সৃষ্টি কর্তার অদ্ভুত সৃষ্টি || Bakreswar Hot Water Spring || Birbhum || West Bengal
বীরভূম জেলার সদর সিউড়ি থেকে 22 কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিমে এবং দুবরাজপুর থেকে ১২ কিলোমিটার উত্তরে বক্রেশ্বর অবস্থিত। দুই দিক থেকেই এখানে সহজেই আসার যায়। এই এলাকার উত্তর-পূর্ব দিক দিয়ে বয়ে চলেছে বক্রেশ্বর নদী।এই বক্রেশ্বর হলো মহাঋষি অষ্টাবক্রের তপস্যাভূমি। এখানে তিনি সিদ্ধিলাভ করেন। ঋষি-আরাধিত শিব, ঋষির নামানুসারে বক্রেশ্বর নামে অভিহিত হন। মহর্ষি বেদব্যাসের “শ্রীশ্রী বক্রেশ্বর মাহাত্মা” বইয়ে এই স্থানকে ‘গুপ্ত-কাশী নামে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে। বক্রেশ্বরের অন্যতম প্রধান আকর্ষণ এর উষ্ণ প্রস্রবণগুলি। এগুলি হল – পাপহরা গঙ্গা, বৈতরণী গঙ্গা, খরকুণ্ড, ভৈরবকুণ্ড, অগ্নিকুণ্ড, দুধকুণ্ড, সূর্যকুণ্ড, শ্বেতগঙ্গা, ব্রহ্মাকুণ্ড, অমৃতকুণ্ড। খর, ভৈরব ও সূর্যকুণ্ডের জলের তাপমাত্রা যথাক্রমে ৬৬, ৬৫ ও ৬১ ডিগ্রি সেলসিয়াস। অগ্নিকুণ্ডের তাপমাত্রা ৮০ ডিগ্রি সেলসিয়াস। এই কুণ্ডের জলে সোডিয়াম, পটাসিয়াম, ক্যালসিয়াম, সিলিকেট, ক্লোরাইড, বাইকার্বোনেট ও সালফেট পাওয়া যায়, যা ঔষধিগুণসম্পন্ন। ব্রহ্মাণ্ড পুরাণে ঋষি অষ্টাবক্রর একটি কাহিনি বলা আছে। একবার বৈকুন্ঠে লক্ষ্মীদেবীর স্বয়ম্বরের জন্য এক অভিনব স্বয়ম্বর সভার আয়োজন করা হয়। এই সভায় দেবরাজ ইন্দ্র সহ সমাস্ত দেবগণ, কিন্নরগণ, মুণিঋষিগণ আমন্ত্রিত হয়েছিলেন।দেবরাজ ইন্দ্র আমন্ত্রিত ব্যক্তিদের অভ্যর্থনার দায়িত্বে ছিলেন। ঋষি লােমশ এবং ঋষি সুব্রত একসাথে সেই সভায় এসে উপস্থিত হলে দেবরাজ ইন্দ্র দুজনকেই আহ্বান করে প্রথমে লােমশকে পাদ্য অর্ঘ্য দিয়ে পূজা করেন। লােমশ তার আগে পূজিত হচ্চেন দেখে ঋষি সুব্রতর মনে রাগ হয় এবং তিনি রাগবশেই ইন্দ্রকে অভিশাপ দিতে উদ্যত হয়েও সংযত হন। বাইরে তা প্রকাশ করলেন না। ভিতরে জমা সেই ক্রোধ ঋষি সুব্রতর দেহের উপর প্রতিক্রিয়া সৃষ্টি করল। গােটা দেহখানি আটটি অংশে বক্র হয়ে গেল। সকলের সামনে ক্রোধের বশে এরকম শারীরিক পরিবর্তনে। ঋষি সুব্রত অনুতপ্ত ও লজ্জিত হলেন। ওই বক্র শরীর নিয়ে সেই দিনই ঋষি সুব্রত নতুন নাম ধারণ করলেন ঋষি অষ্টাবক্র।অতঃপর ঋষি অষ্টাবক্র সেই স্বয়ম্বর সভা থেকে বেরিয়ে লােককথা অনুসারে নানা তীর্থ, মহাপীঠস্থান ও উপপীঠস্থান ঘুরে অবশেষে ঋষি অষ্টাবক্র ঘুরতে ঘুরতে বক্রেশ্বর ধামে এসে উপস্থিত হলেন। এখানে তপস্যার উপযােগী স্থান পেয়ে এখানেই মহাদেবের তপস্যা আরম্ভ করলেন।।তার তপস্যায় তুষ্ট হয়ে মহাদেব তাঁকে দেখা দিয়ে বললেন, হে অষ্টাবক্র, তােমার তপস্যায় আমি তুষ্ট হয়েছি। আজ থেকে এই স্থানে তােমার পূজার পরে আমার পূজা হবে। লােকসমাজে আমি তােমার নামেই। পরিচিত হব। আজ থেকে এই পীঠ সিদ্ধপীঠ নামে খ্যাত হবে। মহাদেবের বরদানের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে একটি মন্দির নির্মাণ করলেন বিশ্বকর্মা। বক্রেক্ষর সতীপীঠে দেবী এখানে মহিষমর্দিনী নামে পূজিতা হন এখানে দেবীর মন অর্থাৎ ভ্রমধ্য স্থানটি পড়েছিল। কথিত আছে রুদ্র মূর্তি ধারণ করে অশান্ত হৃদয়ে মহাদেব বিশ্ব সংসার ধ্বংস করে এই বক্রেশ্বর মহাপীঠে এসে ভৈরব কুণ্ডের জলে স্নান করে মনের অশান্তি দূর করেন। তাই চৈত্র মাসের শুক্লাষ্টমীতে এই কুণ্ডের জলে স্নান করে মহাদেবের পূজা করলে সবচেয়ে শ্রেষ্ট যজ্ঞ রাজসূয় যজ্ঞের ফললাভ হয়। জনশ্রুতি অন্যান্য কুণ্ডগুলিতে নির্দিষ্ট দিনে ও মাসে স্নান করলে স্বতন্ত্র ফল লাভ করা যায়। শিব চতুর্দশীতে এখানে পুণ্যার্থীদের ভিড় হয় খুব, মেলা বসে।

Mama Bhagne Pahar:-
Mama Bhagne Paharh is a rock formation near Dubrajpur town of district Birbhum in the Indian state of West Bengal.
When Rama decided to attack Ravana, he found it necessary to throw a bridge across the straits for the conveyance of his troops, he drove in his aerial chariot to the Himalayas, picked up what stones he needed and drove back. As he was passing Dubrajpur his horses took fright and tilted up the chariot and so some stones fell out. These are the stones at Mama Bhagne.
There is another legend to the effect that they were collected by Viswakarma, at the command of Shiva, to erect in one night a second Kasi. When he collected the rocks and was about to commence work day dawned and so he left. A temple named Pahareshwar is situated at the bottom of hills
Bakreshwar Temple:-
The Bakreshwar Temple of West Bengal lies on the banks of the Paaphra River in the district of Birbhum, around 24 km from the town of Siuri and 240 km from Kolkata. The temple is renowned for its Oriya-style of architecture. Inside the temple complex are the Mahishmardini and the Vakranath temple. The former has ancient paintings of the goddess, preserved well by the Archaeological Survey of India.
The portion between Devi Sati’s eyebrows- symbolic of her mind – is said to have fallen in this region when Lord Vishnu used his sudarshan chakra on her burnt corpse. A shrine was erected later and was consecrated to the worship of Shaivaite forces.
Said to be one of the most powerful Shakti peethas, Bakreshwar (also called Vakreshwar) , the idol worshipped is Devi Mahishmardini (destroyer of Mahishasur) who is protected by the Bhairav Vakranath. The Phaphra River is said to be the Remover of Sins. This region is known particularly for its scenic beauty. There are seven hot springs surrounding the region- Agni Kund, Brahma Kund, Surya Kund, Saubhagya Kund, Amrita Kund, Kheer Kund, Jibat Kund and Vairav Kund, and each is associated with a ShivLinga. The ShivLingas can be found close to every spring. The Mahamuni Ashtabhakta is said to have found enlightenment here after bathing in the Phaphra.

Bakreshwar is a village in Dubrajpur CD Block in Suri Sadar subdivision of Birbhum district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Bakreshwar Thermal Power Station of West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited and Bakreswar Thermal Power Plant Township are located some distance away from this town. The nearest railway station of Bakreshwar is Siuri.The word Bakreshwar comes from the name of Lord Shiva worshipped in the locality. Bakra (Vakra) means bent or curved. Ishwar means God. Mythologically it is said that in Satya Yuga during the marriage ceremony of Lakshmi and Narayan, Ashtavakra Muni (then known as Subrata Muni) was insulted by Indra. The muni was so enraged that he developed 8 cripples in his body (Ashtavakra Muni means a sage with 8 curved cripples, probably kyphoscoliotic). Ashtavakra Muni was blessed by lord Shiva here after many years of Tapashya (meditation). This place is also famous as one of the 51 Shakti Pithas where there is a temple dedicated to Adi Shakti. This is a major pilgrimage spot for Hindus.

বক্রেশ্বর শব্দটি এসেছে স্থানীয় বক্রেশ্বর শিবের নামানুসারে। বক্র শব্দটির অর্থ বাঁকা; ঈশ্বর অর্থে ভগবান। পৌরাণিক কাহিনি অনুসারে, সত্যযুগে লক্ষ্মী ও নারায়ণের বিবাহ অনুষ্ঠানে সুব্রত মুণি দেবরাজ ইন্দ্র কর্তৃক অপমানিত হন। ক্রুদ্ধ ঋষির দেহ আটটি বাঁকে বেঁকে যায়। তিনি অষ্টবক্র ঋষি নামে পরিচিত হন। পশ্চিমবঙ্গের বক্রেশ্বর শক্তিপীঠ বীরভূম জেলার পাপহরা নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত।এটি সিউড়ি শহর থেকে ২৪ কিমি এবং কলকাতা থেকে ২৪০ কিলোমিটার দূরে । মন্দির স্থাপত্য রেখ-দেউলরীতির। মন্দির কমপ্লেক্সের অভ্যন্তরে মহিশমর্দিনী ও বক্রেশ্বর মন্দির। প্রাক্তন প্রাচীন দেবীর প্রাচীন চিত্রকর্মগুলি ভারতের প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক জরিপ দ্বারা সুরক্ষিত।
