Madison, Wisconsin is the second largest city in the state and serves as its capital. It's situated in a scenic region between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona, and is regularly rated as one of the top places in the nation to raise a family. Madison is known for its bustling art and music scene. It's known to be one of the major cultural hubs of the midwest and has a lively nightlife scene to boot.

Even though it's a fairly large city, it still manages to capture that small-town vibe, largely thanks to its condensed downtown area, large student population, and diversified neighborhoods. While you can find most of its art galleries, museums, and sciences centers downtown, other alluring attractions can be found in Madison's surrounding areas be it along the banks of those two lakes we just mentioned or on the campus of the University of Wisconsin.

Lovers of the great outdoors will definitely feel right at home when visiting Madison. Nature lovers shouldn't pass on the chance to check out the University of Wisconsin's Arboretum which is said to be one of the best of its kind in the country. And for travelers visiting with children, both the Madison Children's Museum and Henry Vilas Zoo are both absolute must-see destinations! Also, a visit to Madison wouldn't be complete without taking a stroll down State Street Madison's main thoroughfare. It's there where you'll find some of Madison's finest restaurants and cafes, as well as shops, boutiques, and galleries.

Worst RV Campground Ever // (And How we Saved our Weekend!)

***SHADY GROVE CAMPGROUND, DENVER PA***

One of our biggest camping fears came to life this past weekend as we pulled into possibly the worlds worst RV campground. While the spots were tight, the sewer connections were not and we found ourselves in a bad camping situation pretty quickly.

After a confusing run in with some of the seasonal campers, we decided it wasn't worth the stress we had to save our weekend - and in this case we only had one option. To hook our Shadow Cruiser Travel Trailer back up and head home.

Currently holding the record for our shortest camping trip (19 hours between check in and check out) it taught us a lot about vetting campgrounds, when to call it quits, and what red flags to look out for when looking for a place to camp with our travel trailer.

5 Best Easy Hikes In Grand Teton National Park | Best National Park For Wildlife

Wondering about the 5 best easy hikes in Grand Teton National Park? We went exploring Grand Teton National Park and found 5 easy and gorgeous hikes that you should not miss. This is by far one of the best experiences we had in recent years, not just because of the beauty of the Tetons, or because we run into a Bear and a Moose, but because of how majestic they are. In our Grand Teton adventure, we hike to 4 amazing lakes, and we even ran into a Mama bear with her Cub. We also visited Schwabacher Landing for another incredible encounter with a Moose.
Our adventure was filled with gorgeous nature, Marmots, bison and more.

1. Phelps Lake is located in Grand Teton National Park, in the U. S. state of Wyoming. The natural lake is located at the entrance to Death Canyon in the southern section of the park. A number of hiking trails can be found near the lake, the most popular being a 1.8-mile roundtrip hike to the Phelps Lake overlook. This moderate loop trail provides access to Phelps Lake as well as views into Death Canyon and the southern end of the Teton Range. Start the trail from the Laurence S. Rockefeller Preserve and follow the trail as it loops Phelps Lake. Those looking to extend the hike can add the Aspen Ridge or Boulder Ridge trails on the way to and from the lake.

2. The Jenny Lake Trail is a 7.1-mile long hiking trail which circles Jenny Lake, located in Grand Teton National Park in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The trail begins at the Jenny Lake campground or can be accessed at several other trailheads.
Jenny Lake is located in Grand Teton National Park in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The lake was formed approximately 12,000 years ago by glaciers pushing rock debris which carved Cascade Canyon during the last glacial maximum, forming a terminal moraine which now impounds the lake.

3. The Leigh Lake Trail is a 5-mile long hiking trail in Grand Teton National Park in the U.S. state of Wyoming. For its entire length, it is also part of the Valley Trail. The trail starts at the Leigh Lake trailhead and follows the eastern shores of String and Leigh Lakes and extends to Trapper Lake.

4. Schwabacher’s Landing is a spot on the Snake River, almost exactly east of Grand Teton, where the terrain flattens out and allows easy access to the river. There is a dirt road coming off the main highway and down to various trailheads. There is a four-mile hiking trail that meanders along the banks of the Snake River past beaver dams and partially chewed trees. Throughout the hike are picturesque views of the Teton Mountains and their reflections in the water.

5. The Taggart Lake Trail is a 3-mile (4.8 km) long round-trip hiking trail in Grand Teton National Park in the U.S. state of Wyoming. The trail is accessed from the Taggart Lake trailhead and provides access to Taggart Lake, with views of the lake and the Teton Range. At Taggart Lake, the trail intercepts the Valley Trail, which heads north towards Bradley Lake or south to Death Canyon. Using the Valley Trail and the Bradley Lake Trail, a loop hike starting from the Taggart Lake Trailhead is 5.9 mi (9.5 km) long.

Stopping in Natchez, MS on the American Queen steamboat

In this video, speaker and longtime group travel host Charlie Adams takes you on board the American Queen steamboat to hear Mark Twain, and then into Natchez, Mississippi. Natchez was settled by the French in 1716 and is the oldest permanent settlement on the Mississippi River. Natchez once had 500 millionaires, more than any other city except New York City.

During the cotton boon before the Civil War, beautiful mansions were built throughout Natchez. Charlie will show you those as well as the Eola Hotel, which is thought to be haunted.

This was part of the 7 day American Queen steamboat trip from New Orleans to Memphis that Charlie hosted in November of 2013. The trip was a big success with the group of travelers. Charlie will host another steamboat trip for Edgerton's Travel in August, 2015 on the Mississippi River, going from St Louis to St Paul. For information you can contact Edgerton's at 1-800-643-4604

Since 2006 Charlie has hosted over 30 group trips. He shares inspirational and humorous stories along the way and produces a 60 minute dvd documentary of the trip for all travelers. Here on youtube he shares parts of those documentaries to give you an idea of places you may want to travel one day.

Visiting Angola Prison while on a trip up the Mississippi

In this video, inspirational speaker and Edgerton's group travel host Charlie Adams takes you inside Angola Prison, once called America's deadliest prison by Time Magazine. Charlie Frazier, an inmate who ran with Pretty Boy Floyd as well as Bonnie and Clyde, had murdered two guards in the cane fields where the inmates work. They put him in the last cell on the left and the door and window were welded closed. He was welded in for 7 years until he became ill and died. In this video, you will see the area where he was welded in.

Since Burl Cain became Angola's warden in 1995, Angola has used faith based programs to help turn the prison into a model program.

This video starts with the American Queen - the world's largest steamboat - powering up the Mississippi River from New Orleans to St Francesville, Louisiana. You will go onboard to see some of the steamboat and then hop onto a bus to drive to Angola prison.
