Seminole Canyon State Park-Comstock, Texas
We make an overnight stop on our way to the big bend of the Lone Star State. This state park was very peaceful. It was too cold to film or explore a lot. We plan to return when the weather is nicer and take the guided tour to the bottom of the canyon. Although a short video, we hope we captured the beauty of the area

Hey, explorers! We're heading to Kickapoo Cavern State Park, located west of San Antonio, to unveil some natural wonders. Most people visit to hike, explore cool caves, and watch thousands of bats zoom out from Stuart Cave. If you're curious about what makes Kickapoo Cavern State Park so special, come join us! We'll hike, check out interesting spots, and even take a tour inside a cave every Saturday. Don't forget to subscribe to learn more before your next adventure at a Texas State Park! ????️????✨
????Things to Do at Kickapoo Cavern State Park
The park offers hiking and mountain biking, caves, camping, bird-watching, geocaching and evening bat flight viewing (March-October).
????Hiking/biking trails
Hike or bike miles of trails, catching glimpses of wildlife along the way. Don’t miss the Armadillo Lookout Trail, which leads to a panoramic view of the southwestern area of the park.
????Camping
Stay overnight at one of 10 campsites with water only, and a 30-person group camp. This park cannot fit RVs over 36'.
????Caves
The park has 20 known caves; the two largest are Kickapoo Cavern and Stuart Bat Cave. Unauthorized entry into caves is not allowed, to protect the caves and the creatures that live in them.
Cave tours every Saturday at 1 p.m. (reservations required; 10 people max. per tour)
Kickapoo Cavern is about 1,400 feet long, the result of 4 million years of geologic change.
Stuart Bat Cave is slightly shorter than Kickapoo and is the seasonal home to thousands of Mexican free-tailed bats. The bats live in the cave from mid-March to the end of October. They leave the cave each evening at dusk to hunt for their prey - insects.

First visit of Seminole Canyon State Park & Historic Site, Texas.
We toured the Fate Bell tour and then hiked half of the canyon rim trail. We visited points of interest 2-5 on this trip to Seminole Canyon.
Stories in Stone
Early canyon dwellers left clues to their lives on the stone walls of Seminole Canyon. Their pictographs tell stories that we try to understand today. Come see this special place for yourself; we’re along the Rio Grande near Del Rio.
Things to Do
Ancient rock art will draw you here. But you’ll find other things to do as well: Camp, hike, mountain bike, geocache and study history and nature.
Camp at one of our 46 campsites. These range from primitive drive-up sites to sites with water and electricity, all with restrooms and showers nearby.
Hike and bike to the Rio Grande or along the Seminole Canyon rim. The park has almost 10 miles of trails. Note: You may only hike in the canyon area with a guide, but you can access all other trails on your own.
