En esta ocasión nos fuimos a visitar las Cataratas de Santa Avelina en la Aldea de Santa Avelina Guatemala, en el municipio de San Juan Cotzal y las Grutas de Cunen en Cunen, Quiché Guatemala.
Hay muchas cataratas en Guatemala , pero definitivamente estas nos impresionaron mucho! Creemos es uno de los destinos turisticos en guatemala que realmente vale la pena conocer.
Primero llegamos a nebaj quiche , y allí nos hospedamos en un lindo hotel en el centro, y luego tomamos nuestro camino hacia Santa Avelina Guatemala .
Si creías que no había turismo en Quiché, estás muy equivocado, este es un lugar escondido impresionante!

Originally founded in the fifteenth century as the K’iche’ capital of K’umarcaaj Santa Cruz del Quiché was one of the first major cities and department heads of Guatemala. The city lies in the southwestern Chuacús Mountains at an elevation of 6,631 feet (2,021m). The town also functions as a market center for the Indian villages in the vicinity.

¿Por qué nadie habla de este paraíso en Quiché? ¿Por qué todo es Atitlán o Antigua?
No esperaba encontrar un paisaje tan hermoso en Quiché. No porque dudará de su belleza, lo que sucede es que estamos acostumbrados a saber o conocer lo básico de cada departamento de Guatemala y esto no es lo que nos publican de Quiché.
En fin, me hizo muy feliz conocer este paraíso.

Semuc Champey is one of the most beautiful national parks we have ever seen, and one of the best things to do in Guatemala. Natural pools of visual perfection, waterslides, waterfalls, a green river, water swings, tubing, caving, Mayan makeup, what more can you ask for? Guatemala is blowing us away with its natural beauty!! It is not a place we ever panned to travel, but COVID travel has changed everything. Guatemala is one of the places easy for Americans to travel right now. We are glad the Pandemic has driven off the beaten path because Semuc Champey National Park is a ridiculous hidden gem, a 300m long series of natural pools cut into the limestone by God himself. The pools are one of the most beautiful landscapes we have ever seen in person. Just getting to the spot deep in the mountains of Guatemala is a journey in itself, but man is it worth it! Not only can you enjoy the National Park for a very nominal fee, the nearby hostel is a hidden gem, and the private property across the bridge offers all kinds of water activities, including and hour-long caving adventure by candlelight that is truly an exciting descent into the unknown. Waterfalls, natural waterslides, deep water rope crossings, and cliff jumps, all in the pitch black was so much more fun than we envisioned. Would you go caving in a water-filled cave with nothing but a candle? If you have older kids, Semuc is one of the best things to do as a family in Guatemala.

Del 10, Vi starter vores roadtrip i Guatemala - fem dage i en lejet bil ????, så vi har travlt ????
Første stop bliver i Chichicastenango, hvor vi finder et af de største markeder i Mellemamerika. Heldigvis møder vi Juan, der bliver vores guide rundt på markedet og som efterfølgende viser os byens smukt malede kirkegård. I Cunén finder vi hotellet fra vores drømme... her er badekar, varmt vand og Netflix ????.
Vi er en eventyrlysten dansk familie, der deler oplevelser fra vores rejser rundt omkring i verden ????. Familien består af to voksne og vores fem børn, de fleste af dem er voksne nu ???? og det er forskelligt hvordan og hvor meget de deltager.
Vi begyndte at filme vores rejser i 2018, hvor vi trekkede i Himalaya til Everest Base Camp uden guider og bærere. Familiens yngste medlem var på det tidspunkt 8 år og nok den yngste i verden der selv har vandret de 180 km. Det var den smukkeste og hårdeste familie-teambuilding vi kan forestille os - og det var absolut det hele værd.
I 2020 nåede vi lige at rejse til USA og begynde vores næste eventyr før Covid 19 ramte verden og skubbede til alle vores planer. Det er blevet en fantastisk rejse aligevel, I USA og ombyggede vi vores nyindkøbte amerikanske skolebus til en RV og vi har efterfølgende rejst rundt i 23 stater før vi måtte forlade USA og drage hjem til Danmark og vente på at Covid slipper sit tag i hele verden.

Guatemala - Is This The Most UNDERRATED Travel Destination?
Guatemala is one of the cheapest places we have visited so far. It only cost us around $3 per meal and the flight (from Florida) was under $300.
If you have the chance, we highly recommend visiting this beautiful country. If you have any other questions about visiting, feel free to leave a comment below and I will try my best to help you out or even make a video on it.

Hey Friends! After a super long journey to the town of Languin in Guatemala, I made it to the famous zephyr lodge that has amazing views, great people, good parties, and fun adventure trips! I did the river tubing with the hostel the first day and a full day of exploring the caves, pools, and view point at Semuc Champey! It is totally worth the hassle to get there because it is beautiful!!
If you are following along on my route through central America, I did not make a view for the next location unfortunately. I went to Flores and tikal national park just next to the Belize border in Guatemala! It was an amazing time and I do suggest going there!

-How do you afford to travel?
I have had 2 jobs since I was 15 years old and made sure to save at least 90% of that for travel and school. I always have a temporary job when I am home but hope to be able to travel full time to consistently make videos!
-Is traveling solo safe?
I want to say the answer to YES! With lots of caution to everything you do and following my ‘basic backpacker rules’ you should be able to remain safe!

I LOVED Mexico, Nicaragua, Colombia and Ecuador. I know this is a lot but they are all amazing for backpacking throughout the country, meeting international friends, and keeping to a backpacker budget!
