VIA ELLENICA (da Brindisi a Matera) - 10. Montescaglioso - Matera (km 20)
Montescaglioso merita un'ultima visita illuminata dal sole del mattino e poi si scende fino a valle. Da questo punto in poi il cammino prosegue nella pianura di seminativi e uliveti: vaste distese di campi di grano e maestosi rapaci che volteggiano nei cieli accompagnano il viandante per gran parte della tappa. Per alcuni chilometri si cammina lungo un suggestivo sentiero che corre a ridosso della gravina di Matera: un profondo canyon costellato di case-grotta e chiese rupestri. L’arrivo a Matera avviene da rione Casalnuovo: uno stretto passaggio scavato nella roccia conduce al cospetto della straordinaria e ancestrale bellezza dei Sassi che costituiscono la meta del cammino.

???? The trail is being restored by the volunteers of the Italian Alpine Club. At the same time, it is being reviewed by the young team of the Va' Sentiero expedition, in order to offer everyone the incredible opportunity to explore it firsthand following their experience!
The Va' Sentiero expedition has started in May 2019 from the Gulf of Trieste and has so far completed almost 5.000 Km out of 7.000 km, including some personal deviations and reaching the bottom of Puglia region.
In 2021 Va' Sentiero will complete its expedition on the Grand Italian Trail so... #staytuned!!

Poi da #Crispiano a #MartinaFranca attraversando il #BoscodellePianelle ???? uno dei polmoni verdi più importanti del Sud Italia ????
Ed ancora da Martina Franca, perla barocca della Valle d'Itria, ad #Alberobello, lungo infiniti #murettiasecco e immersi nel tipico paesaggio rurale ⛏️ della #MurgiadeiTrulli.
Infine da Alberobello a #Locorotondo lungo i sentieri dell’acquedotto pugliese, tra il paesaggio del bosco da un lato e l’ampia vallata del #canalediPirro dall’altro. ????
Per poi raggiungere quelle piccole case bianche disposte su anelli concentrici a 410 m s.l.m. che formano Locorotondo ????
