Free admission with your Discovery Vouchers, Animals up-close - Featherdale Wildlife Park - Doonside

This is by far the best Australian Animals and Bird Park we have been to, most animals are viewed close up and some you can even touch, Its like there trained to perform in front of an audience. Every zoo I have been to, you'll find the Koalas wombats and Tasmanian Devil hiding or sleeping, you may as well stick a stuffed Koala in between the branches and no-one would ever know, at Featherdale they were all out and about when we were there, probably about 10am.
We used our last 2 discovery vouchers to get in as they are expiring soon, so just paid for the kids.
When you get there take a photo with a Koala (there are great prices if you order this online with your ticket) and don't forget to buy some Roo food to feed them. There are two car-parks, the main one is small and fills up fast and there is the second one just across the road. There is a cafe inside or you can bring a picnic lunch. BBQ's and picnic tables and chairs are available.
Featherdale are best known for keeping birds, like the name suggests it has probable the largest collection of Australian birds in the world, we love the walk in Lorikeet Aviary most, the sweet song of the Chiming Wedgbill, and the little penguin enclosure allows you to get extremely close to them. Watch your fingers when your looking at the Brolga, they have a habit of biting. All shots were filmed with an iphone and great care is taken not to include the cage front in the shot.
The Marsupials are either not fenced or has low fences so you can pat them, its also fun taking close up shots of them. Didn't take notice of the cage signs so spent a lot of time researching what type of animal I filmed that day, so if I get it wrong or have missed the names of some, just leave a comment down below.
I reduced the Background music so you can hear the beautiful bird calls and songs. We spent over 3 hours there and edited the vlog to 11 minutes so, there are plenty we didn’t show. Enjoy your day.

**This video is not sponsored**

IGA to open SIX Supa Value mega supermarkets across Sydney after Doonside store success. The bulk buy warehouse-style stores will focus on discounted meat and vegetables.
Six new low-cost supermarkets are set to open across Sydney to challenge US retail giant Costco which brought its bulk-buy warehouses to Australia more than a decade ago.
IGA will open its own ‘Supa Value’ stores with a focus on discounted meat and vegetables to entice shoppers through the door.
The specials will last for three months, not weekly, and unlike Costco, no membership or loyalty program is required to save.
“When you first walk in, it makes you feel like you’re in a Costco-type store ... we have the ability to buy up and get the best cost of goods so we can pass it on to our consumers and customers,” IGA owner Joseph Romeo told 7NEWS.
IGA has been quietly testing the market at its Doonside store, in Sydney’s west, to gauge the community response to its warehouse offering.
There are now plans for six new Supa Value stores across Sydney.
“We are looking at more sites in western Sydney, north of Sydney and also down south,” Romeo said.
