Steam Engine 01 1075 - Trip from Emmerich to Amsterdam 2010 - Rail Traffic 2023
The museum train of the railway museum in Bochum was brought to Emmerich with the museum's own diesel locomotive V100 212 007, where it was taken over by the steam locomotive 01 1075 and driven to Amsterdam.
The steam locomotive 01 1075 is a remarkable piece of railway history that is currently preserved and operated by the Stoom Stichting Nederland (Steam Foundation Netherlands). This locomotive was originally built in 1940 by the German locomotive manufacturer Henschel & Son, and was used extensively throughout Europe during World War II.
After the war, it was acquired by the Dutch railways and used for both passenger and freight services until it was retired in the 1970s. The locomotive was then preserved by the Stoom Stichting Nederland and underwent extensive restoration work to bring it back to its original condition.
Today, the 01 1075 is one of the most famous and beloved steam locomotives in the Netherlands, and is a popular attraction for railway enthusiasts from around the world. Its powerful and graceful design, combined with its rich history and impressive performance capabilities, make it a true icon of the steam era.
