Surprising local kids with candy in Guinea Conakry - Moto Vlog Day 28 AFRICA

Hello in day 28 started calmly in Kindia BZ hotel. Hosts organised delicious omelette, coffee and freshly cut pineapple. It was quite pleasant Start of the day.

Drove out of our stay and were surprised of what kind of road we took trough night. It was heavily raining all night long! Roads were slippery and quite dangerous. We are happy that we made trough the rough patches without dropping our Motorcycle even once. That felt like quite an achievement for us.

It was incredible for us to see so many animals on the road. not by the road, but ON the ROAD. I think we could never really get used to it. At all times need to look on both sides as well as watch out for the deep put holes on the way.

We made few stops on the way, we were talking to locals about the areas we are about to enter. 80% of people made us quite scared as they were explaining about the rebel activity in the territory. Few weeks ago they have had and incident where people were robbed on the way.. It didn’t sit right with us..

We started to rush trough as fast and as careful as possible so we would be in the next city faster before the sun sets.

On the way we took few pauses as we needed some energy boost. Stopped by small village, bought our drinks, and few cookies as well as few candy that were left at the shop to give the kids that were around our bike as soon as we stopped. In Moments like these I really regret that we don’t know french language, because we missed an opportunity to speak to locals.. maybe next time when we gonna visit.

As soon as we reached Faranah we started to look for the place where we could stay. Area didn’t seem safe, but yet we stayed as we are on budget. We paid 100 000.00 Guinea francs for nights stay (10eur) But the quality of the place... uhh..

Disaster day in Guinea Conakry. Forgot batteries 200 km ride back and tyre puncture - Africa Day 29

Hello in day 29th in Africa.
We couldn’t charge our things (go pro batteries, N-com intercoms, phones) during the night. It was raining all night long, the food made us sick... list goes on.. Grumpy morning with bad mood.

We started our journey to Kissidougou from Faranah. Approximately 230 km in the ride we noticed that we have forgotten our go pro batteries at the place we stayed at..

We took off our bags from the motorcycle, and I stayed behind with them while Dan was going back to fetch forgotten batteries. It was exhausting as we were not relaxed well enough night before.

On the way back Dan drove over screw. honestly it felt like a last drop.. It was just so irritating. Such a time and money waste..

Gladly everything was changing for better as soon as we met again and continued our original route. on the way we were looking for the best place to stay and found Kebson hotel. It really brightened up our mood as the setting changed it was uplifting and relaxing, finally we got decent night sleep.

En la isla de Room

En la isla de Room es donde unicamente se puede dar alguien un baño en el mar, parece mentira, pero resulta que la capital de Guinea (Conakry) está rodeada de costa en un 85 por ciento, muy similar a la Peninsula Iberica, pero nadie se puede bañar, en su dia, cuando era colonia francesa, se hicieron paseos maritimos y algunas playas, ademas del Puerto de Conakry, que es uno de los principales de toda esa zona de Africa, bien es imposible bañarse en sus agua debido a la contaminacion que hay plasticos,aceites,petroleo,basura,zapatillas de todo lo que se pueda uno imaginar, y la unica salida es bañarse en una de sus islas, esta está a 50 minutos en cayuco y la travesia solo se puede hacer en la epoca de sequia, cuando hace mejor tiempo y las aguas estan mas calmadas.

Vollgas nach Ghana - Anstrengende Fahrt zur Elfenbeinküste

Mit dieser Episode habe ich mir sehr schwer getan. Im letzten Video habe ich die unzähligen Checkpoints gezeigt, was ich dieses Mal vermeiden wollte. Dafür kommt etwas mehr die Landschaft zur Geltung und da war es echt nicht einfach Material wegzulassen. Im Prinzip hätte ich die Kamera permanent draufhalten können.
Schlussendlich habe ich es nicht geschafft, auf 20 Minuten zu stutzen. Mal sehen wie ein doppelt so langes Video ankommt. Ich hoffe ihr habt immer noch Spaß beim Mitfahren.

Bei der akustischen Untermalung habe ich mich natürlich wieder beim genialen Gabriel Le Mar bedient :)
