Now, we all know that Copenhagen can be expensive, SO, the daily pass for 80 Krone is a rather affordable way to move around and explore the city. That's what I did anyway.

Christianshaven is a beautiful area which used to be the main port and the commercial center untill 1920s when the modern harbour came about. Back in the 17th and 18th century, most of these buildings were warehouses.

If you're navigating on foot without a map, worry not - enjoy the hike with these beautiful views and let Our Savior's Church, the center piece of Freetown Christiania , be your homing beacon to reach there. This beautiful landmark can be seen from all over town and if you climb on top, you will also be rewarded with breathtaking view of the entire city!

A few mins walk from the Church and we're here. This is Freetown Christiania , a place where life is lived at a very different pace. Established in 1971 from military barrack foundation, the self governed hippie haven of Denmark, is a city within the city of Copenhagen and is home to around 1500 people who make their own rules and, fueled by creativity, shape their own future.

More about the place coming up in the video, but first, here is what I had to say when I was there:

Free Your Life, make your own choice, is the motto that this places lives by. That, along with the liberal attitude of residents towards soft drugs which are grown and sold here, is an invite that's drawn tourists from all over the world in huge numbers.

Contrary to popular tourist belief, Freetown Christiania is not full of gang members and drug dealers, their is a lot of different types of people, hippie's, students, homeless and literally every type of person, it's a peaceful place where you can relax and chill out (if you want) or just maybe go sightseeing or have some food, it's not a low-life trash hole like most other people describes it.

Freetown Christiania houses around 65-70 self built homes. You won't find any cars or advertisement hoardings here, simply cuz they're NOT allowed!

Drugs are illegal in Denmark, yet here in the Pusher street, the 'pushers' indulge in an organized open trade of the same which has thus caused dramatic showdowns with the Danish Police. Needless to say that the pushers don't like the police or unaware tourists who go about clicking photos in the Pusher street despite signs clearing stating the obvious i.e. No Photos

Well, Freetown Christiania isn't only about the Pusher street. The city within the city is actually quite large and the area is about a standard 18 hole golf course. There are cafes, pubs, open bars, restaurants etc. Every Sunday in the summer, there is a thing called Nemoland. It's a concert-like thing where different artists come to play music for the people that live and visits Christiania. The money that you spend here is vital to Christiania's survival.

So, overall, I would say that depending on your perspective, the place will either qualify as a shanty town full of oddly painted buildings and colorful houses along with hippies and soft drugs OR a do your own things haven of creativity, peace and freedom. Which one is your version? Let me know in your comments below!

Thank you for watching this video about Freetown Christiania !

I am a Pinoy vlogger, and I am vlogging Europe for now. Soon, I'll vlog the other parts of the world as well. Denmark is very special to me as it's the 35th country that I visited. This year I am 35 years old, so that's what makes Denmark so memorable to start my vlogging journey.

So, in this video join me as we explore the colourful Danish capital, COPENHAGEN. We have got 10 wonderful places that you can visit without shelling money out. Take note that some of the places has an entrance fee to enter. But, you can definitely enjoy the beauty of the city without spending too much on entrances and whatsoever.

I'd hope you like this video. You may share it to your family members, friends, fellow travelers and to everyone who loves traveling like me.

What I'd love about Copenhagen is it's size. The city is not that big. So you can visit the city within couple of days. The city has free toilets as well to use, and they are located in some public places. It is something that other European cities don't have. So have to go first in the restaurant or you have to pay just to pee or something.

10 Things To Do in Copenhagen, Denmark for tourists and locals.

✅Best-Selling travel gear
????Booking.com Deals

Historic and beautiful, Copenhagen’s reputation varies from person to person. If you’re young then it’s a literal playground, with the world’s oldest amusement parks and some of the trendiest shopping and nightspots anywhere. For culture, there are historic palaces and museums in which Viking and Bronze Age treasures are on display.

Welcome to ThingsToDo Channel, today we are going to list ten things to do in Copenhagen.

See the Little Mermaid Statue.

This instantly recognizable statue sitting on a rock next to the Langelinie promenade is surely the most famous landmark in the city. The sculptor Edvard Eriksen created the mermaid in 1913 as a tribute to the author Hans Christian Andersen, and it’s inspired by Andersen’s eponymous fairytale.

Discover the History of Denmark.

Copenhagen’s National Museum is the sort of attraction in which you could lose hours without realizing. There’s a remarkable wealth of artifacts here, from all eras of Denmark’s past. If you see nothing else take a look at the Trundholm Sun Chariot. It’s a Bronze Age item, dating to 1400BC, with a bronze statue of a horse pulling a gold disc representing the sun.

Ride a bike around town.

Copenhagen has to be one of the most bike-friendly cities in the world.vAlmost everyone who lives here rides regularly, and it’s so safe that you’ll see many people on bikes without helmets. The city is flat of course, which helps, but the cycle lanes are very broad and since it helps keep pollution down, people are encouraged to cycle whenever they have to make a trip.

Walk around the Botanical Garden.

Occupying 10 hectares right in the middle of Copenhagen, these gardens are valued as much for their botanical wealth as the majestic iron and glass structures that house them.

Explore Christiana.

They do things differently in Christiania, on the site of old military land in Christianshavn. It’s a commune that was established back in 1971 on the back of the counterculture movement. Nearly half a century later it continues to thrive, although things have been bumpy along the way as the people who live and work here wrangle with the Danish government for more autonomy.

Visit Rosenborg Castle.

This palace was built by Christian IV at the start of the 1600s. His long reign and engagement in the Thirty Years’ War that swept across mainland Europe made him one of the best-known Scandinavian Kings.

Get a thrilling dose of adrenaline at Bakken Amusement Park.

An earthy alternative to Tivoli Gardens, Bakken is an amusement park that has been located right here since 1583. As you might guess, this makes it the oldest operating amusement park in the world. Bakken sits hidden in beech woodland a few kilometers up from Copenhagen and after Tivoli Gardens it’s the most popular tourist attraction in Denmark.

Go on a Copenhagen Pub Crawl.

A fine starting point for a night out in Copenhagen is on one of the many side streets that branch off Strøget. Here you can drink with locals and prices are a little lower than the picturesque but touristy Nyhavn. On weekends this can be your launchpad for a fun night out in a city where clubs are cool and unpretentious, and live music is a way of life. Younger visitors can party all night at clubs in Nørrebro that stay open ’til five in the morning and represent all sorts of scenes.

Try Danish Cuisine.

When most people picture Danish cuisine they think of Smørrebrød, which actually means “butter and bread”. The reality is a lot more exciting and entails anything from cheese, cold-cuts, egg, fish and seafood, topped off with seasoning and garnishes. For the uninitiated the experience is akin to Spanish pinchos. Copenhagen is also ground zero for the new Nordic cuisine, where geniuses work wonders with molecular processes and emphasize the quality of regional ingredients. Noma on Strandgade is of course at the forefront, with two Michelin stars and rapturous international acclaim for more than a decade.

Tivoli Gardens.

Such is this theme park’s fame that some people come to Copenhagen just t visit Tivoli Gardens. And even if you’re not in the mood to get on a rollercoaster or carousel it’s an unforgettable place for an amble thanks to its romantic 19th-century representations of the Orient. After Bakken, also in Copenhagen, Tivoli Gardens is the world’s oldest theme park, and if you do have kids with you they will have the time of their lives on some of these rides. Worth special mention is the Star Flyer, a carousel that hikes riders up 80 meters above the ground.

Most of the student life has now been relocated to four new campuses but the area is still known for its lively atmosphere with an abundance of boutiques, cafés and night clubs.

3. Rosenborg Castle & Kongens Have
Rosenborg Castle is a renaissance castle located in Copenhagen. The castle was originally built as a country summerhouse in 1606 and is an example of Christian IV's many architectural projects. It was built in the Dutch Renaissance style, typical of Danish buildings during this period, and has been expanded several times, finally evolving into its present condition by the year 1624.

2. Tivoli Gardens
Tivoli Gardens (or simply Tivoli) is a famous amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen. The park opened on 15 August 1843 and is the second oldest amusement park in the world, after Dyrehavsbakken in nearby Klampenborg. Tivoli is the second most popular seasonal theme park in the world, the most visited theme park in Scandinavia and the fourth most visited in Europe, only behind Disneyland Paris, Europa-Park Rust and the Efteling.

1. Harbour Sights
The best way to soak in the city's plentiful and beautiful harbour sights is to take a harbour trip, from Nyhavn through the Inner Harbour, along the canals of Slotsholmen and Christianshavn. It is also a fantastic way to understand Copenhagen's development over the years.

The Last City in Europe with No Laws (Christiania)

When I heard there was a city in Demark that had gained independence from Copenhagen, and was anarchist, I knew I needed to visit. My trip did not disappoint. This was an eye opening experience to say the least
