There is some extremely unique Filipino street food to be had in Iloilo City Philippines, and today we went on a huge Filipino food tour of the city. We started our day in the area of Molo, tasting the popular Filipino food, pancit molo. This is one of the foods to eat in Iloilo, especially in the Molo neighbourhood. We continued our Filipino food tour to Ramboy’s for their mega crispy liempo pork belly.
This mega crispy liempo pork belly was out of this world! The crispy pork belly was roasted over coals and cooked to crispy pork perfection. This mega crispy liempo pork belly is a must try Filipino food in Iloilo.
We continued our Filipino food tour, arriving in buko heaven. From coconut juice to coconut soup, to coconut batchoy! This was truly a buko coconut filled day, our favourite. Nothing beats buko heaven. Before we finished our Filipino food tour we tasted the local talaba, oysters. These oysters were super tasty and flavourful, a popular Iloilo meal that you must eat when in the city.

Foreigner meets friendly Filipinas in Molo, Iloilo City, the City of Love, Philippines
What attracts foreigners/expats to live in Iloilo? Iloilo feels like a young city, with many Universities in the city, there’s plenty of younger people walking around. Young Filipinos are not averse to saying Hello especially when waving a camera around. I visited Jaro and Mandurriao Plaza, then took a trike to Molo where there's a lovely Church and Mansion, and met three friendly filipinas relaxing on their day off and sat chatting with them. This wouldn't happen to an old guy in the west who'd probably receive a curt clear of Grandad, rather than a warm welcome.
I was staying in City Proper near Robinson’s Mall which has a Food Court. Food Court’s at Malls in the Philippines bear no comparison with the food courts at the Malls in Thailand. Not far away from Robinson’s is an SM Store, but it’s mainly just a Supermarket, there’s the bigger SM City, north of the River, near Megaworld.
Everything you need you can find around the vibrant streets of City Proper. The Riverside Walk was close by and easy to walk to. But apart from the area around City proper, the lovely Riverside Walk, Megaworld district, the cycle lanes - this is beginning to sound like a Monty Python sketch, and Molo, what has Iloilo got to offer this expats who choose to live here?The Riverside Walk stretches for 1km on both sides of the Iloilo River in Iloilo City. There are many eateries, cafes, restaurants, a skateboard park, Go-Kart track. Over a couple of days I walked along the wonderful Riverside Walk in Iloilo City. Quiet during the day when the sun is shining, but with plenty of walkers and joggers in the early evening enjoying the riverside ambience.
Since opening on August 18, 2012, the esplanade has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iloilo attracting millions of visitors each year from all over the country and the world. In 2018, the linear park was cited as a Haligi ng Dangal awardee for the Landscape Architecture category by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) through the National Committee on Architecture and the Allied Arts.
loilo Business Park is Megaworld’s award-winning 72-hectare township hosting Iloilo’s newest and most modern central business district. Built on the site of the former Iloilo Airport, which Property developer Megaworld acquired from the National Government in 2007 for P1.2 billion in cash, Megaworld started construction in 2011, earmarking an initial P2.5 billion over the first couple of years to develop the road network within the IT park and for the construction of Richmonde Hotel Iloilo and Richmonde Tower plus two more BPO office towers within that period.
The first retail component of the project, Festive Walk Mall, was initially set to open in late 2012, but didn’t actually open until June 2018. At the 2018 Asia Property Awards, Iloilo Business Park was hailed by PropertyGuru as the ‘Best Township Development in Asia’ and the most successful township outside Metro Manila.

Caving and Nature Trip at Bulabog Puti-an National Park
Bulabog Putian is located in the northern Iloilo municipalities of Dingle and San Enrique, some 43 kilometres (27 mi) from Iloilo City. It spans the Dingle barangays of Moroboro, Lincud, Camambugan, Caguyuman, and Tulatulaan, and the San Enrique barangays of Rumagayray, Campo, Palje, and Lip-ac.[2] The park's central feature is the Bulabog Putian mountains, which contain the 1,056-foot (322 m) Putian Peak, the highest in Central Iloilo dominating the surrounding plains.[3] The mountain was named for its most distinguishing feature, a white stone wall on the north side that is visible from as far away as Passi.[3]
The park also contains 13 caves, the most prominent of which are the Maestranza Cave, Guiso Cave, and Lapuz Lapuz Cave.[4] The Maestranza Cave is a habitat of an estimated 20,000 fruit bats while the Guiso Cave is home to 18 different species of bats.[2] It also has several springs including the Moroboro Spring. On the park's eastern side lies Lake Bito. A dam of the Jalaur River can also be found in the park. ( from wikipedia)
