Wexford, with its long sandy beaches, is the sunniest County in Ireland, therefore it's a common destination during summer holidays for Irish people.
Two years ago we visited its stunning Hook Peninsula, so this time we chose to travel to different destinations.
We started our day in Courtown visiting its Seal Rescue Center and a very unique beach, and finish our trip in Enniscorthy, one of the most beautiful towns in Ireland.

Enniscorthy | Co. Wexford | Ireland - DJI Air 2S Drone Video 5K
Enniscorthy is the second-largest town in County Wexford, Ireland. At the 2016 census, the population of the town and environs was 11,381. The town is located on the picturesque River Slaney and in close proximity to the Blackstairs Mountains and Ireland's longest beach, Curracloe. The Placenames Database of Ireland sheds no light on the origins of the town's name. It may refer either to the Island of Corthaidh or the Island of Rocks. The cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ferns is located in the town as well as an array of other historical sites such as Enniscorthy Castle and the key battle site of the 1798 Rebellion.

Travel writer Pól Ó Conghaile is in Ireland’s sunny southeast breathing in the sea air along the coastal trails just south of Rosslare. Join him for breathtaking views and lots of Irish history.
Pol’s route takes him through various terrains. Starting out at Rosslare harbour, the trail splits into two routes and Pól visits the beautiful Kirwan’s community garden. He then rejoins the trail going south, descending onto the beach shortly after Rosslare harbour. Along the way he meets locals Madeleine and Padraig Quirke before getting into his stride along the sandy beaches of Co.Wexford.

The Battle of Vinegar Hill, was an engagement during the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on 21 June 1798 when over 13,000 British soldiers launched an attack on Vinegar Hill outside Enniscorthy, County Wexford, the largest camp and headquarters of the Wexford United Irishmen. It marked a turning point in the rebellion, as it was the last attempt by the United Irishmen to hold and defend ground against the British military. The battle was actually fought in two locations: on Vinegar Hill itself and in the streets of nearby Enniscorthy.
