1. Elizabeth Quay - you can start your day for coffee and breakfast here. If you are a late starter then you can have lunch at The Island - For further information on Elizabeth Quay visit

Kings Park - situated just a few minutes away from the central CBD - this is a magnificent sanctuary providing vast expands of rolling greens and natural bushland - you can easily spend a day here, have a stroll, picnic, discover the many plants the botanic garden has to offer - the park is absolutely free. How to get here, you can catch the free bus running regularly from the centre of the CBD. for further information visit
4. Cathedral Square - admire the beautiful St Georges Cathedral and the Treasury Building - you will also find the The Como Hotel here.
4. London Court - this is by far the most photographed lane way/arcade in Perth - for further information visit
5. Wolf Lane - walk the colourful and vibrant laneway- you will find shops, cafes and bars around here.
6. Shafto Lane - also popular among locals - you will find restaurants and bars here.

Hillarys Boat Harbour is located 23kms north of Perth in the suburb of Hillarys.
It's a short 30 minute drive by car, or an easy train and bus journey using the Transperth public transport service.

Highlights of a visit to Hillarys Boat Harbour include:

The Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA), which is the largest aquarium in Australia and the 10th largest aquarium in the world. View the stunning exhibits to learn about marine life in Western Australia.

Enjoy a walk through the 98 metre under water tunnel, or take a reef walk in the Surrounds of a Live Reef display. Or if you feel like a dare devil, swim with the sharks up-close and personal.

Joondalup Line Joondalup - Butler Closure (8th - 10th Dec 2023) (incl. Yanchep Extension Update)

To just see a quick update on the Yanchep Rail Extension project, please skip to 18:50 in the video.

Over the weekend from the 8th to the 10th of December 2023, the Joondalup Line was closed from Joondalup to Butler as power was shut off on the northern section of the line, allowing for all the new tracks and overhead wire equipment to be installed from Butler to Alkimos. A team of over 1000 workers worked hard overnight to quickly finish construction of the tracks and for the rest of the weekend for all the finishing touches and other trackside equipment installation.

This was a very interesting shutdown as such a situation with the Joondalup Line actually being the JOONDALUP Line hasn't happened during the day time for quite a while. This was also the first time route 904 buses went on the new Mitchell Freeway in daylight since it opened, around the Nowergup train depot with the C-series in it. These buses were mainly operated by Karrinyup depot, including the pride bus 2588 and several B12s going all the way up to Butler!

The first test trains should be running on the line in under two weeks, which I think will be the quickest time after a new track was built in Perth that trains will already be running on it. The line is now planned to open early next year, possibly only around April from what I head with the workers at Butler.
