The district is located between 32° 17′ to 32° 55′ North Latitude and 75° 70′ to 76° 16′ East longitude. It is bordered by Punjab to the South-East, Himachal Pradesh to the North-East, Doda and Udhampur to the North and North-West, Jammu to the West, and Pakistan to the South-West. The district covers an area of 2502 square kilometers according to the Census of 2011, with a population of 6.16 Lacs. It consists of 5 Assembly Constituencies and 11 Tehsils, namely Kathua, Bani, Basohli, Billawar, Hiranagar, Nagri, Marheen, Dinga Amb, Lohai-Malhar, Mahanpur, and Ramkote.
Furthermore, the district is divided into 19 blocks, including Bani, Basohli, Baggan, Kathua, Billawar, Hiranagar, Nagri, Barnoti, Marheen, Dinga Amb, Duggain, Duggan, Lohai-Malhar Mahanpur, Mandli, Nagrota Gujroo, Bhoond, Dhar Mahanpur, Keerian Kandyal, and encompasses approximately 512 villages.
The traditional language spoken in Kathua is Dogri, while the Pahari languages are commonly used in the mountainous regions to the east. The primary mediums of education in the district are English, Hindi, and Urdu.

Welcome to my YouTube channel Musafir! In today's video, I'll be taking you on a virtual tour of the historical city of Bhuj in the Kutch district. Join me as I explore the top 10 must-visit places in Bhuj in this comprehensive travel guide.
Starting off with the number one spot on our list, we have the Smritivan Arthquake Museum. Located about five kilometers from Bhuj Railway Station, this museum is the largest in India. Situated atop the Bhujia Dungar hill, the museum covers an area of over 470 acres. Divided into seven blocks, the museum is dedicated to the survivors of the devastating earthquake that struck Kutch. With its lush greenery, check dams, sunset point, and even a solar plant, Smritivan is truly a unique and educational experience.
Next up, at number two, we have the Prag Mahal and Aina Mahal. These two palaces are situated in the same compound near Bhuj Railway Station. Prag Mahal, built by Maharaja Rao Pragmalji II in the Italian Gothic style, features the impressive Darbar Hall and Clock Tower. Adjacent to it, the Aina Mahal, constructed in the European style, displays a stunning collection of mirrors and glasswork. Despite the earthquake's impact, some parts of Aina Mahal have been transformed into a museum.
Moving on to number three, we arrive at the Vande Mataram Memorial. Located around 10 kilometers from Bhuj Railway Station in the Bhujodi village, this memorial is dedicated to India's freedom struggle. Its architecture resembles the old Parliament House and showcases significant events leading to India's independence.
At the fourth spot, we visit Ramkund, a historical stepwell located near the Kutch Museum. With its intricate carvings and depictions of Lord Vishnu's avatars, Ramkund is a remarkable architectural marvel.
Number five on our list is the Khari River, also known as Kuvadava River. It is a natural phenomenon and a testament to the marvels of wind and water erosion. The riverbed resembles an umbrella due to centuries of carving by wind and water.
The Kutch Museum takes the sixth position. As the oldest museum in Gujarat, it features an extensive collection of artifacts, coins, paintings, sculptures, and musical instruments, all showcasing the region's rich history.
Seventh on our list is the Swaminarayan Temple, situated by Hamirsar Lake. This temple is a dedication to Lord Nar Narayan and offers a serene atmosphere for visitors to explore.
Number eight brings us to Chattardi, a historical site with umbrella-shaped structures that house the tombs of Kutch's rulers. Its unique architecture and serene surroundings make it a captivating site.
Moving on to number nine, we have the Hamirsar Lake, an artificial lake in the heart of Bhuj. This massive lake was created by Rao Hamir over three centuries ago and is surrounded by beautiful gardens, including Rajendra Park.
Last but not least, at number ten, stands the Adiyogi Statue. Resembling the Adiyogi statue in Coimbatore, this eight-foot-tall statue in Bhuj symbolizes an aspect of Lord Shiva.

Gulmarg has everything going for it: snowdressed mountains, greenery, lakes, pine and fir forests and different types of flowers. It is snug in a valley in the Pir Panjal Range. Its name means, the meadows of flowers, and you will come across a lot of meadows decorated with daisies.
Pahalgam.
Any tourist visiting the top 10 places in Jammu and Kashmir will always visit Pahalgam. Located in the Anantnag district, it is located on the banks of the River Lidder.

Patnitop.
The hill station of Patnitop is included among the popular tourist places in Jammu and Kashmir for its meadows, gorgeous views &a nd lovely views of the Himalayan peaks. If you are looking for winter getaways in Jammu, this is where you should be.
You can enjoy skiing & paragliding at Madhatop, which can be reached by a 5 kilometers from Patnitop. During your stay, don’t forget to taste Patisa, the local delicacy.
Jammu.
Jammu is the southernmost-part of the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir which sits proudly on the magnificent Shivalik mountain ranges. The Winter Capital of Kashmir, Jammu is a holy and peaceful city known for its majestic temples, religious shrines, glittering shikhars, and cultural heritage.
Vaishno Devi Temple.
a major Hindu pilgrimage destination in India. The temple stands on the Trikuta Hills in Jammu. The Mother Goddess, who is the main deity, is believed to fulfil the wishes of her devotees.
To reach the temple, you will have to take a trek of nearly 14 kilometers which starts from the Ban Ganga bridge. Other options are battery operated cars, ponies, palkies and helicopter rides to Mata Vaishno Devi Temple.
amarnath Cave.
Sonmarg is the place of starting point for the trek to Amarnath Cave, a major Hindu pilgrimage destination.
Yusmarg.
It is a hill station in the western part of the valley
of Kashmir. The landscape here is more beautiful than anything you will ever see.
Doda.
It's a district located in the eastern part of Jammu and has plenty of opportunities for sightseeing and adventure. Those who are spiritually inclined should certainly visit Doda, since there are plenty of temples and a splendid mosque too.

Bhaderwah (or Bhadarwah valley) is a town and tehsil in the district Doda of the Indian union territory of Jammu and kashmir.
The word Bhaderwah is derived from the Hindu Goddess BHADRAKALI. Formerly known as Bhaderkashi the name of place got corrupted to Bhadarwah.
In 1841 AD Bhadarwah became part of J&K state. When Maharaja Partap Singh was crowned as king of Jammu and Kashmir, he gifted Bhadarwah to his younger brother Raja Amar Singh as “Jagir”. The Jagir comprised Bhadarwah, Bhallesa and the vast area left of river Chenab from Thathri up to Khellani (Doda).
