10 Best place to visit in Deniliquin Australia

x

Dubbo, Parkes, Forbes, Deniliquin (NSW country towns)

Our original plans were to visit some of the towns down the middle of New South Wales and see what we find. Nature defied us and sent one of the worst rain systems in 100 years so we were limited on where we could go and how far we could venture off the main roads, you will see that we had to turn back a couple of times.

We had wonderful stays in the bigger country towns along the Newell Highway right down the middle of NSW. Checked out the plane museums, car museums and Elvis museum.

Hope you like it as much as we did.

DENILIQUIN / DENI UTE MUSTER / THE DEPOT DENILIQUIN / DENILIQUIN RIVERSIDE CARAVAN PARK / VAN LIFE

In this episode, we travel in our converted Ford transit campervan, with our dog, Twyla, and our friend Monica to Deniliquin, NSW.

In this episode we check out:
•Deniliquin Riverside Caravan Park
•Waring Gardens
•Ute on a Pole
•Deniliquin Muster
•The Depot
•Cruizin
•Water tower mural, Deniliquin
•Lagoon to Riverwalk
•Exchange Hotel Deniliquin
•Willoughby’s Beach, free camping

Deniliquin Riverside Caravan Park is a family-owned and operated park. Nestled within a river redgum forest on the banks of the Edward River, Deniliquin Riverside Caravan Park has all the peace of a countryside caravan park, within walking distance of the Deniliquin CBD.
You can cast a line from their one of the riverfront ensuite sites, launch your boat onto the Edward River for an adventure through the Murray-Darling basin, or just wander into town for a good meal and great wine.

Deniliquin is regarded as the ‘Ute Capital of the World’ and, in 1999, it entered the history books, claiming the Guinness Book of Records title for the largest parade of Utes in the world, with 2,839 drivers taking part. In recognition of the achievement, Deniliquin Council erected a WB V8 Holden Ute, mounted on a six-meter pole in 2000.

The Deni Ute Muster is an iconic event played out on some of the largest, flattest plains on earth. It is recognised as one of Australia's premier rural events encapsulating Australia's diversity, tradition, and vibrancy. At the core of the festival is the Guinness World Record-breaking Ute muster and Blue Singlet Count, which see thousands of people from every capital city, town and corner of the land converge to be a part of this unique event.
The two-day festival has two huge evening concerts which have featured national and international artists. The festival is about a lot more than music though - it is the only event in the country that celebrates everything Australian from the NSW Whipcracking Championships, Australian National Circle Work Championships, a Rodeo, and the iconic Ute Show N Shine.
There are over 90 trade and catering sites to suit everyone's needs and activities for all age groups.

The Depot brings history to life in Deniliquin. There, you can immerse yourself in the past amongst the family-friendly interactive displays and activities. With touches of Hollywood, trucking and transport, Australian motoring, rescue vehicles and cars from all around the world, The Depot is full of nostalgia and discovery.

Willoughbys Beach is in the Deniliquin precinct of Murray Valley National Park. It’s recommended you check the weather before you set out as the road to Willoughbys Beach campground can become boggy when it rains.

The widely acclaimed Waring Gardens, a feature of the CBD, are named after the town's first Town Clerk, John Waring. Established in 1888 the area was set up largely as a Botanic Garden testing a number of trees and shrubs for their suitability for Deniliquin climate and soil type. A band rotunda and a fountain within a creeper-covered rotunda were erected in 1891. The lagoon system running throughout the town center is a feature of the gardens. The park showcases the marble sculptures known as the Three Muses, representing Art, Science and Literature.

We hope you enjoy our channel. We often get asked, ‘what is vanlife?’ Van life is a lifestyle of living in a vehicle full or part-time. The names are compound words that derive from the fact that it is typically done in a van that has been modified with basic amenities, such as house batteries, solar panels, a bed platform, some form of the toilet, sink, and storage space. Some van-dwellers live this lifestyle by choice while seeking freedom, self-sufficiency, and mobility without paying for conventional stationary housing, while for others it may be one step from living on the street or in a shelter. Although the term van-dwelling implies living in a van, many types of vehicles may be used for permanent, mobile living arrangements, including former public buses or school buses, campervans, recreational vehicles (RVs), travel trailers, mobile homes, sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and cars.

It’s great to see Australian tourism picking up with many people traveling around Australia in caravans, campervans, RVs, and camping in tents. We enjoy part-time van life, creating weekly episodes that are live at 5pm (AEST) Sundays, and sharing our experiences on our travels with our cavoodle, Twyla. In our episodes we stay at free and paid campsites, showing our tips and tricks on how to make life on the road easier and fun. Come join us on our adventures! Deniliquin NSW Australia is situated 80kms north of the Victorian border and approximately 750kms south west of Sydney. It sits on the banks of the beautiful Edward River with it's high banks and sheltered water, making it ideal for water skiing and houseboats.

The town has a long history and serves as a rural centre for the farmers in the region. The climate is generally hot and dry with some extreme heat in summer and very cold sub zero nights in winter.

The tourist is well catered for in Deni. Plenty of good accommodation is available in the form of motels, hotels and caravan parks. Camping has always been popular at parks along the river. Christmas and Easter see large numbers of visitors mainly from Victoria come to enjoy the weather, the water skiing and the town's hospitality.

If you like a cold beer you'll have no worries in Deniliquin. The RSL Club is very popular and there are nine pubs to help quench your thirst. As the town is very compact and well laid out you can walk from where ever you stay to a pub or the RSL Club.

Right in the middle of town are the Waring Gardens. A beautiful park with a lagoon flowing through the centre. It's ideal for a picnic or just taking a break to eat your lunch bought at one of the cafes across the road.

I've travelled to Deniliquin many times by bus and once, many years ago by train. The passenger train no longer runs on that line so it's either drive or take a coach these days. I always stay at the Sportsman's Arms Hotel Motel 338 Victoria St Deniliquin 2710. Their rooms are clean and comfortable and don't break the budget. I've set up a web site with more info on this little town, you can take a look at
I hope you get to visit Deni one day soon.
