Old Town (Medieval) area of Esslingen am Neckar, Germany
Esslingen am Neckar in Germany has been pretty much thriving since around since the year 800. Because it was spared from much of the bombings of WWII, the old town area remained pretty much intact. Walking through here is really a step back in time, with parts of the old city wall and tower still standing. The whole area is full of beautiful half-timbered houses that Germany is known for. The Rossneckar-canal, part of the Neckar River, runs through the city, with many homes built right over it. Not to be missed if you ever visit Germany - hope you enjoy the video snippets we filmed and are enticed to consider coming here one day. Zwischen Winnenden, Berglen und Remshalden befindet sich die Buocher Höhe.
Rund um den kleinen Ort Buoch bieten sich zahlreiche Freizeitmöglichkeiten.
Wir starten unseren kleinen Ausflug oberhalb von Grunbach an einem der
zahlreichen Aussichtspunkte.
Wer sich schon ganz früh morgens auf den Weg macht, der hat Ihn fast für sich alleine.
Den Blick über große Teile des Remstals.
Nachdem wir die fantastischen Aussichten genossen haben, machen wir uns auf
Richtung Freizeitgelände Buocher Höhe
Hier ist der ideale Startpunkt um das über 500 Meter hoch gelegene Areal zu erkunden.
Hier auf der weitläufigen Anlage muss es niemandem langweilig werden.
Egal ob Freesbee, Basketball oder Yoga, Platz ist genug vorhanden.
Der große Spielplatz und die zahlreichen Grillstellen runden das Angebot ab.
Wer schon im Herbst an seiner Sommerfigur arbeiten will, der ist im Muskelgarten
bestens aufgehoben
In unmittelbarer Nähe befinden sich noch Tennisplätze, eine Reitanlage und
zahlreiche Einkehrmöglichkeiten.
Besonders für Kinder ist der kleine Abstecher zum Tiergehege dringend zu empfehlen.
1954 wurde der 22 Meter hohe Wasser- und Aussichtsturm erbaut.
Von hier oben bieten sich einem atemberaubende Ausblicke

Ein Geheimtipp ist die Buocher Höhe sicher nicht.
Speziell bei guten Wetter und an den Wochenenden herrscht hier reger Betrieb.
Aufgrund der größe der Anlage findet hier trotzdem jeder noch ein ruhiges Plätzchen

Esslingen am Neckar is a city in the Stuttgart Region of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany, seat of the District of Esslingen as well as the largest city in the district. Within Baden-Württemberg it is the 11th largest city.
It is located on the Neckar River, about 14 kilometres (9 miles) southeast of Stuttgart city center. The regions surrounding the city of Esslingen are also mostly developed.
Esslingen was a free imperial city for several centuries until it was annexed by Württemberg in 1802.
The German Timber-Frame Road passes through the city.
Prehistoric times
There is archaeological evidence that what is now the city of Esslingen was settled since the Neolithic period. Traces of human settlement found at the site of the city church date back to around 1000 B.C.
Roman times
In the 1st century AD the Esslingen region became part of the Roman Empire. During this period a Roman warehouse was located in the area of Oberesslingen. The nearest major Roman settlements and garrisons were at Cannstatt and Köngen.

Autofahrt durch Blaubeuren auf der Schwäbischen Alb
Blaubeuren liegt am Fuße der Schwäbischen Alb, 16 km westlich von Ulm. Die bei der Gebietsreform 1975 eingemeindeten heutigen Ortsteile Seißen mit Wennenden und der Steigziegelhütte sowie Sonderbuch, Asch und die Hessenhöfe befinden sich nördlich auf der Hochebene der Schwäbischen Alb, die Dörfer Beiningen, Erstetten und Pappelau südlich auf dem Hochsträß. Gerhausen sowie der Hauptort Blaubeuren liegen im Blautal. Der im Aachtal gelegene Stadtteil Weiler ist, wie auch Gerhausen, weitgehend mit dem Hauptort Blaubeuren zusammengewachsen.

Die Eßlinger Zeitung ist bei der neuen Führung Esslingen von oben mit dabei. Stadtführerin Doris Paul führt die Besucher vom Dicken Turm der Burg bis zu einem Glas Kessler-Sekt auf der Dachterrasse des Hotels Park Consul. Was dazwischen liegt, sehen Sie hier.
Wolkig mit Aussicht auf Bier | Nordalbfels Deggingen | Schwäbische Alb
Wir haben uns aufgemacht auf den Nordalbfels. Der Anstieg war dann doch etwas steil, gleich zu Anfang. Da ist Kondition gefragt. Aber wenn man mal oben ist und das ist man ziemlich schnell. Ist es nur noch ein Spaziergang mit Aussicht auf Bier???? Das von der freiwilligen Feuerwehr bewirtschaftete Häuschen liegt nicht nur super in der Natur, es gibt auch sehr gutes Essen.
