Ivory Coast, also known as Côte d'Ivoire, officially the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, is a country on the southern coast of West Africa. Its political capital is Yamoussoukro, in the centre of the country; while its largest city and economic centre is the port city of Abidjan. It borders Guinea to the northwest, Liberia to the west, Mali to the northwest, Burkina Faso to the northeast, Ghana to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea (Atlantic Ocean) to the south. Its official language is French, but local indigenous languages are also widely used, including Bété, Baoulé, Dioula, Dan, Anyin, and Cebaara Senufo. In total, there are around 78 different languages spoken in Ivory Coast. The country has large populations of the adherents of Christianity, Islam and various indigenous religions.
Before its colonization by Europeans, Ivory Coast was home to several states, including Gyaaman, the Kong Empire and Baoulé. The area became a protectorate of France in 1843 and was consolidated as a French colony in 1893 amid the European scramble for Africa. It achieved independence in 1960, led by Félix Houphouët-Boigny, who ruled the country until 1993. Relatively stable by regional standards, Ivory Coast established close political economic ties with its West African neighbours while maintaining close relations with the West, especially France. Its stability was diminished by a coup d'état in 1999, then two civil wars—first between 2002 and 2007 and again during 2010–2011. It adopted a new constitution in 2000.
Ivory Coast is a republic with strong executive power vested in its president. Through the production of coffee and cocoa, it was an economic powerhouse in West Africa during the 1960s and 1970s, then experienced an economic crisis in the 1980s, contributing to a period of political and social turmoil. It was not until around 2014 that its gross domestic product again reached the level of its peak in the 1970s. In 2020, Ivory Coast was the world's largest exporter of cocoa beans and had high levels of income for its region. In the 21st century, the Ivorian economy has been largely market-based; it still relies heavily on agriculture, with smallholder cash-crop production predominating mapa de Costa de Marfil Africa , Cote d Ivorie Ivory Coast is a country of western sub-Saharan Africa. It borders Liberia and Guinea in the west, Mali and Burkina Faso in the north, Ghana in the east, and the Gulf of Guinea (Atlantic Ocean) in the south. The country lies between latitudes 4° and 11°N, and longitudes 2° and 9°W. Around 64.8% of the land is agricultural land; arable land amounted to 9.1%, permanent pasture 41.5%, and permanent crops 14.2%. Water pollution is one of the biggest issues that the country is currently facing.
Administrative divisions

Districts of Ivory Coast
Since 2011, Ivory Coast has been administratively organised into 12 districts plus two district-level autonomous cities. The districts are divided into 31 regions; the regions are divided into 108 departments; and the departments are divided into 510 sub-prefectures. In some instances, multiple villages are organised into communes. The autonomous districts are not divided into regions, but they do contain departments, sub-prefectures, and communes.
Since 2011, governors for the 12 non-autonomous districts have not been appointed. As a result, these districts have not yet begun to function as governmental entities.

Les cascades naturelles de Zadepleu dans la région de Man a l'ouest de la Cote d'Ivoire

Le 7 aout 1960, le président de la république de côte d’ivoire, son excellence Felix Houphouët Boigny à l’occasion des célébrations tournantes de la fête de l’indépendance de côte d’ivoire visite pour la première fois les cascades naturelles de Zadepleu. Ce majestueux jet d’eau le laisse sans voix, surtout qu’il découvre en ce même lieu le symbole de l’ingéniosité architecturale traditionnelle et du savoir-faire du peuple DAN : le pont des lianes d’une longueur de 75 mètres.
Notons qu’initialement les ponts de lianes sont localisés dans le département de Danané et les cascades dans le département de Man. A l’occasion de cette visite présidentielle (07 aout 1969), les experts traditionnels au nombre de 10 en provenance de Gotonguiné 1&2 (Sangouiné) ont été sollicités pour construire ce pont de lianes, qui a été réalisé en une nuit. Emerveillé par la beauté et la magie du site, le Président Felix Houphouët Boigny décide de faire de la région de Tonkpi, la première destination touristique de la cote d’ivoire vu qu’elle regorge d’énormes potentialités. Ainsi les travaux d’aménagement et de la valorisation de sites sont engagés.
Rappelons qu’à l’origine les cascades de Zadepleu sont des lieux sacrés dédié à des rites de bénédictions et d’adoration de culte animiste. Les autels sacrés sont toujours sur le site des cascades, mais tenus à l’abri des visiteurs et les sacrifices se font toujours.
Aujourd’hui suite aux travaux d’aménagement réalisés, les cascades naturelles de Zadepleu on fière allure, et offrent aux visiteurs des moments unique de bonheur en pleine nature. Les plateformes aménagées permettent d’observer une forêt luxuriante et vierge, de contempler des jets d’eaux impérieux à la clarté aurifère lorsque les rayons solaires s’y perdent. On y est aussi envahi par une fraicheur tropicale, qui rompt avec l’humidité de l’extérieur. La piscine naturelle de la cascade nous invite à la baignade. Aidés par les guides l’on peut montrer sur le pont des lianes et admirer les lieux. Le site offre d’autres services tels le parking sécurisé, la buvette et le restaurant.

On the last weekend of my scouting trip to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, I had the opportunity to attend the annual ADICOMDAYS @adicomdaystv5658, the 1st community of digital creativity for #Africa. Of course, I did a lot of last-minute shopping in Trechville (mostly clothing for the kids but also some food like attieke, mangos, and spices). I was really excited to meet up with a few friends from college I hadn't seen in over 10 years.

I know, Man isn't really a stupid name for a city when you consider that it's not an English word but a Yakuba word, but still. the puns are just too easy. Regardless of how stupid the name may be, Man, Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) is one of the most beautifully set cities in West Africa. It is settled among rolling mountains, and lush landscapes. On my first day in town I basically just recover from a tough day travel yesterday.

Bingerville est une des 13 communes de l'agglomération d'Abidjan. C'est une ville située au bord de la lagune Ébrié et a été la deuxième capitale de la colonie française de Côte d'Ivoire entre 1900 et 1934, avant de laisser la place à Abidjan. Elle doit son nom au gouverneur français Louis-Gustave Binger.
elle abrite un immense jardin botanique, ainsi que de nombreuses écoles dont l'EMPT, les lycées (des Jeunes filles Mamie Houphouët Faitai, classique des Garçons, modernes), le Centre des métiers de l'électricité qui est une école interafricaine.
Administrativement, c'est une sous-préfecture incluse depuis 2001 dans le département d'Abidjan. Depuis 2020, elle présente un nouveau visage avec l'élargissement de sa voirie principale qui était dans un passé récent de 2 x 1 voie et maintenant de 2 x 2 voies. C'est cette commune totalement métamorphosée que je vous amène dans ce voyage. J'espère qu'elle vous plaira. Bingerville is one of the 13 municipalities of the agglomeration of Abidjan. Administratively, it is a sub-prefecture included since 2001 in the department of Abidjan. Since 2020, it presents a new face with the widening of its main road which was in the recent past 2 x 1 lane and now 2 x 2 lanes. La vidéo que je présente ce jour est le compil de mes voyages professionnels que j'ai eu à réaliser au Bénin. C'est en effet les paysages beaux, les peuples extraordinaires et les différents événements que j'ai observé durant la traversée de ces différents pays qui m'ont inspirés à réaliser ce Vlog qui constituent le résumé de plus de 24 heures de route de Cotonou (République du Bénin) à Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire) en passant par les Républiques du Togo et du Ghana.
J'espère que vous l'adopterai et que cela vous aidera à sauter le pas en effectuant ce genre de voyages dans la sous-région, je vous assure que cela vous marquera positivement comme cela a été le cas pour moi je vous l'avoue. The video that I present today is the compilation of my professional trips that I had to make on the way back from Benin to Côte d'Ivoire. It is indeed the beautiful landscapes, the extraordinary people and the different events that I observed during the crossing of these different countries that inspired me to make this Vlog which constitutes the summary of more than 24 hours of road from Cotonou (Republic of Benin) to Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire) via the Republics of Togo and Ghana.
I hope you will adopt it and that it will help you to take the plunge by making this kind of trip in the sub-region, I assure you that it will mark you positively as it was the case for me I admit it to you . Pour ma première vidéo de cette année, j'ai décidé de vous amener dans la commune d'Abobo précisément à Biabou 2 aussi connu sous le nom de DJIBI Village sur la route d'Alépé, qui est aussi un passage pour ceux qui souhaite se rendre à Aboisso, à Noé donc à la frontière Côte d'Ivoire-Ghana.
Notre parcours débute à la nouvelle gare d'Adjamé Bracodi, en passant l'autoroute Abobo-Adjamé, puis Abobo Samaké, Abobo-Baoulé et Biabou 2.

A LA DECOUVERTE D'ABIDJAN -- 6ème EPISODE: D'ADJAME (INDENIE) A MARCORY (ABIA KOUMASSI)
Bonjour à vous tous qui comme moi, êtes passionnés par la ville d'Abidjan. Dans cette vidéo, contrairement au début de cette série, j'ai décidé de filmer de face afin d'offrir une grande perspective de vue de la Perle des Lagunes. Notre balade de ce jour nous mènera d'Adjamé à Marcory. Durant ce voyage nous roulerons principalement sur les boulevards Lagunaire et Valérie Giscard d'Estaing et traverserons respectivement les communes du Plateau, Treichville et Marcory. Pour ceux qui se poserait la question pourquoi je ne cite pas Koumassi, c'est tout simplement parce que quand on roule à droite sur le boulevard VGE (sens Treichville - Port Bouet), nous sommes à Marcory; Tandis quand nous sur le sens opposé (Port Bouet vers Treichville), nous sommes à Koumassi. Hi everyone who like me, are love the city of Abidjan. In this video, unlike my habit, in previous videos, I decided to shoot from the front in order to offer a great perspective of the Pearl of the Lagunes. Our walk today will take us from Adjamé to Marcory. During this trip we will drive mainly on the Lagunaire and Valérie Giscard d'Estaing boulevards and will cross the municipalities of Plateau, Treichville and Marcory respectively. For those who would ask the question why I do not quote Koumassi, it is quite simply because when you drive on the right on the boulevard VGE (from Treichville to Port Bouet), we are in Marcory; While when we go in the opposite direction (Port Bouet to Treichville), we are in Koumassi.
