This is a day in the life of the indigenous Sápara tribe who live within the Ecuadorian Amazon.
Today, their population totals less than 700 people, across 22 communities, and they are constantly battling to keep their culture, traditions and territory in-tact in an ever pressing capitalist world.
The Sápara, also known as Zápara or Záparo, once occupied some 12,000 mi² between the Napo River and the Pastaza in the Amazon rainforest along the border of Ecuador and Peru.
Early in the 20th century, there were some 200,000 Zapara. From the year 2009 on the Ecuadorian Zápara call themselves Sápara. The official name is Nación Sápara del Ecuador (NASE).
The Sápara people have a distinct language, known as Sápara, which is considered critically endangered with only a few fluent speakers remaining. They have a unique cosmology that revolves around their close relationship with the natural world, viewing themselves as an integral part of the forest ecosystem.
They possess extensive knowledge of the medicinal properties of plants and have a profound understanding of the intricate balance of the rainforest.
However, the Sápara people face numerous challenges, including encroachment on their lands by extractive industries, deforestation, and the loss of their cultural heritage. Despite these pressures, the Sápara people continue to fight for their rights, seeking recognition and protection of their territory, language, and way of life. Efforts are being made to preserve their culture and support their sustainable practices, ensuring the survival and well-being of the Sápara people and their unique contributions to the world.

Culebra es un municipio de Puerto Rico que abarca toda la superficie de la isla del mismo nombre. Según el censo de 2020, tiene una población de 1792 habitantes.
Originalmente, después de la colonización, la isla fue llamada Isla Pasaje y San Ildefonso de la Culebra.
Está localizada a 27 kilómetros al este de la Isla Grande de Puerto Rico (isla principal), a 14 kilómetros al norte de la isla-municipio de Vieques y a 19 kilómetros al oeste de St. Thomas.
Posee una superficie estimada de 437,27 km², de la cual 30,16 km² corresponden a tierra firme y 407,11 km² son agua.
Hoy día, Culebra posee 19 playas y una fosa de agua dulce, que es famosa por la cantidad de turistas que la visitan. Culebra es conocida principalmente como «Cuna del Sol Borincano», «Isla Chiquita» y «Última Virgen», y sus residentes son llamados culebrenses.
Playa Flamenco es un balneario en la Isla de Culebra, en el Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico.
Flamenco se encuentra en la costa norte de Culebra. La playa se extiende por una milla alrededor de una bahía protegida, en forma de herradura.
La playa está bordeada por el Refugio nacional de vida silvestre de Culebra, que es en sí una de las más antiguas reservas de vida silvestre dentro de la unidad del servicio de vida silvestre y pesca de los Estados Unidos. Frente a la costa de flamenco, aproximadamente a un cuarto de milla, esta un escollo. La principal características de flamenco es la arena blanca de sus playas.

AVOID These Scams In Istanbul ????????
With peak travel season coming to Istanbul and Turkey, make sure you avoid these scams in Istanbul to keep you safe and protect your money. The lemon street vendor tried to cheat his way more than once into fooling me into buying more items than I originally wanted. Showing he only has big bills and no small change is an easy way street scammers in Istanbul try to cheat you into buying more items than you originally want. Also big hotels such as this Crown plaza IHG are doing false advertisement. Hotels should inform their guest that certain facilities are not working before booking. Most big chain hotels I checked in Turkey warn you on their website that their Hamman and gym is closed which is why I didn't stay with them and chose this hotel which I thought had everything up and running but apparently not. This is false advertisement at its finest and management didn't even care at all when I talked to them about the issue. Istanbul is a great place to visit, rich in food and culture however, keep your eyes open and stay alert to avoid silly scams in Istanbul.

Peruvian food is one of the world’s great cuisines, and I was thrilled to have a chance to visit Peru to learn about and taste the food. In this video, get ready for an ultimate 14-hour straight Peruvian street food tour of Lima!
Here’s everything included in this food tour:
La Parada Market - If you love vegetable markets, I don’t think anywhere else in Lima is as colorful, energetic, and vibrant. This is the beating heart of Lima’s food supply, and I fully enjoyed walking around and seeing the diversity of ingredients from around Peru all in one busy wholesale Market.
Caldo Cesar - Elias navigated us to Caldo Cesar, a restaurant that was incredibly packed and specializes in some of Lima’s best caldo de gallina - chicken hen soup. It was one of the best chicken soups I’ve ever had in my life. Total Price - 52 PEN ($15.71) for 4
Ceviche Cart - One of the national dishes and most beloved dishes of Peru is ceviche (raw fish in lime juice), and we walked over to the section of the market where they sell fish and seasonings for ceviche and had a plate of fresh Peruvian ceviche. It was delicious. Price - 8 PEN ($2.42)
Fruit Tasting - This was pretty unplanned, we just walked around the fruit market and tasted about a dozen types of fruit. My favorite fruits were the Sanky - Fruit produced by a cactus, Camu camu - Native to the Amazon rainforest, and Lucuma - Gold of the Incas.
Papa rellena - This is one of the most common of all Peru street foods, a papa rellena, or a Peruvian stuffed potato. I was impressed - one of the best fried potatoes maybe I’ve ever had in my life.
Tocosh - This fermented potato pulp, was invented by the Incas, and it’s not for the faint of heart. I thought it was unique and pretty delicious, and fun to eat, and it contains natural penicillin.
Papa con huevo - This was ok, but just basic, a potato with egg on top and doused in sauces. This is again, a classic part of Peruvian street food, especially enjoyed by children.
Sanguchería El Chinito - “I practically moved to Peru just for this sandwich.” - Timour Ghoneim. That says it all about this legendary chicharrón Peruvian sandwich located at Plaza de Armas. And he was right, you would move to Lima for this sandwich.
Don Tito Pollos a la Brasa - If you ask Peruvians what is one of their comfort foods, I’m guessing pollo a la brasa would be a common answer. Pollo a la brasa is Pervuian rotisserie chicken, but somehow they just do it better in Peru. Total Price - 84 PEN ($25.39)
Anticuchos Manuela - Without a doubt, this was one of my favorite parts of this entire Peru street food tour of Lima, anticuchos, or grilled cow hearts. They are truly majestic, so juicy and flavorful, you won’t believe it. Price - 10 PEN ($3.02)
Picarones - Finally to end this ultimate street food in Peru tour of Lima, we ordered some picarones, donuts made from sweet potato and pumpkin. They are addictively delicious and should be eaten when you’re in Lima. Price - 6 PEN ($1.81) per box

El 9 de Mayo de 1916 - hace un Siglo -se inaugura la carretera que vá a Ocumare de la Costa del estado Aragua, Venezuela. La Oficina del Cronista del Municipio Mario Briceño Iragorry, presenta la primera de una serie de crónicas donde se muestran secuencias del transcurrir histórico de la comarca, convertida al presente en pujante localidad y referencia afectiva de todos los mariobricenses.
