This is Marrakech ???? ???????? #morocco #shorts #africa #travel

Where can you find snake charmers, a plate of snails, and a glass of orange juice, all in one go?

Djemma el-Fna square is one of the world’s great spectacles - a bustling market that is chaos to the senses. The sights, sounds, smells are overwhelming, drawing in tourists nightly for centuries for this obscenely rich Moroccan and Berber cultural celebration.

On one end of the market, you’ll find the performers and buskers, peddling every skill from snake charming to belly dancing to showing off their pet chimpanzee. On the other end, rows of dinner tents serve up Moroccan cuisine (and gouge tourists with hidden “fees”, charging for the napkins, salt, pepper, cutlery and plates - no joke). Interspersed between them are row after row of fresh juice stalls, warming ginger tea and gingerbread stalls, and hundreds upon hundreds of local vendors selling their wares in the surrounding souks.

If Morocco is not yet on your bucket list, it definitely should be. It’s safe, welcoming, and apart from the occasional hustler, you won’t encounter any issues travelling here independently.
