Niagara Falls Awesome Things to Do and Amazing Places to See
Ready to have some fun? Hop on the GO Train and take a trip with us to Niagara Falls, Ontario. On this trip we will take a ride on the 175 foot Skywheel and watch an artificial volcano explode, descend a 125 feet to take a journey behind the falls, visit North America's only class six rapids, ascend 775 feet above the falls to get a 360 view of it on the Skylon Tower, visit a miniature village with a cool model train on it, cross the Niagara Whirlpool suspended 240 feet above it on the Whirlpool Aero Car, see The Floral Showhouse, visit the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory, watch the light show on the falls at night and of course have some wonderful walks enjoying the views that Niagara has to offer and much, much more. CLIFTON HILL HERITAGE WALK - Victoria 2020
Peter, Joseph and Ruby explore the suburb of Clifton Hill.
The confluence of the Yarra River and the Merri Creek was an important area for the local people, the Wurundjeri-willam. The area now known as Clifton Hill (a name first used in 1871) became Crown land, until late 1855 when it was annexed to the newly formed municipality of East Collingwood.
However, by this date east Clifton Hill had already been settled by contractors who used the local bluestone to build themselves houses. Noxious processes were established, with abattoirs from the 1850s, followed by a manure depot and tanneries. Most residential development took place later in the 19th century, and 20th century.
Almost the whole of Clifton Hill is covered by two Heritage Overlays, HO316 and HO317.
This trail covers a considerable distance so you may prefer to walk sections on separate occasions. Yarra City Council acknowledges the
assistance of the Collingwood Historical Society in compiling this walk (2018)

Clifton Hill is one of the most important transport interchanges for the north of Melbourne. It's an interesting place to explore with trains, trams, buses and roads all featuring prominently in the area.

The World’s Most Art Deco McDONALD’s - CLifton Hill, Melbourne, Australia
Constructed in 1937-1938, the former UNITED KINGDOM HOTEL is the design of architect James Hastie Wardrop.
This hotel is a beautiful specimen of the Art Deco style and historic era.
The hotel operated for 50 years until its closure in 1988.
The pub was delicensed in 1988 and converted into an outlet of McDONALD’s soon after.
Due to the heritage status of the building, the fast food company was obliged to maintain its unique, sculptured both inside and out. It’s had little modification during its journey from watering hole to fast-food outlet.
Now it is best known as the most beautiful and art deco McDONALD’s in the world.
