Amarkantak ...... Narmada River is a famous religious tourist destination full of natural beauty as well as the origin of the Son River and Johila River. Amarkantak, situated in the Maikal hills, is a popular Hindu pilgrimage center in Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh. At this place 1065 meters above sea level, only the Vindhya and Satpura hills of central India merge. The Narmada River flows westwards and the Son River in the east direction. The beautiful waterfalls, sacred ponds, high hills and serene environment mesmerize the tourists. Nature lovers and religious people love this place. Amarkantak has been glorified in many mythologies, traditions and legends. It is said that Narmada, the daughter of Lord Shiva, flows from here in the form of Jeevandayini river. There are many temples dedicated to Goddess Narmada, which are considered as the idol of Durga. Amarkantak is also famous for many Ayurvedic plants.
Airways- The nearest airport to Amarkantak is at Jabalpur, which is at a distance of about 245 kilometers.
Rail route - Pendra Road is the nearest railway station to Amarkantak which is about 35 kilometers away. In terms of convenience, Anuppur railway station is much better, which is 72 km from Amarkantak.
By Road: Amarkantak is connected by road to Madhya Pradesh and nearby cities. Regular buses are available from Pendra Road, Bilaspur and Shahdol.

1. Fossil Park, Dindori District
It has fossils which are over 65 million years old. It fossils of plants, trees, fruits, and seeds was founded in 1983.
2. National Chambal Sanctuary, Dholpur
Located in Dhaulpur district, here you can take Chambal River Safari. You can see Gharials quite easily, Marsh Crocodiles, a tortoise, Egyptian Vulture, Osprey, Pied Kingfisher, Indian Spotted Owl and several other species like duck, plover, tern, heron and waders.

Ghughwa/Ghughua fossil national park is located in dindori district of Madhya Pradesh india .The priceless treasure of plants fossils witch have been date 65 million years old . This fossil park is manage by forest department of m.p. The fossils was discovered in 1970 by Dr. Dharmendra Prasad and Ghughwa fossil National park was declared in 1983. There is 31 genera belonging to 18 families have been identified. Here well preserved fossils of plants, fruits ,seeds and Dinosaur Egg fossil are showcased in muscium. Dicotyledons and palm fossils wood are numerous .

डिंडोरी जिला मख्यालय से लगभग 7 किलोमीटर दूरी पर माँ नर्मदा के तट पर रामघाट लक्ष्मणमडवा नामक सुन्दर स्थान है यहाँ माँ नर्मदा के पवित्र जल से कई छोटे-बड़े झरने बनते हैं | यह स्थान देखने में जबलपुर के भेडाघाट के समान दिखलाई देता है इसीलिए इस स्थान को डिंडोरी जिले का मिनी भेडाघाट भी कहा जाता है| ऐसा माना जाता है कि इस स्थान पर भगवान राम ,माता सीता और लक्ष्मण जी के सांथ वनवास के समय रुके थे और लक्ष्मण जी ने मण्डप बना का पहरा दिया था इसीलिए इस स्थान को रामघाट अथवा लक्ष्मण मडवा भी कहा जाता है |

लक्ष्मण मडवा डिंडोरी-अमरकंटक मार्ग के नजदीक डिंडोरी से 7 किलोमीटर दूर स्थित बहुत ही सुन्दर स्थान है | यह स्थान ग्राम कोहका के समीप माँ नर्मदा के तट पर स्थित है |कहा जाता है कि भगवान राम ने 14 वर्ष के वनवास के दौरान माता सीता और लक्ष्मण जी के कुछ समय इस स्थान पर रहे थे | मन जाता है कि यहाँ लक्ष्मण जी ने मण्डप बना कर पहरा दिया थ इसिलए इस स्थान को लक्ष्मण मडवा और लक्ष्मण मण्डप कहा जाता है |माँ नर्मदा की जल धारा में कुछ छोटे-छोटे झरने हैं जो बहुत सुन्दर दिखलाई देते हैं दिखलाई देते हैं |
