-La comida está deliciosa, imáginense que Rosy dijo que le gustaba más el mole de ahí ¡que el de su abuelita!. En serio es muy sabroso, no se que le ponen a la comida pero está deliciosa. El mejor lugar para comer en Coatepec, punto.
*Subir al mirador del cerro de las culebras
-Sube a pie al cerro, pero encuentra las escaleras por que si no si que te vas a cansar recorriéndolo todo por la rampa de los autos. Ve lo más tempranito que puedas, ten en cuenta que lo abren a las 10am.
*Visita la Parroquia de San Jerónimo
-Está bonita la iglesia, lo más padre es su atrio y sus fuentes, no necesitas más de 15 minutos para recorrerlo y te queda cerca del parque Hidalgo.
*Visita el palacio municipal de Coatepec
-Lo que vale la pena del palacio municipal es un mural que narra pictóricamente la historia del Pueblo. También hay unos baños públicos que puedes usar si ya te anda
*La casa de los Azulejos
-Venden un montón de artesanías interesantes, nuestro local favorito fue el de Noemí que tiene su tienda llamada Mirlo, su trabajo es genial, te lo recomendamos mucho.
*Visita el museo del café
-Toma un taxi y pide que te lleven al museo del café, el recorrido dura como 45 minutos y está padre por que puedes probar un café muy rico al final del recorrido. Te garantizo que terminando no volverás a ver el café de la misma forma.
*Come churros en la plaza
-Los tradiconales churros preparados, son super ricos y baratos, la gente hace fila por hacerse de una bolsita o un plato. Es algo que debes de probar, no importa que estés a dieta, si no los comes te vas a arrepentir.

Pueblo Mágico de Coatepec
Coatepec es una región cafetalera de mayor tradición y calidad en nuestro país desde el siglo pasado. Además de estar rodeado por diferentes formaciones caprichosas de la naturaleza que van desde senderos, cerros, paredes hasta cascadas y saltos de agua, Coatepec tiene una rica mezcla colonial y que en su herencia, ha dejado cerca de 370 inmuebles con valor histórico, por lo que fue declarada Patrimonio Histórico de la Nación.Su nombre viene del náhuatl Cóatl (Culebra) y Tepetl (Cerro). Coatepec significa por ende En el Cerro de las Culebras, sabia descripción que los antiguos pobladores indígenas utilizaron para bautizar la fertilidad de su tierra, ya que la culebra representaba a la Diosa de la Tierra y la Fecundidad, la deidad del sol y de las flores. Las exploraciones arqueológicas y los hallazgos accidentales revelaron que en el municipio de Coatepec se asentó una población totonaca. Los inicios de esta pródiga tierra datan por ende de épocas precolombinas. Los cronistas conquistadores no hacen mención concreta sobre su paso por Coatepec, pero se sabe que la zona constituía un paso obligado en la ruta hacia Tenochtitlán.
Coatepec es reconocido por su producción de café y, por ello, a menudo se le llama La capital del café en México.
Atractivos Turísticos en Coatepec Dentro de los Atractivos Históricos Coatepec cuenta con la Parroquia de San Jerónimo, Iglesia del Calvario, Iglesia de la Luz, Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, el Palacio municipal, la Escuela Cantonal “Benito Juárez”, el Mercado Miguel Rebolledo, la Ex Hacienda La Orduña, la Hacienda El Trianón y la Ex Hacienda de Zimpizahua.
El Parque Hidalgo, ubicado en el centro de Coatepec, alrededor de él se ubican la Iglesia de San Jerónimo y el palacio municipal. Los paseantes del parque habitualmente gustan de caminar a sus alrededores y visitar sus cafeterías y restaurantes o, como tradición, disfrutar de una nieve.
Dentro de los atractivos Culturales se tiene al Museo Interactivo Cafetal Apan, el Museo del Café “La Mata”, la Casa Museo Maria Enriqueta y la Casa de la Cultura.
Dentro de los Atractivos Naturales podemos encontrar la Cascada “Bola de oro”, la Cascada “La Granada”, El “cerro de las culebras”. Además es recomendable visitar Los famosos “Orquidearios”.
Fiestas Populares en Coatepec Fiestas patronales de San Jerónimo y Festival Cultural San Jerónimo (24 al 30 de Septiembre). Es el Santo Patrono de Coatepec y en su honor se organiza a finales de septiembre la fiesta más importante de la ciudad con solemnes actos religiosos, procesiones, eventos artísticos y culturales.
Celebración de la virgen de Guadalupe (12 de Diciembre). Cómo todo México, Coatepec también está de fiesta, al empezar con las típicas mañanitas, seguido de verbenas populares y diversas actividades religiosas a lo largo del día, organizadas por los mismos locales.
Feria del Café (Mayo 1 al 15). Es una fiesta popular llena de tradiciones que se celebra del primero al día quince de Mayo y en donde se encuentran un sinfín de actividades que van desde la venta de café y sus derivados hasta conciertos de artistas locales y nacionales, bailes populares, toros y muchas actividades más.
Desfiles Cívicos conmemorativos del 16 de Septiembre y del 20 de Noviembre. Por la calle principal se alinean los locales para presenciar el desfile de las escuelas de educación media superior y superior, que al sonar de las bandas de guerra y de interesantes formaciones, nos recuerdan el valor histórico y social de estas fechas para el país.
Gastronomía en Coatepec Desde la tradicional cocina regional hasta las nuevas propuestas de gastronomía internacional, Coatepec ofrece a sus visitantes una rica oferta culinaria. Le invitamos a disfrutar de la típica cecina coatepecana, de sus famosas truchas y langostinos, de sus antojitos y de sus diferentes variedades de pan horneado a la leña. A Visit to TOLUCA, Estado de Mexico
In this episode, we visit the capital city of the State of Mexico, Toluca de Lerdo, or just Toluca. Toluca gets a bad rap in CDMX, but we think it's somewhat unfair. Being so close in proximity to Mexico City, this little big city naturally suffers by comparison to its cosmopolitan neighbor to the east, but it offers a very different experience. Toluca is nestled in a mountainous pine forest and is much colder than most of Mexico, being the highest altitude capital city in North America.
We visit the Cosmovitral Jardín Botánico de Toluca, the Catedral de Toluca, and several other attractions.

All roads seem to lead to the town's main plaza, known as the Zocalo. Sitting in the shadow of the beautifully detailed Church of Santa Prisca, the Zocalo is a wonderful place to eat, shop, and relax. Head back after dark for strolling mariachi musicians.
If food is what you're after, Taxco doesn't disappoint. Excellent meals can be found a Central Cafe, Armando's Taqueria, and Rosa Mexicano. Don't miss out on the local regional specialties such as Mole Rosa, Enchiladas Jamaica, and the Berta, Taxco's refreshing twist on the classic margarita.
There's plenty to do Taxco besides eat. Get immersed in Taxo's mining history by taking a mine tour. If views are what you're after, ride the Montetaxco cable car to the top of an adjacent hill for sweeping views of the city below. Or head catch ride in a vintage VW beetle to the Cristo Monumental Taxco for even more breathtaking views and to marvel at the base of the 60ft tall statue of Christ.
Taxco takes your breath away and not just because of its impossibly steep streets. It's a proud, sophisticated place that the locals lovingly maintain. Pozas Azules: AMAZING Natural Pools in Guerrero, Mexico! | Mexico Travel Vlog
The Pozas Azules, located about 45 minutes from Taxco, are a group of natural pools and waterfalls hidden in the mountainside. I spent a refreshing day here while visiting Taxco and loved the crystal clear waters (although they are QUITE chilly!) Getting there was super easy by collectivo/combi and cost next to nothing. Entrance for the day was 100 pesos, or around 5 dollars.
You can take day trips from Mexico City to Taxco, but I would really recommend spending 2-3 days there because it's such a beautiful city with so much to do! But if you only have a short time in CDMX, you could check out some of these tours by Get Your Guide:

Ixtapan de la Sal en el Estado de México | Pueblo Mágico | Tonatico | San Pedro Tecomatepec
Ixtapan de la Sal en el Estado de Megico es un Pueblo Mágico que es sinónimo de descanso y salud, un lugar para meditación, curación y sobre todo de relajación gracias a sus excelentes servicios de masaje y fisioterapia.
Ofrece un magnífico clima soleado, sus célebres aguas termales de propiedades curativas, y una vegetación exuberante; vive la usanza de un baño de vapor prehispánico: el temazcal. Déjate guiar por los cantos de un chamán, medita y encuéntrate con lo más profundo de tu ser y del universo.
En Ixtapan de la Sal, también podrás divertirte en su parque acuático, o disfrutar de las Grutas de la Estrella con sus maravillosas formaciones rocosas debido al escurrimiento de agua en sus rocas. Si eres de espíritu aventurero baja al río subterráneo El Zapote, es un paseo que se lleva a cabo entre febrero y junio donde te maravillará lo sorprendente que puede resultar ver un haz de luz tocando el agua.
Características:
Iztapan deriva del náhuatl y se combina de iztatl que significa sal y pan que expresa en o sobre, su significado es Sobre la Sal. Los nahuas exploraban la sal de esta zona, y en 1472 los Mexicas obligaron a los locales a pagar tributo con este producto. Con la llegada de los conquistadores para 1540 los predicadores erigieron el templo de la Asunción.
Ubicado a 1,880 m de altitud; posee una temperatura media de 26º C, de clima semicálido y subhúmedo y pocas variaciones a lo largo del año; y lluvias durante el verano. Rodeado de bosques y árboles florales.
La gastronomía local ofrece chilacayotes en pipián y carne de puerco, guajolote en mole rojo, y pancita de res o menudo. Si eres de gustos eclécticos y estás en época de lluvias pregunta por unos calates en salsa verde. También son típicas las gorditas de chicharrón, frijol, haba, y requesón; o bien tamales de todo tipo. Como postres encuentras dulce de pepita y ates, jaleas y mermeladas de frutas. La bebida típica es el agua frescas de lima.
Para compras admira la alfarería: floreros, jarros, macetas, y vajillas; y el tallado de madera: esculturas, juguetes, recipientes, y utensilios de cocina. También recomendamos ver los productos de metales forjados.
Ixtapan de la Sal se encuentra muy cerca de la Ciudad de México, y debido a esto y a su maravilloso clima se ha convertido en uno de los principales destinos para disfrutar de actividades acuáticas cerca de la ciudad.
En Ixtapan de la Sal se encuentra el Parque Acuático Ixtapan, considerado el más grande de América Latina. Su oferta hotelera cuanta con spas cuyos servicios medicinales, de relajación y de belleza tienen una gran calidad.
La Parroquia de la Asunción es un icono de Ixtapan de la Sal. Su barda atrial se encuentra adornada con diseños peculiares, y su torre y blanca fachada de estilo tequitqui sobresalen a la vista.
En el Jardín Central es recomendable caminar alrededor de su quiosco y su fuente que se ilumina los fines de semana.
En Ixtapan de la Sal se encuentra una réplica de la Diana Cazadora ubicada en la Ciudad de México.
A sólo 15 kilómetros se encuentran las Grutas de la Estrella. Camina entre estalactitas y estalagmitas a través de senderos y escaleras diseñadas para que el visitante las pueda recorrer con mayor facilidad.
El Balneario Municipal se encuentra muy cerca del Jardín Central y cuenta con excelentes instalaciones a muy buen precio, además de alberca de aguas termales que emanan de su interior.
El Balneario Spa y Parque Acuático Ixtapan cuenta con numerosos toboganes, paseos en lancha, juegos infantiles, aguas termales, servicios de masaje y fisioterapia.
No dejes de consentirte con un spa o un masaje en Serenity Grand Spa, aquí también se encuentra Spa Kids, el cual será ideal para los más pequeños.
Para los amantes del golf se encuentra la Gran Reserva Ixtapan Country Club.
A la hora de la comida no dejes de probar los chilacayotes en pipián, la pancita de res y el mole rojo, los cuales son uno de los platillos más representativos de Ixtapan de la Sal.

Visitando La Marquesa / Valle Recreativo El Zarco - Diana y Aarón (DYA)
El Parque Nacional Insurgente Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla conocido popularmente como La Marquesa se encuentra en la Delegación Cuajimalpa de Morelos en la Ciudad de México y los municipios de Ocoyoacac, Huixquilucan y Lerma en el estado de México, establecido por Decreto Presidencial el 9 de septiembre de 1936, con una extensión de 1,760 hectáreas, 1,602 de ellas en el estado de México.
Al encontrarse en la sierra que divide los valles de México y Toluca y compartir frontera con el Parque nacional Desierto de los Leones, cuenta con varios atractivos naturales como es un bosque de coníferas de gran altura, por lo cual crecen gran cantidad de plantas todo el año, con una gran presencia de fauna natural aunque recelosa ante la presencia humana, por lo que solo se le pueden ver en los parajes más lejanos del parque, como son los cerros cercanos a San Miguel donde hace frontera con el Desierto de los Leones.
El parque se encuentra a unos 2,800 m.s.n.m. en sus partes más bajas y unos 3,000 m.s.n.m. en sus cimas más elevadas, su clima es semifrío-subhúmedo por lo que es común que se presenten nevadas los meses de diciembre, enero y febrero. Con lluvias en verano y temperaturas extremas de 25 °C a -2 °C, durante todo el año y una media de 12 °C

En estos cuerpos de agua ubicados en le Nevado de Toluca, considerados entre los más altos del mundo, usted puede bucear si tiene experiencia y una especialidad en buceo de altura; aquí es posible realizar una inmersión protegido con un traje de neopreno. Uno de los mayores atractivos de sumergirse en estas frías aguas con fondo cenagoso es su importancia arqueológica, pues el lugar fue utilizado con fines religiosos, según atestiguan los restos de cerámica y copal que frecuentemente encuentran quienes se atreven a penetrar aquí. La temporada de invierno trae diferentes visitantes, el paisaje cambia, la nieve llega a cubrir los llanos, los salientes rocosos y las cumbres, como el Pico del Fraile y el Espinazo del Diablo, y en los años más fríos alcanza la vegetación de coníferas que rodea y forma parte de este Parque Nacional.

After visiting Tepoztlán, Morelos we made the 2-hour drive to Taxco, Guerrero. This is a Pueblo Mágico (Magic Town) we've wanted to visit for a LONG time and it didn't disappoint. In today's Mexico vlog, we're sharing some of our favorite experiences of the trip:
- Checking out the Saturday silver market (Taxco is a former mining town known for its silver)
- Sampling some of the local cuisine, like mezcal from Guerrero and Pozole Verde at Pozoleria Tia Felix
- Getting lost in the streets of Taxco which are like a drunken spider web
- Enjoying the spectacular views of the city from various lookout points—the whitewashed buildings, red tile roofs, and mountains were so beautiful!
- Taking a few cab rides in the typical VW taxis
- Looking at the colorful and hand-crafted artesanías (handicrafts) like painted hats, VW bug piggie banks, and mugs
- Enjoying some drinks on 2nd story balconies with views of Santa Prisca church
- Staying at a historic rental with a 250-year old tree and great views (Airbnb listing:
Suffice it to say, this week was INCREDIBLE and we can't wait to travel back to Taxco, Guerrero again. One week just wasn't enough.

What a pleasant surprise!!! I took a 3 hour road trip from Mexico City a lovely small town called Taxco, which looks like a fairy tale!
There are so many things to enjoy about Taxco, but it's most famous for having the purest silver in all of Mexico.
Mining here began in the pre-Hispanic period with natives extracting a stones for ritual purposes. Then the Spanish came along and discovered silver in the early 16th Century, and they started commercial mining in the area and built an amazing church in 1758 which still stands today. Even though mining has stopped in the region, the town of Taxco has remarkably carried on its silver tradition. The streets are filled with hundreds of shops, markets and open air venues selling all kinds of fine silver jewelry and they still make every piece by hand.
