AMAZING GERMAN MEDIEVAL TOWN - NOT destroyed in WWII! // Esslingen, Germany
Esslingen is one of those rare towns NOT destroyed in WWII and still has some of its medieval qualities preserved! This was recommended to us to some of our viewers to check out so when we were driving home from Ulm and saw we were passing by, we really wanted to check it out. We need to go back when we know more about this place but it was a beautiful and fun city to wander around in on a beautiful Sunday afternoon ????

Would you like to study Automotive Engineering in Germany or live in a smaller town as an alternative to the busy Stuttgart? Probably Esslingen am Neckar would be a great shot!
Esslingen is located 20 km (12.5 mi) East of Stuttgart directly at the Neckar River. The University of Applied Sciences attracts many students, which grants it a pleasant young atmosphere. Apart from that, it's very touristic due to its vineyards and the more than 200 half-timbered houses which survived WW2 without great damage.
Most part of the 92,000 inhabitants is employed in the public sector and the industry. Since it's less than 10 km away from the headquarters of Mercedes-Benz, the focus of the industrial activities is on the automotive supply.

A Hike in Esslingen and the vineyards of this medieval city. [visit Esslingen, a must-go in Germany]
The walk through Esslingens vineyards is amazing. You are able to see Esslingen the
medival city with its ,half-timbered houses next to the Neckar river from above.
Esslingen is defenatly a place to see and visit in Germany. It wasn't destroyed in the second world war and still looks really great. I myself was stunned how beautiful it is. The city is not far from Stuttgart and is worth the visit and should be considered when staying in Stuttgart, the Train does take you there quickly.
The hike above the city is about 7 miles long, and you can visit vineyards and have a local vine. The views over the city of Esslingen and the city of Stuttgart are beautiful and if you decide to have an even bigger walk you can visit the Grabchappel , this is a famous point to visit, but it will make your hike a lot longer.

Walking in ESSLINGEN / Germany ???????? - Old Town On A Rainy Afternoon - 4K 60fps (UHD)
Esslingen am Neckar is a city near Stuttgart in the state of Baden-Württemberg. As mentioned in the official name, the city is located on the Neckar River.
We are visiting Esslingen on a rainy day (October 2020) and start our tour right near the train station. The ES mall gets a quick visit on our way to the city center.
We walk on the Bahnhofsstraße as the main shopping street to the Schelztor. The Schelztor is an old tower from the 13th century. One of the last three surviving towers of the former city wall.
In the norther part of the city we head towards the Frauenkirche and then get back towards the center via the St. Dionys church.
There are several nice half-timbered houses in Esslingen which see along our route through the old town. It is a bit rainy now yet we see several sights like the Postmichelbrunnen, Hafenmarkt and the Old Town Hall built around 1420.
In the end we head towards the train station again to end our tour of Esslingen.

Esslingen am Neckar is my current hometown and is a city in Germany located in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. The city has a medieval vibe including more than 860 historic buildings, narrow alleys, and charming canals.
If you've always wanted to see these typical German medieval houses, the half-timbered houses, the so called Fachwerkhaus, well, this is the place to visit in Germany.
Many many half-timbered houses can be seen here in Esslingen.
There are so many of them here I assure you that you will be thrilled.
Esslingen will definitely impress you with all its half-timbered houses.
