DHEMAJI to DIBRUGARH by TRAIN through BOGIBEEL BRIDGE | Onboard Naharlagun - Tinsukia Intercity

FULL COVERAGE of the railway route from Dhemaji to Dibrugarh, onboard the newly introduced 15908 Naharlagun - Dibrugarh Intercity Express (LHB). The most important part of the journey is that, the train crosses River Brahmaputra through the India's longest rail-cum-road BOGIBEEL BRIDGE.

Earlier, there was no rail or road bridge over River Brahmaputra between Dhemaji and Dibrugarh, so people had to rely on the river transport which was limited and very time consuming.
After the construction of this bridge, the distance is now only 60 km, the train takes less than 1.5 hr, which may get reduced to even less in the due course of time.
The bridge and the train were inaugurated on 25th December, 2018. The regular service of the train was started w.e.f. 26th December, 2018. Here is the video captured at DHEMAJI on its first regular run:
This video is taken with the help of an action camera fitted with wide angle lens. Almost 99% of the route is recorded from the window of the train. Suitable description is provided wherever necessary.
The only train running in the section is the NAHARLAGUN - TINSUKIA INTERCITY EXPRESS (LHB). This train runs 6 days a week, however every Thursday, the timing and the train number is different which I shall explain below.
1. On every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; it runs as 15908 Naharlagun - Tinsukia Intercity Express, leaving Naharlagun at 5:30 am in the morning to arrive Tinsukia at 11:00 am.
2. In return direction, on every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; it runs as 15907 Tinsukia - Naharlagun Intercity Express, leaving Tinsukia at 4:00 pm in the evening to arrive Naharlagun at 9:15 pm at night.
3. On every THURSDAY; it runs as 15912 Naharlagun - Tinsukia Intercity Express, leaving Naharlagun at 5:30 am in the morning to arrive Tinsukia at 11:00 am.
4. In return direction, on every THURSDAY; it runs as 15911 Tinsukia - Naharlagun Intercity Express, leaving Tinsukia at 6:45 pm in the evening to arrive Naharlagun at 12:10 am at mid-night.
Remember, there is no service from Naharlagun to Tinsukia on SUNDAY and there is no service from Tinsukia to Naharlagun on SATURDAY.
The train stops at Harmuti Jn, North Lakhimpur, Gogamukh, Dhemaji, Dhamalgaon, Dibrugarh and New Tinsukia in both the direction of run. The train consists of 1 AC Chair Car and 9 Non AC Chair Car.

Local fishing scenes - Dhemaji - Part 3
This was a part of my Assam cycling tour. We had gone fishing to some nearby village near Dhemaji town. And it was fun to say the least, seeing the local fishermen work on catching fish. The passion of the fishermen was second to none when it came to catching those fishes.
