MOLDOVA | Travel from Gagauzia to Transnistria | COMRAT to TIRASPOL
NOVEMBER 2019 After a wonderful 3 days in Comrat it was time to head to the republic of Transnistria, also known as Pridnestrovskaia Moldavskaia Respublica (PMR).
We thought we had to go via Chisinau, but it turns out that there were daily marshrutkas that ran directly from Comrat to Tiraspol!
It was a great opportunity to see the countryside and to enjoy a scenic marshrutka ride!

Chisinau is the capital the Republic of Moldova. Moldova is a small,
landlocked European country near Ukraine and Romania.
We start our winter tour on an afternoon at the Triumphal arch with a
view of the Great National Assembly Square. The Nativity Cathedral
in Chisinau's Cathedral Park also is among the main sights of this
city which we see during the first few minutes.
As a less touristy city we see mostly locals when we walk on the
Strada Columna and laterthe Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Boulevard.
The main street has most of the shops and also a little arts /
souvenirs market between the Organ Hall (Sala cu Orga) and the
Mihai Eminescu National Drama Theater (Teatrul National Mihai
Eminescu”).
We head a bit south and on the Str. Veronica Micle towards the
National Palace (Palatul National) and Stephen the Great Central
Park (Gradina Publica ,,Stefan cel Mare si Sfant)
Afterthe park we pass the Moldova National Opera Ballet (Teatrul
National de Opera si Balet ,,Maria Biesu) on our way back to the
Central Park where we end this tour of the centre of Chisinau.
