Travelling to EL CALAFATE: Trout with Blue Cheese & First Impressions of Town (Patagonia, Argentina)
We're finally travelling to El Calafate, the land of glaciers, icebergs and snow in Patagonia, Argentina! In this travel vlog, we'll show you the journey there. It was a 4-hour bus trip from Río Gallegos to El Calafate and we were treated to some beautiful scenery along the way, ranging from Patagonian steppe to snow-capped mountains in the horizon.
Once we arrived in town, we went in search of food and had a trout dish with blue cheese, potatoes and pasta. We ate at a restaurant called 'Isabel' that specializes in dishes cooked on a 'plough disc', which is a traditional way of cooking that has its roots in the farming and agricultural communities.
Then it was time to book some tours from El Calafate. We really wanted to visit estancias and see the glaciers up close, so we booked a few different excursions, which you'll be seeing in the next episodes!
Lastly, we'll sit down to share our first impression of El Calafate, and we'll also give you a tour of the A-frame cottage we rented in town.

Travelling to ARGENTINA ???????? | This MONSTER MILANESA Was Our First Meal Back in BUENOS AIRES! ????
We are kicking off this South America trip! In this first episode, we travelled back to Argentina and landed in Buenos Aires - the most logical place to begin this 3-month trip. After taking a taxi into the city and checking in to our apartment, our first order of business was to go in search of food. On the flight over, we had been talking about what we wanted our first meal back in Buenos Aires to be, and my dad was craving milanesa. Well, lucky for us, the AirBnB we rented was just a few blocks away from one of the most famous milanesa restaurants in the whole city! We ate at Los Orientales, a place that has won many awards for its monster milanesas. If you haven't heard of this dish before, it's a breaded meat cutlet (kind of like a Wiener Schnitzel or an Italian Cotoletta), that is super popular in Argentina. We got the biggest portion on the menu which came on a platter loaded with French fries, potato salad, tomatoes, eggs, red peppers, ham, cheese, and probably a whole lot more! We didn't believe it would be enough for 3 people, so we ordered a second milanesa, and this outing quickly turned into a food challenge!

VIAJANDO A ARGENTINA Otra Vez ✈️ + Comiendo La MEJOR MILANESA en Buenos Aires en LOS ORIENTALES! ????????
Qué es esto? Viajando a Argentina nuevamente?! Hace poco terminamos de publicar los videos del viaje que hicimos por Argentina al principio del 2019, pero resulta que hicimos 2 viajes al país ese año! Lo disfrutamos tanto que a fines de año, regresamos por segunda vez a seguir recorriendo algunas de las provincias que todavía nos quedaban por visitar y también para conocer a nuestros queridos vecinos en Uruguay y Chile.
Mi papa, Daniel, se vino con nosotros por 6 semanas y juntos visitamos: Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Tucumán, Salta, y Jujuy, antes de cruzar a Uruguay. Después de esas 6 semanas, Samuel y yo continuamos rumbo a Patagonia, también cruzando a Chile.
Este es el primer episodio de la serie, viajando de Canadá a Argentina via Toronto - Santiago de Chile - Buenos Aires.
Lo primero que hicimos al llegar en Buenos Aires, fue ir en busca de una de las mejores milanesas en la ciudad. Muchos nos habían recomendado la milanesa en Los Orientales, así que esa fue nuestra primera parada. Nos pedimos la milanesa de la casa que resultó ser una tremenda montaña de comida y más que suficiente para 3 personas!
La milanesa en Los Orientales vino con papas fritas, ensalada rusa, jamón, queso, huevos duros, tomates, morrón dulce, y perejil. Fue una tremenda comilona y con las justas terminamos la bandeja.
Bueno, ese fue nuestro primer día de regreso en Argentina. Al final del video les contaremos un poco más sobre nuestros planes para este viaje.
