यमुनानगर हरयाणा राज्य का एक खूबसूरत शहर है जो उत्तर प्रदेश के सहाहरपुर जिले से लगा हुआ है। यह शहर प्लाइवुड और कागज कारखानों के लिए जाना जाता है। यह बड़े उद्योगों को लकड़ी प्रदान करता है। इस शहर को पहले अब्दुल्लापुर और जमनानगर के नाम से जाना जाता था। यमुनानगर, यमुना नदी के किनारे बसा है, यमुनानगर से, यमुना नदी पहली बार मैदानी क्षेत्र में प्रवेश करती है।
जगाधरी यहाँ का पुराना शहर है जोकि धर्म नगरी, बर्तन नगरी, जगाधरी वर्कशाप और जगाधरी रेलवे स्टेशन के नाम से मशहूर है। जिले के अन्तर्गत आने वाले तहसील-उपतहसील ऋषि-मुनियों की धरती है, देश-विदेश से कथा-वाचक और उपदेशक यहाँ का भ्रमण करने आते रहते हैं। शहर, ऍजूकेशन हब के रूप में अपना एक विशिष्ट स्थान रखता है। यमुनागर शहर हरियाणा राज्य के लिए एक मणि है जहां तक उद्योग और राजस्व का संबंध है। यह शहर राज्य के लिए दूसरा सबसे बड़ा राजस्व उत्पन्न करता है।
चाहे चीनी मिलों, भारी मशीनरी कारखानों, प्लाईवुड कारखानों, पेपर मिलों, स्टील कारखानों या किसी अन्य औद्योगिक इकाई हो, इस शहर में यह सब कुछ है। हाल ही में रिलायंस समूह ने इस शहर में एक थर्मल प्लांट स्थापित किया है। इसके अलावा, इस शहर का एक पूर्व क्षेत्र जगधरी के नाम से जाना जाता है, जो इस शहर से अच्छी तरह विकसित और जुड़ा हुआ है, इसमें पीतल और स्टेनलेस स्टील के बर्तन उद्योगों की यूनिट स्तापित है।

सिख राजा नानू सिंह ने मुगलों से युद्ध कर बुड़िया रियासत कायम की थी । उनका गौत्र बुरिया था तो रियासत का नाम बुड़िया पड़ा । रियासत के अधीन 10 हजार एकड़ जमीन थी । अम्बाला , कुरुक्षेत्र , सहारनपुर व आस - पास के 204 गांव अधीन थे । हरिद्वार तक टैक्स वसूलने का अधिकार था। 1803-04 में रियासत पर कब्जे के लिए अंग्रेजों ने राजा शेर सिंह पर हमला कर दिया था । सहारनपुर में हुए इस युद्ध में राजा शेर सिंह ने डटकर मुकाबला किया था । इसी लड़ाई में राजा शेर सिंह वीरगति को प्राप्त हुए थे ।
The Sikh king Nanu Singh had established the princely state of Budiya by fighting with the Mughals. His gotra was Buria and the princely state was named Budiya. The princely state had 10 thousand acres of land. Ambala, Kurukshetra, Saharanpur and 204 nearby villages were under the control. Had the right to collect tax till Haridwar. In 1803-04, the British attacked Raja Sher Singh to capture the princely state. Raja Sher Singh fought fiercely in this war in Saharanpur. In this battle, Raja Sher Singh was killed.

Shaktipeeth Shri Shakumbhari Devi Temple, Saharanpur | Fair, timings and Complete Story
Shakumbhri Devi temple is situated at a distance of 40 km to the north of Saharanpur & 230 km from Delhi, in Uttar Pradesh state of Northern India. It has two important temples of Hindu deities: one of the Goddess (Devi) Shakumbhri herself and another one, Bhura-Dev temple, located one kilometer away from it to the east, of the deity Bhairava, considered to be her guard. Another temple dedicated to this goddess and quite famous is near Sambhar Lake, in Rajasthan. Another big temple of Shakumbari Devi is located in Badami, of Bagalkot District of Karnataka.

During the reign of the Mauryan king Asoka, the ancient city of Shrughna (modern Sugh) became an
important center of Buddhism. This Stupa at Chaneti is 3 km north-west of Sugh must have been one
of those tens of topes referred by Yuan Chwang. To construct this baked brick stupa, concentric
layers were put one over the other, each time leaving some space on the underlying layer, so that the
whole structure should give a hemispherical look. Thus, this stupa corresponds to the Shahpur and
Dharmarajika stupas at Taxila. No traces of stone railing surrounding this stupa were found.
Probably, it might have been wooden railings. At the top of the stupa, square space about 1.5mt. was
found filled with earth. This was the place for harmika which bore the chhatravali (umbrella).
The Sikh king Nanu Singh had established the princely state of Budiya by fighting with the Mughals. His gotra was Buria and the princely state was named Budiya. The princely state had 10 thousand acres of land. Ambala, Kurukshetra, Saharanpur and 204 nearby villages were under the control. Had the right to collect tax till Haridwar. In 1803-04, the British attacked Raja Sher Singh to capture the princely state. Raja Sher Singh fought fiercely in this war in Saharanpur. In this battle, Raja Sher Singh was killed.
