In this video we are going to see best places to visit in Mandu and explore historic city of Mandu also known as Mandavgarh in Madhya Pradesh. Jahaz mahal and rani roopmati mahal are the places of most attraction here. Mandu is located at approx 100 km from Indore city and is known for eternal love of Baj Bahadur and Roopmati. Mandu Maheshwar Tour | Full History & Tourist Guide in Hindi | मांडू और महेश्वर का इतिहास
Today we going to visit Maheshwar & Mandu, after clicking some photos at the Dam site in Omkareshwar we started our journey at around 10:30am.
Maheshwar is about 66km. from here which will take around 1.40 mins to reach, we set our location on Google maps and we reached the backside of Maheshwar Fort, you can get a nice parking space here.
We entered through Kamani Gate, you can also enter by Ahilya Gate which is the main entry point of this Fort. after covering a small distance we saw a small temple complex of King Sahastrarjuna, the mighty king who held Ravana as a prisoner for many months here. Apart from this, there is one more temple of Shiva, the unique aspect of this Shiva temple is the 11 lamps that are supposed been burning since pre-historic times.
After taking blessings from here we left for the main Maheshwar Fort, which is just a few steps ahead. The Main Attractions of this fort are Ahileshwar Mahadev, Tukoji's Chatri, Main Narmada Ghat, and Rajwada & Maheshwari silk factory outlet.
We quickly visited all these places as we wanted to reach Mandu before the evening. after finishing our lunch in Maheshwar, we left for Mandu aka Mandavgad, which is about 40km. away from Maheshwar and it will take around 1.40 mins to reach, as there is a small Ghat section in this route.
We reached Mandu by around 6.00pm. We stayed at the Hotel Royal Palace (opp. Jain Temple, Mandu) our rooms were ok, we paid Rs.1200 for a night, there is a small restaurant in this hotel so we finished our dinner there only.
Next-Day we had a plan to explore Mandu, so we went to the main market to have some Breakfast, we saw one monument in front of us which is known as Jami Masjid. While having breakfast we had a small conversation with the hotel owner about sightseeing, he suggested we should hire a guide if we really want to know the real history of Mandu, so we started thinking about it.
When we came to Jami Masjid again we saw a signboard of Shree Ram Mandir, so we decided to start our journey by visiting Chaturbhuj Ram Mandir first. When we visited this temple we came to know that this is the one and only Ram Mandir in the world which is having a Ram Idol with four arms.
As we reached Jami Masjid, there were many people who approached us to hire them as a guide, we ask them about their charges, some said around Rs.1000, some said Rs.1200, and after a short bargain we hired one in Rs.700.
With him, we visited many places like- Ashrafi Mahal, Jami Masjid, Hoshangshah Tomb, Dai Ka Mahal or Eco Point, Roopmati Pavilion, Baz Bahadurs Palace, Jahaz Mahal, Hindola Mahal, Champa Bavli, Queen's Residence Complex, Hamam, Kapoor Talab & Taweli Mahal, etc.
Our guide has given us brief information about all these places, but we also missed many places due to lack of time, if you are planning to visit Mandu at least spare 2-3 days here.
We concluded our sightseeing by 3.30 pm and started our onward journey to our home with lots of sweet memories.

Mandu which was known as Mandav Garh is ancient time is located in Dhar District Of Madhya Pradesh , Mandu is located inMalwa Region of Madhya Pradesh , nearest Airport is Indore which is 100 Kms , travel time 2 Hours, Nearest railway station is Indore & Ratlam (131 Kms/ 2.5 hrs ) , Mandu is known for historical buildings and architecture. 10th & 11th century Parmar dynasty Kings Jaya Varman 2 Or Jaituji who was ruling here shifted their capital to Mandu as Mandu is located at elevation of 2070 Feet ASL and secondly at One side Narmada river valley and one side Platue of Malwa , it was safe capital then dhar , which was located in plains , In year 1305 Allauddin Khlzi Captured Malwa and he appointed Multani as governer of Malwa , with the help of a spy his forces found a way to enter in fort , King Mahalakadeva was killed.Later in year 1401 Afgan Dilwar Khan who was governner of Malwa , stablshied his small ghuri dynasty , his some Hoshangsha shifted capital again to Mandu., His son who was last and third ruler of ghury dysnaty was poisioned by Mohammad Khalji., It came under Humaun rule for some time , later Humayun Lost Mandu to Mallu Khan of Khalji Dynasty, later Baz bahadur became king here , In Year 1561 Adam Khan Sipahsalar of Akbar defeated Baj Bahadur , Baz Bahadur Fled to Khandesh , Adam Khand was wanted to capture Rani Roop Mati but she did sucide after eating posion under her diamod ring, , Akbar , recalled Adam Khan and given command to Pir Mohammad, Pir Moahammad khan tried to attack Burhanpur but was defeated by miran Mubarak Shah, Tufal Khan & Baj Bahadur, , Baz Bahadur regained Malwa in year 1562 for short period, Akabar again sent army led by Abdullah Khan, Baz Bahadur was defeated again , He fled to Chuttor, , till 1570 Baz Bahadur was fugitive in different coutys later he surrendered to Akabar at Nagour and joined Akbar’s Services.

The Town lies on the north bank of the Narmada River. It was the kingdom of Chaktavartin Samrat Sahastraarjun, Kartavirya Arjuna a Heheya king. 7 Wonders of India: Mandu
Located 40 km from Dhar and 98 km from Indore, Mandu is situated at an altitude of 634 m. It extends for 13 km (8 miles) along the crest of the Vindhya Range. Mandu gained eminence only near the end of the 10th century when the Paramaras formed an independent kingdom here. Mandu is also famous for its special kind of tamarind known as Mandu ki Imli. The fruit looks like a papaya; it is a fruit of boabab tree.
Mandu is the city of love and delight. After all, one of its most famous legends is the love story of Baz Bahadur and Rani Roopmati. It was built by Afghans.

Kakda Kho Water Fall | kakra kho mandav | काकड़ा खो माण्डू झरना | काकड़ा खो माण्डव | mandu waterfall
माण्डू या माण्डवगढ़, धार जिले में स्थित एक प्राचीन शहर है। यह भारत के पश्चिमी मध्य प्रदेश के मालवा क्षेत्र में स्थित है। यह धार शहर से 35 किमी दूर और इंदौर से 98 किमी दूर स्थित है। धार से 5-6 किलोमीटर आगे माण्डव मार्ग पर राइट हैण्ड साइड पर एक काकड़ा खो व्यू स्पॉट है जहां से नीचे विहंगम दृश्य नज़र आता है. यहां नीचे एक झरना बहता है. बारिश में इसे देखा जा सकता है. इसके बारे में कहा जाता है कि यहां एक स्थान से एक राजा ने अपने घोड़े सहित छलांग लगा दी थी और उस पार चला गया था. यहां उस घोड़े की टॉप के निशान भी है.

.....If you are coming from Dhar towards Mandu, Kakra kho comes 5- 6 km before Mandu. There is a huge MP tourism signboard above the road as well on the left side of the road indicating this place and it is hard to miss. There is place available for parking here ( Rs 10). There are two attractions here side by side- one is Kakra Kho and the other is the Ashmadha Fossil Park which is right next to it. Kakra Kho is mainly a viewing place of a waterfall from above facing a deep gorge. The waterfall height is about 250- 300 ft with no possibility of trekking or climbing down to the base. However the views of the gorge are pretty. A shade area has also been put up for visitors to sit and enjoy the view. There are several vendors here selling lemonade and corn on cob ( bhutta). The place gets mildly crowded on weekends esp evening. Worth stopping here for some time to capture beautiful views.some local and seasonal food available in this place to eat, overall nice place. Pertaining to the monsoons the volume of water in the waterfall was at its maximum. And the surrounding hills were very green. The meadows were looking mesmerizing and the cattle grazing there presented a beautiful view. A very nice pit stop I would say if you are visiting in or around the months of monsoon. While on our way to Mandu, this was the first scenic spot which we found as almost all the tourists will stop here to see the Kakra Khoh valley which is really beautiful and picture perfect location. Lot of local delicacies available from the nearby villagers especially sweet corns, guavas and berries. Many lemon soda shops serve tasty lemon drinks. Can give them a try also. Camel rides are also available here. A must stop place on way to Mandu.

Kashi Vishwanath Temple, built by Ahilyabai, is also an amazing specimen of unmatched architecture. An exceptionally old temple based on an island between the quick stream of Narmada is a Baneshwar Mahadev Temple. This temple is a fine example of an ancient architect technique.
