Der Dronketurm ist ein freistehender Aussichtsturm bei Schalkenmehren im Landkreis Vulkaneifel in Rheinland-Pfalz.
Das denkmalgeschützte Bauwerk ist mit ca. 10,5 Meter nicht sehr hoch und steht auf dem Mäuseberg zwischen dem Gemündener und dem Weinfelder Maar.

The Archaeological Museum displays Roman artifacts. Among Trier’s many Catholic churches is Trier Cathedral.

LEAVENWORTH, WA | 10 Awesome Things to Do In & Around Leavenworth
Leavenworth is a charming Bavarian-themed village at the center of Washington State, located 117 miles to the east of Seattle. Leavenworth is a popular weekend getaway for Seattle residents as well as tourists from afar and is arguably one of the most beautiful places in Washington State. In this video, we break down 10 awesome things to do in and around Leavenworth.

10. Indulge in the German cuisine
There are many restaurants that serve German beer, bratwurst, and pretzels. Our favorite places in town include the “Rhein Haus” for its pretzels and German Beer, and the “München Haus” for its bratwurst.
9. Lake Wenatchee
Lake Wenatchee is about 30 minutes away and is a fun place to explore. During the winter, you can go cross-country skiing around the lake. In summertime, it’s a great place to go for a swim or relax at the beach.
8. Hike the Icicle Ridge Trail
The Icicle Ridge Trail is an easy to moderate hike and a must-do when you’re in Leavenworth. It takes roughly 90 mins to reach the beautiful lookout point, with views of the town and surrounding peaks.
7. Take a walk downtown
With its Alpine-style architecture, it’s an experience in itself to simply walk downtown. Leavenworth is fairly small, but it’s so picturesque that you can easily spend a few hours roaming around. Most of the action takes place in Front Street, which is lined with souvenir shops, bars, wine testing rooms, and restaurants. You can also find two museums here: the Nutcracker museum and the Greater Leavenworth Museum.
6. Lake Chelan
About a one-hour drive to the east of Leavenworth, Lake Chelan is a 50 mile long pristine lake. It’s perfect for summer activities, such as boating, fishing, swimming, and kayaking.
5. Explore the waterfront
Leavenworth’s waterfront park can easily be explored on foot. There are many trails that wind through the park, offering beautiful vistas of both the river and the mountains.
4. Go wine tasting
Leavenworth is home to many wineries that host tasting rooms. Our favorite one is the Icicle Ridge Winery, which has two tasting rooms in downtown Leavenworth. But for a more idyllic setting, it’s also possible to taste wine at their log home tasting room in nearby Peshastin.

3. The Peshastin Pinnacles
The Peshastin Pinnacles state park is about a 15 minute drive from Leavenworth. A grouping of tooth-like sandstone rocks stand tall here against the vineyards and golden hills of the Wenatchee Valley.
2. Colchuck day hike
Colchuck is known as the most beautiful lake near Leavenworth, if not in all of Washington State. The hike is about 8 mi round trip with 2280 ft of elevation gain, and takes between 4.5 to 6 hours total.
1. The Enchantments hike
As if Colchuck Lake alone weren’t enough beauty, it is also one of the two gateways to the magical Enchantments area. This hike is extremely tough if done in a day as it is more than 20 mi end-to-end. However, getting to these awe-inspiring alpine lakes is absolutely worth it. You can also break up your journey by camping, but must get lucky in the lottery system if you want to stay overnight in the area.

Wandelen door de Eifel - Eifelsteig etappe 10 - Gerolstein-Daun
Welkom op ons wandelkanaal. Misschien kijk je voor het eerst; extra welkom dan. We hopen dat je het leuk vindt om met ons mee te wandelen.
Ben je al eerder met ons meegewandeld, dan weet je dat we de Eifelsteig in een vreemde volgorde lopen. We zijn ooit begonnen met enkele gemakkelijke etappes en tenslotte hielden we alleen maar de lastigere etappes over.
Met déze etappe erbij hebben we nu de etappes 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 en 13 gelopen.
De resterende etappes van de Eifelsteig zijn we nu aan het dichtlopen.
Nu dan dus de 10e etappe van Gerolstein naar Daun. Een pittige etappe met een stevige klim ergens halverwege en nog een laatste klim vlak voor Daun.
Een etappe zonder veel afwisseling: zeker in het begin véél bos, héél veel bos....
Loop met ons mee en kijk wat je er zelf van vindt.

The municipality lies in the Vulkaneifel, a part of the Eifel known for its volcanic history, geographical and geological features, and even ongoing activity today, including gases that sometimes well up from the earth. Indeed, Wallenborn is named after one of the region's phenomena, found right in the village (see Natural monuments below).

We go on safari, and that in Germany! We go to the wildlife and adventure park in Daun. This park features an 8-kilometer game reserve safari. This can be driven with your own car. There is a wide variety of animals and there are many beautiful viewpoints. The park also has a lot to offer:
A tropical house with exotic animal species
A monkey valley where you can take a walk
An experience farm with many small animals and attractions
Accessible kangaroo enclosure
Falconry
Summer toboggan run
Restaurant

Gaan we op safari, en dat in Duitsland! Wij gaan naar wild- en belevenispark in Daun. Dit park beschikt over een wildpark-safari van 8 kilometer lang. Dit kan met de eigen auto gereden worden. Er is een grote variatie aan dieren en er zijn vele mooie uitzichtpunten. Verder heeft het park erg veel te bieden:
Een tropenhuis met exotische diersoorten
Een apen vallei waar u een rondwandeling kunt maken
Een belevenisboerderij met vele kleindieren en attracties
Begaanbaar kangoeroe verblijf
Valknerij
Zomerrodelbaan
Restaurant

Wandelen door de Eifel - Eifelsteig etappe 11 - Daun-Manderscheid
Welkom op ons wandelkanaal. Bedankt dat je met ons mee wilt lopen op deze 11e etappe van de Eifelsteig tussen Daun en Manderscheid. De omgeving van Daun staat bekend om de Maaren. Dat zijn meren die zijn ontstaan nadat de kraters van uitgedoofde vulkanen zijn volgelopen met water. De etappe slingert vanuit Daun rond drie van deze Maaren. Daarna volgen een paar kilometers door een verstild en verlaten bos. De laatste 10 kilometers lopen door het dal van de Lieser. Een dal van ongekende natuurschoonheid. De etappe eindigt dan vlak bij de burchtruïnes van Manderscheid.
Een pittige etappe die - samen met de zuweg vanaf het busstation in Daun - zo'n dikke 26 km lang is.
Maar ook een etappe die beslist de moeite waard is.
