EDGEWATER PARK CLEVELAND I: EXPLORING, MEDITATIVE WALK

Today, we take a 14-minute walk around Clevelands Upper Edgewater Park
on a gorgeous summer day. On our way, we will stop by 2 monuments: an
early 1900s era picnic pavilion, the K-9 beach, play areas, the lakefront bikeway and the various grassy meadows intertwine the upper
portion of the park. Stay tuned for beautiful, expansive views of Lake Erie and the Cleveland skyline.

The 147-acre park is the westernmost part of the Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation. Edgewater Park offers playground areas, picnic tables, beachfront, boat launching, biking and hiking trails, a fishing pier, concession stand, parking and plenty to explore. Upper
Edgewater is the westernmost third of the area containing multiple trails and scenic attractions. The land where the park resides was
acquired by the City of Cleveland in 1804 with the help of William Stichcomb, who was also the architect of Cleveland's Emerald Necklace
park system. History surrounds the park and it is truly a peaceful place for the community that anchors the westside of Cleveland.

EDGEWATER PARK CLEVELAND IV: WHISKEY ISLAND,WENDY PARK + COAST GUARD STATION WALKING MEDITATION
In this video we explore Whiskey Island, Wendy Park, and the old United States Coast Guard Station at the Cleveland Metroparks Edgewater Lakefront Reservation, in Cleveland, Ohio. This video is an oddly satisfying way to help you relieve all stress. It's a sunny day in Cleveland, join us on a virtual urban hike with water and nature sounds. As you watch, look out for beautiful vistas, cloud formations, and wonderful trees in nature. Listen closely to the seashore, birds, and cicadas as they take you on your favorite summertime escape. We also explore the sometimes mysterious former US Coast Guard Station that was operating until the late 1970s, but was left abandoned until recently.
Whiskey Island is the landmass located immediately east of Edgewater Parks lower Edgewater park area. Whiskey Island is not really an island it’s a peninsula these days, and it contains the land Wendy Park is on. There is a one mile road that connects the Lower Edgewater and Whiskey Island called Whiskey Island Drive. You can find this road at the roundabout in lower Edgewater if you head East.
The current land layout was created in 1827 when the river's mouth was moved to its present location. The business district of the early Cleveland was facing the river, and “The Flats” is where steamers, and canal boats exchanged imported goods for the products of local industry. Today, the island is about a mile long and situated around industrial property such as a salt mines, and train tracks.
The area's protection from larger corporate development was due in large part to the efforts of activist Ed Hauser, known as the Mayor of Whiskey Island. Wendy Park at Whiskey Island opened to the public in 2005. Park amenities include sand volleyball courts, a prairie garden, a restaurant-bar, kayak launch and the former US Coast Guard Station. Wendy Park has some truly beautiful views of Lake Erie, Clevelands Skyline, and Lakewoods' Gold Coast.

Walking Miami's Luxurious Residential Areas from Downtown to Edgewater (February 17, 2021)
I walk from Miami's Downtown to the Luxurious Residential Area of Edgewater. This was a very informative stroll through the city, starting at the busy Biscayne Boulevard, walking past some cultural institutions, and then heading into the quiet Edgewater neighborhood.
