A beautiful Danube bend cycling route from the northern border of Budapest via Dunakeszi, Göd, Sződliget, Vác, Verőce, Kismaros, Nagymaros and Zebegény to Szob along the Eurovelo6 international cycling route.
Date: 23 March 2022.

Duration: 5-6 hours

The full day tour starts at the tram stop at Budapest, Káposztásmegyer, Megyeri út. Passing through Megyeri road and Óceánárok streets, you will reach Váci road, where you will join the Eurovelo 6 cycle route from Újpest. Passing under the Megyeri Bridge and then Székesdűlő, we follow the newly built high-quality cycle path alongside the main road, which bends at the roundabout before Dunakeszi, leaving the busy road. After a few kilometres you will reach Folyam Street, which will take you to the banks of the Danube and the beach of Dunakeszi. After Horányi Rév, we leave the direct Danube bank via Kiscsurgó Street and cycle along the Pihenő promenade to Göd. In Göd we meander through low-traffic small streets, then we reach the waterworks and end up directly at the Danube again. From here on, the route follows more and more of a nature trail, so if you don't want to cycle through Budapest on the cycle path along Váci út or on the quiet but still urban routes, you should take the train to Göd station and join the Eurovelo route via Köztársaság street.
Passing through Felsőgöd and Sződliget, often in wooded or waterside surroundings, the journey continues towards Vác. After passing through Vác, the route continues along the Danube to the Kőhíd housing estate, then briefly moves away from the river and climbs up a slight hill to the main road to Verőce. After Verőce and the close-knit village of Kismaros, we leave the small town environment behind and pass through quiet fields to reach Nagymaros. In the town, it's worth taking a break, sitting on one of the terraces and admiring the Visegrád Castle on the other side. After Nagymaros, a few kilometres further on, you'll be back on the main road, which is already less frequented here, on a safe, separate cycle path to Zebegény. From Zebegény we take a very nice coastal road to our final destination, Szob.

Treno speciale d'agenzia ungherese Heart of Central Europe - MAV RAIL TOURS organizzato dal tour operator australiano Constellation Journeys. Il convoglio era composto da un variegato materiale rotabile ungherese trainato in doppia simmetrica dalle locomotive E402B.113 e E402B.144. Il percorso del tour durava circa due settimane partendo da Budapest con fermate a Zagabria, Lubiana, Verona, Milano, Zurigo, Salisburgo e terminando la corsa a Vienna. In questo video il treno effettuava la tratta Verona-Milano Centrale-Chiasso. Riprese a Milano Lambrate in transito vs Milano Centrale per permettere ai turisti di scendere e visitare la città, successivamente il ricovero del treno al deposito di Milano Martesana in attesa della ripartenza nel pomeriggio ed infine il transito a Milano Greco Pirelli in direzione Chiasso. The tour route lasted about two weeks starting in Budapest with stops in Zagreb, Ljubljana, Verona, Milan, Zurich, Salzburg and ending in Vienna. In this video, the train was travelling on the Verona-Milano Centrale-Chiasso route. Shot at Milano Lambrate in transit vs Milano Centrale to allow tourists to get off and visit the city, then the train's return to the Milano Martesana depot awaiting departure in the afternoon and finally transit at Milano Greco Pirelli in the direction of Chiasso. Der Konvoi bestand aus einer Vielzahl ungarischer Fahrzeuge, die in Doppelsymmetrie von den Lokomotiven E402B.113 und E402B.144 gezogen wurden. Die Reise dauerte etwa zwei Wochen und begann in Budapest mit Halt in Zagreb, Ljubljana, Verona, Mailand, Zürich und Salzburg und endete in Wien. In diesem Video war der Zug auf der Strecke Verona-Milano Centrale-Chiasso unterwegs. Gedreht wurde in Milano Lambrate im Transit gegen Milano Centrale, damit die Touristen aussteigen und die Stadt besichtigen können, dann kehrt der Zug zum Depot Milano Martesana zurück und wartet auf die Abfahrt am Nachmittag und schließlich auf den Transit in Milano Greco Pirelli in Richtung Chiasso. Záběr byl pořízen v Miláně Lambrate při tranzitu proti Milánu Centrale, aby turisté mohli vystoupit a navštívit město, poté návrat vlaku do depa Milán Martesana, kde čekal na odpolední odjezd, a nakonec tranzit v Miláně Greco Pirelli ve směru na Chiasso.
