Kosovo is a tremendous destination for adventurous visitors, it's one of the least visited countries in Europe, truly an INSIDER’S TIP. In our travel documentary we bring you closer to this lesser known part of the world by taking you to must-see places like Prizren, Peja, Rugova Canyon and many more.

We show you everything Kosovo has to offer: From wild nature (e.g. White Drin Canyon), spectacular mountains (Albanian Alps), amazing cultural heritage (e.g. Prizren, Visoki Dečani Monastery) to fabulous food, fashion and extraordinary people. See Kosovo from a perspective you've never seen before in our travel vlog.

For those of you with questions in your head like: What's Kosovo like? Is it pleasant? Is it safe? How are the people? Where to go in Kosovo? – These questions will be answered for sure!

PEJA KOSOVO to KFOR protected Visoki Dečani Monastery ???????? Driving off the beaten path travel

This summer drive with original sound presents a relaxing drive through Kosovo, specifically from the western Kosovo town of Peja to the Visoki Dečani Monastery, a medieval Serbian Orthodox Christian monastery located near Deçan, Kosovo. It was founded in the first half of the 14th century by Stefan Dečanski, King of Serbia. The Visoki Dečani monastery is located by the Deçan's Lumbardh river gorge at the foot of the Accursed Mountains, in the region of Metohija. It is located about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from the town of Deçan. The monastery is managed by the Serbian Orthodox Eparchy of Raška and Prizren. The monastery has been under the legal protection of Serbia since 1947 with a designation of Cultural Monument of Exceptional Importance. The monastery is part of the World Heritage site named Medieval Monuments in Kosovo. Prizren, an emblem of cultural fusion, showcases the intricate interplay between Ottoman opulence and Byzantine grace. Delve into the city's architectural heritage, from the Sinan Pasha Mosque's elegant minaret to the captivating frescoes of the Church of Our Lady of Ljeviš. Wander through Shadervan Square, where echoes of the historic Prizren League still linger, and ascend to the commanding Prizren Fortress for a panorama that paints the city's red-tiled roofs against the backdrop of the Shar Mountains.

Kosovo ???????? National Park Bjeshkët e Nemuna

Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park is a national park in the districts of Gjakovë and Pejë in western Kosovo. It encompasses 63,028 hectares of mountainous terrain, with numerous lakes, dense deciduous and coniferous forests and alpine landscapes.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has listed the park as Category II. Notably, the park has been recognised as an important bird area of international importance by designation under the BirdLife International Convention. It borders the Valbonë Valley National Park in Albania to the south.

The Accursed mountains are the southernmost geological continuation of the Dinaric Alps. The portion within the country's territory extends approximately 26 km (16 mi) from east to west, and 50 km (31 mi) from north to south.[3] Rising to an elevation of 2,656 m (1.650 mi), the Gjeravica mountain peak is the second highest natural point of the mountain range, as well as in the country.

The wide range of elevations and rugged topography of the mountains has created favorable conditions for a diverse vegetation and biodiversity. Large mammals such as wildcats, chamoises, roe deers, grey wolves, as well as rare or endangered species like lynxes and brown bears can be found within the forests of the park.[5] A high number of species of birds, more than a dozen fish species, and a few reptile and amphibian species have been reported. Almost 37 species of mammals, 148 species of birds, 10 species of reptiles, 13 species of amphibia and 129 species of butterflies have been documented within the boundaries of the park. In terms of phytogeography, the park falls within the Balkan mixed forests terrestrial ecoregion of the Palearctic temperate broadleaf and mixed forest. The flora is diverse and is characterized with high endemism. A total of over 1,000 plant species have been identified parkwide

map of Kosovo

Kosovo, officially the Republic of Kosovo, is a partially recognised de facto sovereign state in Southeast Europe. It lies at the centre of the Balkans, occupying an area of 10,887 km2 (4,203 sq mi), with a population of about 1.8 million; it is bordered by Serbia to the north and east, North Macedonia to the southeast, Albania to the southwest, and Montenegro to the west. Most of central Kosovo is dominated by the vast plains and fields of Metohija and Kosovo. The Accursed Mountains and Šar Mountains rise in the southwest and southeast, respectively. Its capital and largest city is Pristina.

In classical antiquity, the central tribe which emerged in the territory of Kosovo were Dardani, who formed an independent polity known as the Kingdom of Dardania in the 4th century BCE. It was annexed by the Roman Empire by the 1st century BCE, and for the next millennium the territory remained part of the Byzantine Empire, whose rule was eroded by Slavic invasions beginning in the 6th–7th century CE. In the centuries thereafter, control of the area alternated between the Byzantines and the First Bulgarian Empire. By the 13th century, Kosovo became the core of the Serbian medieval state, and has also been the seat of the Serbian Orthodox Church from the 14th century, when its status was upgraded to a patriarchate. Ottoman expansion in the Balkans in the late 14th and 15th century led to the decline and fall of the Serbian Empire; the Battle of Kosovo of 1389 is considered to be one of the defining moments in Serbian medieval history. The Ottomans fully conquered the region after the Second Battle of Kosovo. The Ottoman Empire ruled the area until the early 20th century.

In the late 19th century, Kosovo was the center of the Albanian National Movement and where the Albanian revolt of 1910 and Albanian revolt of 1912 took place. Following their defeat in the Balkan Wars, the Ottomans ceded Kosovo to Serbia and Montenegro. Both countries joined Yugoslavia after World War I, and following a period of Yugoslav unitarianism in the Kingdom, the post-World War II Yugoslav constitution established the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija within the Yugoslav constituent republic of Serbia. Tensions between Kosovo's Albanian and Serb communities simmered through the 20th century and occasionally erupted into major violence, culminating in the Kosovo War of 1998 and 1999, which resulted in the withdrawal of the Yugoslav army, and the establishment of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo. Ultimately, Kosovo unilaterally declared its independence from Serbia on 17 February 2008, and has since gained diplomatic recognition as a sovereign state by 97 member states of the United Nations. Serbia does not officially recognise Kosovo as a sovereign state and continues to claim it as its constituent Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, although it accepts the governing authority of the Kosovo institutions as a part of the 2013 Brussels Agreement.

Kosovo is a developing country, with an upper-middle-income economy. It has experienced solid economic growth over the last decade as measured by international financial institutions, and growth every year since the onset of the financial crisis of 2007–2008. Kosovo is a member of the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, and has applied for membership of Interpol and for observer status in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. In addition, it falls within three terrestrial ecoregions: Balkan mixed forests, Dinaric Mountains mixed forests, and Pindus Mountains mixed forests.[184] Kosovo's biodiversity is conserved in two national parks, eleven nature reserves and one hundred three other protected areas.[185] The Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park and Sharr Mountains National Park are the most important regions of vegetation and biodiversity in Kosovo.[186] Kosovo had a 2019 Forest Landscape Integrity Index mean score of 5.19/10, ranking it 107th globally out of 172 countries mapa de Kosovo
