Enjoy a jam-packed day in one of the national parks or ski at one of the largest resorts in the country. Whatever you choose you won’t be disappointed as each of these towns offers stunning views and one-of-a-kind scenery.
Some of the towns on this list are lesser known and include some hidden gems. As a local, I go off the tourist path to find some unique and scenic towns to visit and with little tourist crowds.

Located on the western banks of the north-flowing Red River of the North, in a flat region known as the Red River Valley, is the historic city of Grand Forks, North Dakota. Originally called Les Grandes Fourches by French fur traders from Canada, who had long worked and lived in the region, steamboat captain Alexander Griggs platted a community after being forced to winter there. The post office was established in 1870, and the town was incorporated on February 22, 1881. The city was named for its location at the fork of the Red River and the Red Lake River.

Splashers of the South Seas Waterpark WATERSLIDES POV at Canada Inns Grand Forks
Take a ride on all the waterslides at the Splashers of the South Seas waterpark located within the Canad Inns Grand Forks. This huge hotel, entertainment, and waterpark complex has three slides, along with a lazy river, hot tub, activity pool, and kids area.
Canad Inns has built Splashers to help offer waterpark entertainment to their guests. Admission is discounted if you stay at the hotel! The Canad Inns Grand Forks seems pretty nice too.
Unique to this park is the Rotarunga bowl slide. It's very strange to have a huge tube slide in a park of this size, especially since they don't have any other large attractions. Still, its a good slide and a pretty unique park layout!
It's lots of fun for a quick stop if you're in the area!
