????I drove an hour past fields, orchards, and creepy old abandoned industrial buildings by the train tracks to find the gates of Corcoran State Prison where my husband is in Central California. Governor Newsom, have you ever bothered to come here? Why have you ignored me for 2 years as I asked again and again for you to set my husband free? An ambulance with lights flashing entered the prison gates as I worried I would get in trouble for parking at them. They are like the Gates of Hell, with Covid-19 raging through the distant prison like wildfire. Jose said he is not safe in his small cell with so many men about him. He has no choice about his safety. I haven't seen him in almost a year, as these gates are closed to visitors. Yet I am not afraid to be here. Jesus said that even the Gates of Hell could not stand against his name. Governor Newsom, come meet me here. Free my husband!????

Exploring the Historic African American Community of Allensworth, Ca.
California's Central Valley might be the last place you would have expected African Americans of the early 20th century to found a town but that is exactly what they did. Col. Allen Allensworth had the idea of an independent, self sufficient town where Blacks could live free of discrimination.
When he retired from the U.S. Army in 1906 he set about making that vision a reality. In 1908, a small group of other like-minded men formed the California Colony and Home Promotion Association and 800 acres were purchased from the Pacific Farming Company along the Santa Fe Railroad tracks at a stop called Solita, about 40 miles northwest of Bakersfield.
Col. Allensworth spent a great deal of time promoting the new town to prospective settlers from around the country.
The town experienced up and down times over the years and its last residents left in 1970 when the land was purchased by the State Park System, who began turning the settlement into the park we see today.
It is located on California Highway 43 between Wasco and Corcoran and is open all year except holidays with camping available.

One of the wettest winters on record brought back this lake after it was drained for agricultural use in the late 1800s. Welcome back to part 2 of the worst towns for 2020. This is a list of cities and towns that are going downhill and you should probably avoid moving to them if you have other options. In the last handful of years, most of America has seen some good times. People have jobs, the economy is growing, crime is down across the board, and the towns on the list are sort of swimming against the current. These are towns that all that progress has sort of skipped over. The good time train doesn’t make a stop in the towns.
Like I said in the last video there are 4464 cities in the United States and only about 10% are appealing enough for most people to want to move there. This list is in no particular order. Please keep that in mind when leaving a comment. That being said, if you are looking for a new city or town to call home you should probably stay away from it.

In our search for more Chinatowns, we headed to the San Joaquin Valley and ended up in the small city of Hanford. With its proximity to Visalia and Fresno, the Chinese settled in Hanford beginning in 1877 after the Southern Pacific built a railroad line through Hanford. Chinatown was relocated from the original site after the entire down town was burned down. No longer an active Chinatown, Hanford's China Alley still preserved a few old Chinatown buildings for Chinatown enthusiasts like myself.
If you visit Hanford's China Alley today, you will see various shops, although some are closed due to COVID-19, and others have been seemingly closed for many years now.
