Worst RV Campground Ever // (And How we Saved our Weekend!)
***SHADY GROVE CAMPGROUND, DENVER PA***
One of our biggest camping fears came to life this past weekend as we pulled into possibly the worlds worst RV campground. While the spots were tight, the sewer connections were not and we found ourselves in a bad camping situation pretty quickly.
After a confusing run in with some of the seasonal campers, we decided it wasn't worth the stress we had to save our weekend - and in this case we only had one option. To hook our Shadow Cruiser Travel Trailer back up and head home.
Currently holding the record for our shortest camping trip (19 hours between check in and check out) it taught us a lot about vetting campgrounds, when to call it quits, and what red flags to look out for when looking for a place to camp with our travel trailer.

We are so excited to share this treasure with you! The Pillow Thompson House 1897 is an amazing example of Victorian Queen Anne design.
This exquisite home is one of the finest examples of George Barber architecture in Arkansas. The plans were purchased from the Sears and Roebuck catalog, but the materials were sourced from the builders own lumber mills. The materials inside are gorgeous examples of Arkansas pine, oak and poplar. The transoms over the pocket doors have always contained burled wood, never glass.
This home stayed in the Thompson family until it was donated to the University of Arkansas Community College of Phillips county. The historic home has undergone an extensive restoration thanks to generous donations from donors, and now serves as a community event center and is open for tours Wednesday-Saturday from 10-4.

Inside/Outside look at 1885 Eaton County Courthouse | Charlotte Michigan
Located in downtown Charlotte Michigan, is the old 1885 Eaton County Courthouse.
This is a gathering place for many events held in Charlotte, from Charlotte Celebrates in June to Frontier Days in September,. In December, you can find Santa greeting the kids on the corner. Several craft shows are events are held. This is your best time to find the courthouse open for tours (nominal fee).
In the basement, there are businesses that run from the courthouse too.
Next door is the old Sherriff's residence. There used to be a jail on the back, but it is no longer there.
We also took advantage of one of the times the courthouse was open and went inside (During the Oddities Festival). They were featuring Charlotte's Sanatorium. But you can see the other items they have on display as well.
A room is still a courthouse. A school house is set up in another, how a house would be set up.
It's truly a gem to check out when they are open.
