If you are on holiday to Kelantan, Rantau Panjang is a must-visit. This is because, Rantau Panjang is one of the popular locations to shop apart from Pengkalan Kubur.
Here you can buy a variety of essentials at a fairly cheap price. Some of the items you can buy are:
1- Kitchen appliances of various sizes such as pots, pans, dish sets
2- Daily use clothing for various ages
3- Children's toys
4- Different types of fresh fruits
5- Clothing and essentials for outdoor activities
6- Ready-to-process foods such as citrus fruits
7- Women's decorations
8- Bedroom fittings such as veils, pillows and blankets
9- And other necessities
In other words, if you are going to the Rantau Panjang duty-free area you can purchase all your daily necessities in just one area. Before buying make sure you do the bargaining.
Visit Rantau Panjang is not difficult. You can just set your phone's waze or maps to 'Long Region Duty Free Zone'. If you are from the city centre of Kota Bharu, you only need to drive around 1 hour.
Since the Rantau Panjang duty-free area is quite hot with the sun,it is recommended that you take enough water. If you are tired when buying, you can go to the surrounding stalls. Most of the food menus here are according to Thai tastes.
Talk about parking area, you don't have to worry. This is because, the area provided is sufficient to accommodate the number of visitors .
For your information, although this area is duty-free, at every entry/exit point to Rantau Panjang there is a customs unit. Each vehicle will be inspected mainly on exit. In this case, if you buy large quantities of goods, you may be taxed. However, if the goods are purchased a little, you will be released.

In this video we take you to Pangkor Island top attractions and best beaches to relax and have a peaceful trip.
Pangkor island is located in the state of Perak, 3-4 hours drive away from Kuala Lumpur. You can drive or take a bus to Lumut, from there you can take a jetty which operates every day and the ticket is RM7 per adult.
Pangkor island is made up of five small islands, Pangkor being the main island, Pangkor Laut, Pulau Mentagor, Pulau Giam and Pulau Pelandok.
The most popular beach in Pangkor Island is Pasir Bogak, there are a lot of water-sports activities for one to embark on.
Some of the best beaches in Pangkor Island also include Nipah Bay and Coral Bay.
The best way to explore all the islands is to go for Pangkor Island hopping, the ticket costs between RM20-30 per adult if rented per group.
One can also rent the big boat privately for RM200-300 or rent the private small boat for RM40-50.
Hornbills are popular birds in Pangkor and there is even hornbills feeding activity
In Pangkor, if you want to move around quick and visit all attractions you can rent a scooter for around RM30/day.
One of the top tourists attractions in Pangkor island is Dutch Fort (Kota Belanda). Dutch Fort Pangkor Island was built by the Dutch in 1670 to store and control the tin trade in Malaysia.
Dutch fort is nowadays a historical site thanks to Malaysian government for reconstructing it in 1974.
The best place to snorkel in Pangkor island is to go for Pulau Giam snorkelling.
We ended the trip by visiting Taman Paya Bakau which is a reserved mangrove in Lumut hosting a lot of monkeys.
