike in a forested area. You can also choose to participate in more formal approaches, often with guidance from a therapist.

This is the region located south of the Petite Côte du Senegal , just north of The Gambia. It is known for the beauty of its landscapes , which can be admired in the Sine-Saloum National Park , a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The park stretches around the Sine Saloum delta , the point of confluence of two rivers (the Sine and the Saloum, logical is not it?) With the sea. It is a very special region due to the countless small islands formed by rivers and the ecosystem that reigns there: this mixture of freshwater and seawater is suitable for only a few plant species and is therefore the kingdom of the mangrove , this kind of forest growing in maritime marshes and characterised in particular by the mangroves that grow there.

MAP OF SENEGAL

Senegal, officially the Republic of Senegal, is a country in West Africa, on the Atlantic Ocean coastline. Senegal is bordered by Mauritania to the north, Mali to the east, Guinea to the southeast and Guinea-Bissau to the southwest. Senegal nearly surrounds the Gambia, a country occupying a narrow sliver of land along the banks of the Gambia River, which separates Senegal's southern region of Casamance from the rest of the country. Senegal also shares a maritime border with Cape Verde. Senegal's economic and political capital is Dakar.

Senegal is notably the westernmost country in the mainland of the Old World, or Afro-Eurasia. It owes its name to the Senegal River, which borders it to the east and north. The climate is typically Sahelian, though there is a rainy season. Senegal covers a land area of almost 197,000 square kilometres (76,000 sq mi) and has a population of around 17 million. The state is a unitary presidential republic; since the country's foundation in 1960, it has been recognized as one of the most stable countries on the African continent.

The state was formed as part of the independence of French West Africa from French colonial rule. Because of this history, French is the official language, but it is understood only by a minority of the population. Over 30 languages are spoken in Senegal, and Wolof is the most widely spoken one, with 80% of the population speaking it as a first or second language, acting as Senegal's lingua franca alongside French. Like other post-colonial African states, the country includes a wide mix of ethnic and linguistic communities, with the largest being the Wolof, Fula, and Serer people. Senegalese people are predominantly Muslim.

Senegal is classified as a heavily indebted poor country, with a relatively low Human Development Index. Most of the population is on the coast and works in agriculture or other food industries; other major industries include mining, tourism, and services. The country does not have notable natural resources, but the basis of its development lies in education, where almost half the state's budget is spent on. Senegal is a member state of the African Union, the United Nations, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Organisation internationale de la Francophonie, and the Community of Sahel-Saharan States. Internationally, Senegal is best known in the sporting world for the Paris-Dakar Rally. Senegal is subdivided into 14 regions, each administered by a Conseil Régional (Regional Council) elected by population weight at the Arrondissement level. The country is further subdivided by 45 Départements, 113 Arrondissements (neither of which have administrative function) and by Collectivités Locales, which elect administrative officers.

Regional capitals have the same name as their respective regions:

Dakar
Diourbel
Fatick
Kaffrine
Kaolack
Kédougou
Kolda
Louga
Matam
Saint-Louis
Sédhiou
Tambacounda

Foreign relations. The main industries include food processing, mining, cement, artificial fertilizer, chemicals, textiles, refining imported petroleum, and tourism. Exports include fish, chemicals, cotton, fabrics, groundnuts, and calcium phosphate. The largest export markets as of 2020 are Mali (20.4%), Switzerland (12.2%), and India (8.3%).

As a member of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), Senegal is working toward greater regional integration with a unified external tariff. Senegal is also a member of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa.

Senegal achieved full Internet connectivity in 1996, creating a mini-boom in information technology-based services. Private activity now accounts for 82 percent of its GDP. On the negative side, Senegal faces deep-seated urban problems of chronic high unemployment, socioeconomic disparity, juvenile delinquency, and drug addiction.

Senegal is a major recipient of international development assistance. Donors include the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Japan, France and China. Over 3,000 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in Senegal since 1963. #senegal #sénégal #mapschool #mapsolo #maps #mapas #fifa22 #fifaworldcup #roundof16

Senegal | Sine Saloum part 1: traveling with SunuTrip - droning in Saloum | Senegalese Twisted

Hello everyone!

In this video, Youma and I are traveling to Sine Saloum. We are using the same company, SunuTrip, that organized the trip to Bandia last weekend. This time we are not going for a day trip, but a whole weekend away!

We left Dakar at around 10am on Saturday and we arrived in Fatick around 11:30. Then we had to cross the Saloum delta to reach the hotel, which took us about an hour. We stayed at the Hakuna Lounge for a night. The hotel was nice, I'm sure there were plenty activities we could have done, but couldn't due to the rain. Unfortunately.

After we arrived at the hotel, we actually were so tired so we took a time to rest and take a nap. Then we gathered for lunch and some people were ready to swim right after. I on the other hand, was looking for the perfect time to fly my drone. All I can say is that Sine Saloum is a great spot to fly a drone! But you can check that out for yourself. Enjoy!

After almost 3 years, I find myself back in Dakar, Senegal. I plan on staying in Senegal for about 3 months. Mostly to work on creating content, connecting with local creatives and to work on some personal projects such as my next Wolof class.

SENEGAL: Riding under Baobab Trees & the secret salt pools of Palmarin // EPS 5.

Departure from Dakar, riding under Baobab Trees and the secret salt pools of Palmarin - join the second part of the journey through Senegal.

After the clutch discs finally arrived in Dakar we gave our motorcycles a service (thank you, CFAO Dakar for taking care about the Fox). After two weeks of waiting we were finally ready to leave Dakar! And we were on a mission: we were looking for the most beautiful Baobab Trees of the country and the some salt pools that I had seen pictures of online - but actually had no clue about where they really are. Join the journey and find out if we succeded!

//NOTE: videos were recorded before I had a Youtube Channel - initially used for my Instagram stories. That's the reason for the close ups of my face - they were recorded vertically. I still decided to use them - that's the authentic footage I have and I can't change that anymore. Remember: I just started out with filming and cutting - its a learning curve and far from perfect! If you mind seeing my nose hair every now and then, I can highly recommend you to skip this part of the journey and join again when I will publish my next trips after the country Benin with hopefully improved footage!

// Welcome to the journey! I am Lea, a journalist and author and I want to take you with me on a motorcycle overloading adventure to all the wild and beautiful places in the world!

//Join the first stage of my trip around Africa along the coast of Westafrica through 12 countries: Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea-Conakry, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin.
Time of the journey: November 2019 to Feburary 2020

// I circumnavigated the world solo from 2016-2017 and now I am going to all other places I have not seen yet. Now on the channel: my motorcycle trip around africa/ the first stage of the journey through westafrica.
