Driving Around Small Town Coldwater, Michigan in 4k Video
Filmed on Tuesday, May 30 2023, I drive around the village Coldwater, MI to see what's going on.
Coldwater is a city in Branch County, Michigan, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 13,822.
American settlers did not move into the area until around 1830, with many arriving from New York and New England. Coldwater was incorporated as a village in 1837, and then incorporated by the legislature as a city in 1861.
The Coldwater River flows into the city from the south, originating from Coldwater Lake. The Coldwater chain of lakes also has an outlet called the Sauk River.
Several seasonal annual festivals are held in Coldwater. The Ice Festival held in January features ice carvings, a chili-tasting competition, and other family activities. The Strawberry fest held in June features many different foods made from strawberries and arts and crafts. The Apple Fest held in September features home-baked goods made from apples and various arts and crafts.
The Tibbits Opera House in Coldwater was built in 1882; it is the second-oldest theater in Michigan. It was converted to a movie theater in the 1930s. In the 1960s a campaign began to restore its original use as a theater for live performances with the eventual goal of restoring its French Empire architecture. It is now a venue for a variety of cultural activities.
As of the census of 2020, there were 13,822 people living in the city.
The racial makeup of the city was 92.5% White, 0.6% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.8% Asian, 3.2% from other races, and 2.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.6% of the population.
The median income for a household in the city was $33,913, and the per capita income for the city was $15,833. About 6.0% of families and 9.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 11.6% of those under age 18 and 7.9% of those age 65 or over. #driving #travel #drivingtour

How small are the smallest towns in one of the least populated states in America? Take this trip around The Sunflower State with me as I visit all of the top-10 smallest towns in Kansas (source 2019 US Census estimates). This is one of the most enjoyable trips I have taken! Even though these places are barely dots on a map, they all have a history to be told and hold a certain type of charm and beauty for people like me. I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did making it!

Coldwater Peak was one of the best Fall experiences I’ve had in Southwest Washington. ✨
And on the edge of the Mount Margaret backcountry.. I didn’t want this day to end. Will most definitely be seeking out backpacking permits in the future. ????
