The first passenger service in 48 years for this station? Bentheimer Eisenbahn - Departure -
Well I'm not sure if there were no other special trains that visited the station, but the last passenger service at the station of Laarwald, the last German station before crossing the border to The Netherlands, has been 48 years ago. The last passenger train that crossed that border was 83 years ago.
That is about to change however, as the full line is to be reopened for passenger service in 2025! truly marvelous for those of us living nearby.
For now, the line is still in it's old and only serviced by freight condition, giving this incredible scenic shot of the G2000 pulled special train departing the station as it still is today.

Bad Bentheim, in het Duitse Nedersaksen is een oud stadje waarbij we de focus vooral leggen op Kasteel Bentheim (Burg Bentheim) en zijn geschiedenis.
Kasteel Bentheim is de grootste hoogteburcht van Noordwest-Duitsland en werd voor het eerst in het jaar 1020 vermeld. Al meer dan vijf eeuwen is het complex in het bezit van de graven en vorsten “zu Bentheim und Steinfurt”.
Kasteel Bentheim is dagelijks geopend van 10.00 uur tot 18.00 uur (laatste toegang: 17.15 uur).

Sharing my previous Germany tour to the famous city of Munich, is a very beautiful city with so many wonderful places to see and makes Munich a great travel destination for people that enjoy the outdoors. Part of the charm of this 19th century Romanesque Revival Castle is its location. Situated high on a rocky outcrop overlooking the village of Hohenschwangau at the foot of the German Alps in Bavaria, it’s just breathtaking!
