Landshut is a city by the River Isar in Bavaria, southern Germany. It’s well known for the Trausnitz Castle, with its views across the old town.
We stayed in Landshut by accident as we booked accommodation in Munich in the wrong month - the accommodation that was left was either super pricey or pretty crappy. So we booked ourselves into Landshut, which is only a 50 min train ride away from Munich.
What to do in Landshut:
1. Walk down Altstadt
2. Walk down Neustadt
3. Enjoy a late afternoon stroll by the river
4. Walk to Trausnitz Castle and check out the beautiful views over the old town.
5. Visit St Martin's Church

A walk through Straubing, Germany
Straubing / Germany is a city in Lower Bavaria, located between Regensburg and Passua. Located on the banks of the Danube river, Straubing is also one of the gateways to the Bavarian Forest region. The medium-sized city of Straubing has around 50,000 inhabitants and is home to a university.
On this walk we see the central city of Straubing around the Ludwigsplatz and Theresienplatz. We also visit the Danube banks and get a good impression of Straubing with its small streets and relaxed atmosphere

Landshut, Germany - the colourful houses of Landshut, the architecture of Landshut in Germany. Let's travel to the town of Landshut in Germany and let's admire the traditional colorful gothic houses in the Old Town of Landshut, historical town in Bavaria (close to Munich), Germany. Landshut is a town in Bavaria in the south-east of Germany. Landshut is situated in the centre of Lower Bavaria, and is part of the Alpine foothills. The River Isar runs through the city centre. Landshut is about 72 kilometres (45 mi) northeast of Munich.
Landshut was founded in 1204, when the duke of Bavaria built a fortress there, and was chartered in 1279. It remained a ducal seat until 1503 and was the site of the university of the Bavarian state from 1802 to 1826. An important rail junction, Landshut received more than 12,000 refugees after World War II, stimulating new industries such as electrotechnics and machinery. Other industries include brewing, milling, chocolate making, printing, and the manufacture of textiles and clothing, wood and paper products, and glass goods.
The city retains its medieval character. It is dominated by the ducal castle of Trausnitz (13th–16th century) and by the Gothic church of St. Martin (1389–1450), with one of the world’s highest brick steeples (436 feet [133 metres]). Other landmarks include the Renaissance ducal palace (1536–43); the Cistercian nunnery of Seligenthal (founded 1232), with a Rococo church; and the former Dominican monastery, which was the seat of the university. There are other medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings, as well as many colorful gothic houses.

Heute regnete es viel, deshalb entschieden wir uns für eine Stadtbesichtigung und fuhren nach Deggendorf. Dort klarte das Wetter immer mehr auf, so dass wir am Nachmittag sogar noch die Sonne gesehen haben. Wir haben einen kleinen Stadtbummel unternommen und zwei Kirchen besucht. Wir wünschen Euch viel Spaß bei unserem kleinen Rundgang.

Landshut, Germany - the Church of Saint Martin (Saint Martin's Church) in Landshut. Let's travel to Germany and let's visit the city of Landshut. We will go to The Church of St. Martin in Landshut which is a medieval church in the German city located in the state of Bavaria. The Church of St. Martin in Landshut is a Brick Gothic landmark and it is the tallest church in Bavaria, and the tallest brick building as well as church in the world. It is also the 2nd tallest brick structure in the world (after Anaconda Smelter Stack), made without steel supports. St. Martin's church has a height of 130.6 metres (428 ft).
Landshut is a city straddling the River Isar in Bavaria, southern Germany. It’s known for the medieval Trausnitz Castle, with its views across the old town. Within the castle is the Chamber of Art and Curiosities, displaying artifacts collected by the Wittelsbach dukes. In the old town, Gothic St. Martin’s Church has a tall brick tower. Close to the Isar is the Ländtor, a gate from the town’s medieval fortifications.

St Englmar im bayrischen Wald 2020
Der Nationalpark bayerischer Wald ist immer einen Besuch wert und er ist auch nicht umsonst eines der beliebtesten Urlaubs- und Ausflugsziele für Wanderer oder Mountainbiker in Deutschland.
Grund genug für uns , auch ein paar Tage hier zu verbringen.
Zum Anfang etwas über unser Appartement…
Malerisch im bayerischen Wald gelegen und von zahlreichen, interessanten Wanderwegen umgeben, liegt das Predigstuhlresort St. Englmar - ein in den 70ern erbauter, großen Urlaubskomplex. Wir waren in Haus 4 untergebracht. Das Zimmer war geräumig, mit Küchenzeile, FlachTV und modernisiertem Dusch-/WC-Raum sowie Balkon ausgestattet.
Das Objekt besaß ein modernes Hallen-Schwimmbad mit Außenbereich, Sauna sowie diverse Hometrainer bzw. Fitnessgeräte oder Tischtennisplatten.
Für Corona gut gerüstet war auch das Restaurant. In zwei Schichten wurden Frühstück sowie Abendbrot gereicht. Buffet gab es keines, man bekam am Tresen sein Wunschessen zusammengestellt incl. Getränken – früh wie abends. Früh erhielt jeder auf Wunsch an den Tisch geliefert eine Wurst-Käseplatte. Brötchen, Müsli, Konfitüren, Kaffee, Säfte holte man sich mittels Mundschutz direkt an der Theke ab.
Gleiches galt für abends. Man bekam einen bunten Salatteller oder Suppe an den Tisch geliefert und das täglich wechselnde Hauptgericht bzw. Desserts gab’s wie früh an der Theke.
Das gesamte Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Verbessert werden könnte noch die Logistik – sprich: die Abstimmung zwischen Hotelrezeption und Restaurant betreffs der Tischbelegung. Fast täglich kam es vor, dass in Schicht 1 unser Tisch 8 wie auch andere doppelt belegt waren. Das war in der Vorferiensaison kein Problem, da genügend freie Tische zur Verfügung standen. In den kommenden Wochen könnte das allerdings problematisch werden.
Viel Sehenswertes oder Erwandernswertes gab und gibt es rund ums Resort bzw. in St. Englmar zu erleben. Nach dem Abendessen wurde stets gewandert. Sehr interessant ist der gegenüber dem Resort gelegene Wanderpfad bzw. Rundweg zum 1.048 m hohen Pröller, dem bekanntesten Berg um St. Englmar und eines sehr bedeutenden Skigebietes im bayerischen Wald. Die ca. 3 Kilometer dort hinauf waren sehr angenehm. Interessant hier auch der Abstecher zum Saustein. Der Weg war flach und wurde durch zahlreiche, interessante Schrifttafeln, Holzskulpturen rechter- wie linkerseits gesäumt und mit einem wunderbaren Blick am Gipfel belohnt. Bei guter Sicht kann man von hier bis zum Großen Arber oder Hohen Bogen blicken.
Auch im Waldwipfelpfad St. Englmar hat sich einiges getan in den letzten 7 Jahren. In über 30 m Höhe, quasi über den Baumspitzen des Waldes kann man den Lebensraum Wald hautnah erleben - mit zahlreichen Info- und Bildertafeln, vielen Skulpturen, Schaukästen usw. – ideal und lehrreich nicht nur für Kinder aller Altersgruppen. Interaktive Schaukästen zeigen heimische Vogelarten als Modell, deren Ruflaute, Nester und Eierformen.
Von der Aussichtsplattform ist der Blick in den bayerischen Wald und die Alpen gigantisch bei guter Sicht.
Ein Blickfang für alt & jung ist aber auch der Minizoo mit Alpakas, Schafen oder Känguruhs.
Scharfsinnigkeit und Wissen konnte man an verschiedenen Modellen oder Tafeln testen.
Gespannt sein darf man vielleicht noch in diesem Jahr auf den neuen Waldturm, wo die Bauarbeiten dank Corona leider in den letzten Monaten ins Stocken geraten sind nun aber wieder auf Hochtouren…

Располагается город всего в 50-ти километрах от Мюнхена, и буквально в 10-ти от международного аэропорта, что и делает его одним из привлекательных близлежащих городов для посещения туристов.
