Chiplun in Ratnagiri district- Maharashtra is Abode of Lord parshuram also popular for lush green landscapes.There are many things you can do here as a tourist and spend one day exploring local food, waterfall and sightseeing.
We started Konkan tour on 17th sept from Mumbai and reached Goa on 2nd October, this particular video was shot on 23rd Sept at Chiplun
We stayed at Amraban Nature Resort, Rs 1700 for double occupancy. It is about 7 km from Chiplun town.
Following are the places we visited during the day
Shri Parshuram Temple - This temple is dedicated to Sage Parashurama, It an ancient temple,
We had our breakfast at the Amraban nature resort - Rs 40 for 6 PC of wade.. and rs 40 for 6 PC of Gharage
Sawant Sada Waterfall - Beautiful waterfall, you need walk for 10 mins to go closer to reach the waterfall.
We hired a boat from Gowalkot Dhakka for 1 hour 30 mins crocodile safari. Sameer - 9764878090 (Boat Owner)
Lunch at Hotel Relajh near Indian oil pump in Chiplun,
Veg thali - Rs 80 along with Chicken Sukka - Rs 100 & Wada - Rs 20 per piece
Aadarsh Dining, near post office - .After lunch we went to a restaurant in chiplun market for Modak - I tried Ukadiche Modak here, price - Rs 20 per piece
We roamed around in Chiplun market for sometime, then we proceeded towards Ganpatipule.
Ganesh Kuipa- We tried another type of modak this was around 45 km from chiplun - Hotel - They serve Flavoured Modak. Rs 100 - 330 gm
We stayed at MTDC Ganpatipule Double occupancy Suite Rs 5600. Their tariff starts from Rs 1700.

Hello friends ,
Welcome to our channel. Today we will be visiting parshuram mandir which is situated at around 20km from Chiplun taluka of Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra.
Parshuram Temple -
An ancient temple of Lord Parshuram is situated near the town of Chiplun on Mumbai-Goa National Highway. Parshuram is the 6th incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The temple is resplendent with fabulous design, which incorporates both the Hindu and Muslim styles of architecture. The steps from the Ghat lead to the temple premises. The main temple is surrounded by stone walls. The main sanctum has three elaborate idols. It was built around 300 years ago. Since Parashuram created Konkan land, he is considered as the presiding deity of Konkan region.
A temple of Goddess Renuka Devi is seen behind Parashuram Temple. It is believed that Parashuram’s powerful five arrows created the primary water source at this place which is known as Banganga Lake. The temple was constructed with the help of Portuguese and the funds for its construction were provided by Janjirekar & Siddhi. Hence, European, Hindu and Muslim styles of architecture are noticed in the construction work.
Sawatsada Waterfall -
And secondly since it was monsoon season was going on we also visited a beautiful waterfall names by Sawatsada. It is situated on the Mumbai - Goa highway on Parshuram ghat.
It's one of the very attractive place for tourists while passing by it
We can get to see many stalls of villagers with sweetcorn and chat

Go when its Rained Hard for at least 4 days

Chiplun Tourism
In the quiet, far away from the city port district of Ratnagiri in Maharashtra, lies Chiplun, the city that offers you time among mango groves next to the beautiful lake, Vashishti. This town is most known for its white sand beaches and beautiful mango and cashew groves by the Vashishti river.
Chiplun, meaning 'The abode of Lord Parashurama' got its name because of the famous temple it houses. Chiplun also happens to be an industrial town and most people coming to this side tend to go to the river view resort, a popular getaway on weekends. Kaas Pathar (कास पठार) is a plateau of flowers located 30 km away from Satara also known as the Valley of Flowers in Maharashtra.
This 1000 hectare plateau has only recently gained popularity since it was declared a bio-diversity site by UNESCO in June 2012.
Kaas lake (built 100 years ago) is a perennial source of Water supply for western part of Satara city by gravity.
Kaas plateau is a small hamlet in Maharashtra. Nestled in Sahyadri's, this place is a creation of mother nature.. Every year in september, variety of flowers come up and fill the plateau with its colours as if it overpowers the land itself. Truely spectacular and Incredible India.
Kaas Plateau is really a Valley of Flowers. Enjoy the scene of widespread carpet of flowers, of different colours and variety....spread over acres of land on the Kas platue. definitely worth seeing - nature in full bloom which is once-in-a-life-time wonderful experience. The lateritic plateau of Kass has becomes home to millions of tiny flowers in late monsoons. The whole spectacle is beyond words. More than 300 varieties of wild flowers, herbs, orchids, shrubs, insectivorous plants etc. can be seen here in Aug and Sep (Best time is 15th Aug to 15th Oct)..... This plateau overlooks the lush evergreen forests that serves as a water catchment area of Koyna Dam and which is recently declared as Sahyadri Tiger reserve. In monsoon the whole area transforms into an unbelievable carpets of flowers like yellow carpets of Smithia and Sonki flowers, Pink carpets of Balsam, Purple carpets of Karvi etc.... Kas Lake ls on a distance of 22kms from Satara. While going to this lake you will have a beautiful nature around you. Total road of 22kms is hilly, going from Kaas Plateau which is called as Maharashtra's Valley of Flowers.
Best time to visit : Between the second week of September and the first week of October.

The beautiful ‘Shivasrushti’ of Dervan is created around 2 kms away from the Savarde village on the Mumbai-Goa highway. Many different sculptures of the historical events of the life of Maratha King Shivaji Maharaj have been engraved on the walls of the Shivasamartha fort here.
The area of the Samadhi temple near Shivasrushti is very pleasant and quiet. Tourists can visit Shivasrushti between 8am to 6pm
This grand Shivasrushti has been erected in the memory of Sitarambua Valavalkar. You must see the ‘Dervan Shivasrushti’ which is situated in the Chiplun taluka during your visit to Ratnagiri.
